Sir,any good team plays with atleast six proper batsmen.The logic is , is Sachin good enough to occupy any of the six positions in this indian teams batting line up. If he is then why do we always question this mans talent, or his achievements. He does not say he is the greatest. All he says is that he loves the game and tries his best. If there is any questions on his committment then he can be talked upon otherwise we should consider him one of our great sporting icons who he respected the world over for his runs, committment and impeccable behaviour

Right on Sanjay! Actually, I think its people who cannot digest the fact that a fellow human being could achieve so much and could be loved by so many people.....
Sachin is the greatest sportsman that this country has produced. I'd place him much higher than Gavaskar, Kapil etc....
Some people try to bring him down only because they can never reach his levels and are so very jealous of him.....
Apart from being a great sportsman, Sachin is also a great human being.... There have been many sportsmen in the world who have achieved maybe more than him on the field but off the field they have been mired in controversies e.g. Woods, Maradona, Beckham, Lara and countless others. Or many at such levels are outright arrogant, rude and prudish..... But Sachin is dignity and humility personified.... Ever heard of him associated with any controversy?... Even the outrageous ball tampering charges against him were dropped because the TV footage clearly showed he was just cleaning the ball....

i cannot agree any more with you Sanjay. Why dont people understand that Sachin is a GEM as far as the people of India is concerned and we have to really value the treasure we have. Out of 2 billion Indians there is just one Sachin and the only Sachin that the world honours....Accept and Appreciate the fact - that which is appreciated by other nations and cricketing greats

absolutely correct, it all started because dhoni arrived on the international scene with a bang and with his consistent and outstanding performances stole sachin's thunder. since that time blind sachin fans are unable to digest dhoni's success.

Sample the following facts- tendulkar has played 440 odi matches out of which India won 220 and lost 193, gambhir has played 96 odi matches out of which India won 58 and lost 30, yuvraj has played 250 matches out of which India has won 142 and lost 96, dhoni has played 159 matches out of which India has won 88 and lost 61. tendulkar has scored 17394 runs in 429 innings which works out to 40.54 runs per innings played. Dhoni has made 5317 runs in 140 innings which works out to 37.97 runs per innings played. Out of the 429 innings tendulkar has passed 50 runs mark 138 times (45 100s and 93 50s) which works out as for every score of 50 plus sachin takes 3.10 innings. Dhoni in his 140 innings has passed 50 runs mark 41 times (7 100s and 34 50s) which works out that for every score of 50 plus dhoni takes 3.41 innings. And understand that out of the 429 innings of tendulkar he has played from position 1 to 4 -388 times while dhoni out of his 140 innings has played from position 1 to 4 only 30 times. That means tendulkar has come after 3 wickets down or more only 41 times while dhoni has come 3 wickets down or even lower than that a whopping 110 times. Even after coming so down the order so many times he is the only one who has come close to challenging sachin in number of runs scored per innings or no. of innings

Remember the old days when sachin used to bat lower down the order in odi matches before he started to open the innings? Sachin has batted in the 5th position (3 wickets down) 36 times scored 797 runs with 0 100s and 5 fifties. In the same position (5th position i.e. 3 wickets down) dhoni has played the same no. of times 36 times 1483 runs with 3 100s and 6 50s. you will probably be astounded to know that when dhoni has got the chance to come higher up the order (position 1 to 4) he has scored 1799 runs in 30 innings (almost 60 runs per innings!) crossing 50 run mark 18 times (3 100s and 15 50s). If after knowing all the above facts you still think that dhoni’s batting talent cannot be compared with ‘collosus’ sachin I will have to pity your cricket understanding.

do you know who suggested Dhoni's name as captain of the Indian side? Sharad Pawar openly acknowledged that it was Sachin who suggested his name. Infact the BCCI had decided on SAchin as captain. From that day onwards Dhoni gave up his arrogance and I started liking him as a player.

You people who say dhoni is a bad captain and must be removed for india to benefit. sachin your idol himself does not agree with you and thinks so highly of dhoni and thinks that dhoni deserves to be captain as he has the requisite knowledge, temperament, killing instinct and other qualities required in a leader.

some days age when I have said If donot have sachin in the team then our so called young team will struggle against the side like Bangladesh. Now see out of 240 sachin has made 105 and Extra are 13 and see the contribution of other 10 players. And now from here if India loose this test match then people will say sachin should retire becuase if sachin makes century then India loose. But people will not talk about other players as you see If out of team total 240 sachin made 105 then he has already made is valuable contribution and shown that he is from other planet and other players are mediocre. Why people are not taking about other 10 players.

I always see you entering only this. Now tell me what exactly do you want to grow "under banyan tree". do you want to grow a coconut tree or what. Its important for others small plants/trees to look @ the Banyan tree and be inspired to grow like that. When players themselves are telling that SACHIN adds LOT of value to them and the team, neither YOU nor ME or any other person CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT!! So Better have your mouth SHUT and enjoy the game and great players like him!! Ppl say MSD outperformed SACHIN, its still a looooooooooong way for MSD to be compared to Sachin. Not sure if he will ever reach him or not!! I am NOT degrading MSD but both have different talents, but nevery can you compare MSD with the GREAT SACHIN!!!
