It is strange that sachin has not won the respect of his peers or of the cricketing fraternity, he always ends up pretty average. he is an icon for indian cricket because he has brought glory to an other wise ordinary side a decade back. But in the past decade, he has been nothing more but an ordinary cricketer, nothing to make him the best. But our Indian public is so mad and possesive that they have the vicarious pleasure of calling sachin the best cricketer, maybe that makes the indian psyche to feel that they atlease have one great sportsman they can brag about, in an otherwise talent starved country ( in other sports)
Over a billion population, but we still hold on to one average crickter as being the only representative of our sporting culture

Ponting scores when the team need it.Sachin usually scores when the team is comfortably placed.Only fools will say Sachin is a one man army.In fact,Dravid is a better test player than Sachin.But only men with something in their head can deduce this fact.Shehwag is the real master blaster who REALLY destroy ANY KIND of attack in ANY TYPE of PITCHES.Sehwag can score 300 runs with the same baals Sachin needed to score a century.THIS is a FACT.NOT ASSUMPTIONS.
