Re: Ok But what about end result

As was england against Australia just yesterday, newzealand against bangladesh recently, pakistan against afganistan,SA against Pak in the 3rd and 4th test, the list goes on.
Re: Ok But what about end result

With more than 100 overs to be bowled, the result was more or less clear when Dhoni and Harbhajan got out after Tea.. From here even if India takes a lead of 100 runs, its difficult to save the match.

Draw is highly difficult from here... thankfully we saved ourselves from a shameful innings defeat.

Why dont you compare from any new commer who have just played 1 match scoring 100 in it and then you can get a chance to say that this guy is better then sachin as He has played 1 test scoring 100 so every match 1 hundered and is way ahead then sachin. Man compare Shewhag only when He plays more then 100 Tests and then see his scores and sachin score. Its too early to compare both of them so be judgemental

Good point. But the same logic should be used to not adversely judge a player who just started.
If there is a Kohinoor of India it is Sachin Sachin Sachin, He makes every every Indian proud when he walks in any stadium be it cricket or be it in Wimbledon people give him a standing ovation. Which game which player has played 21 yrs and not a single controversy? Tell me why cant we cant we give him a Bharat Ratna- ( of course it has to be okayed by great Madam of India as ourPM cannot decide alone).
Re: DO WE NEED TO DISCUSS FOR A BHARAT RATNA

Sachin is the only deserving candidate of Bharat Ratna in the country. Infact he is the best candidate of previous Bharat Ratna awardees.

If Sachin was Muslim,he would have been awarded by Bharat Ratna long back. This si the policy of our Secular congress govt.

There are only 9 countries playing international cricket. How many countries are there in this world? its not a football where more than 75 countries takes part in world cup process.so why such a big noise over very meger part of world? Sachin is not Pele or Maradona.he is not even Bradman.

Re: Re: DO WE NEED TO DISCUSS FOR A BHARAT RATNA

I think this topic is related to Cricket.. think other way.. its only 9 countries who are skilled at playing international cricket.. otherwise, I think there are atleast 20 countries where cricket is played
Re: Re: Re: DO WE NEED TO DISCUSS FOR A BHARAT RATNA
by Mr Infinity on Dec 20, 2010 12:40 PM
Wrong... there are 100 countries where cricket is played and leagues are in place, officially. There are 5 divisions of these countries from which a country qualifies for a WC qualifiers!!! and then after being the semifinalists or better, it qualifies for ODIs...
this system is not exposed to us ever, as we are a test playing nation and by default qualify to every world cup.
Re: Re: DO WE NEED TO DISCUSS FOR A BHARAT RATNA
by Rajesh Gupta on Dec 20, 2010 11:52 AM
but he is well ahead of all those names.. If only 9 countries playing international cricket, bcoz other can't play or not popular in their countries and there is no restictions of ICC on them.

Hello, what do you know about bradman, shut you mouth praise this GOD
Re: Re: DO WE NEED TO DISCUSS FOR A BHARAT RATNA
by abc def on Dec 20, 2010 03:14 PM
Correct your facts. If you dont know then dont comment. Check ICC tournaments in which other countries take part and the winner of those tournaments only get a chance to play in the World Cup the same as football. So its not 9 its lot more then that. And Sachin does not need any comparision He has created a land mark and others will be compared with Sachin. Appreciate the hard work done by some body
Re: Do not celebrate Mediocrity. Records are meaningless.

Don Bradman scored 29 centuries in just 50 odd tests.he has 6 consecative centuries in test cricket to his credit.he has scored triple ton on more than one occassion and double tons on more that 8 occassions.he did not play between 1939 to 1945 due to II world war.had he played during that 7 years,he would have scored 100 test centuries.he has the test average of 99.99.so until and unless this record of bradman is not broken,no one can claim to be the Badshaha of cricket.this is with due respect to our Sachin.
Great Man! Where are those idi..ts, fools or anti-sachin followers? Who were saying he will get his 50th hundred against Bangladesh? If still India loose, they will definitely say that Sachin play only for himself, because they don’t know anything about cricket. This is the bad luck of India, that only Sachin and Dhoni showed some skill under such tremendous pressure to avoid a shameful defeat. If any of other topgun use his mind, there might be different ball game today and it might be one of the great comeback in the history of cricket after behind almost 500 runs and more than two days remaining.
Agreed, it is great achievement, but cannot take away from the fact that in his pursuit for no's, he has sacrificed his earlier flair. De-Villers & Kalli's ton in this test blows away Sachin's 107 out of the water, & we are not even talking of the great Sehwag here, so forget about comparing Saching with Don Bradman, he will first have to contend with some of the lesser known mortals.

there are several aspects to be considered here.. the conditions were not same then.. *Players used to get sufficient time to prepare for forthcoming matches.. *fielding standards were low.. *bowling din't used to be of this variety.. *And only 2-3 teams used to play international test cricket..
Re: Re: Re: 50th Century out of 175 tests

Also they were not paid as today. They sometimes had to spend own money for kit.Bowling was too fast at that time.Heard of Bodyline bowling?
The man's name will define every standard in the game of cricket in next 50 years to come..
Greatness of this stature is normally accompanied by humility that is his character as well.
This is a model for a super achiever, not just an excellent sportsman.
A consistent performance lasting over two decades in an environment where an average test player has played less than 15 test matches in his entire life speaks volumes about this giant of a professional.
Any one who has ever asked any questions about his ability simply don't get it...he is way above the game. He is Sachin, one and only!!

Your ansewer lies in ur question Rambo, there are 3 good scores in their team, where as, here only one man plays for team, got it?

seems ur understanding of the topic is very bad.. the discussion is not with reference to match... Even if u take that way, in this match, SAs first 5 batsmen have scored 620 runs (remember the pitched eased out from 2nd day)... when it came to Indian batting its only Sachin who is still going... what do u have to say about other batsmen? *And most importantly SA has best pace attck in the world..

1swt three won the match for the team.and sachin for his personal record.team lost.

Re: Re: LET US BE OBJECTIVE

2nd, they bowled on the pitch which assisted bowlers greatly.. thirdly, from 2nd day onwards very conducive for batting.. fourthly, our bowling attack was mediocre.. fifthly, batsmen's application to wipe off inning's lead was worse.. Sixthly, we are up against best bowling attack on their home pitches.. Seventhly, and most importantly, whether Sachin scored 100 or not still u people would have criticized him.. So problem is in ur minds..
