History
by Ataturk on Dec 20, 2010 08:58 PM  | Hide replies

If you closely look at sports history, it always presents great sports persons with an important trophy, so that they will be always remembered for that. Eg: Diego Maradona (even with an average team, he has a WC) Kapil Dev (1983 WC), Imran Khan (1992 WC), Allan Border (1987 WC), Peter Schmeichel (Denmark, Euro 92), Jurgen Klinsmann, Paolo Rossi, Michel Platini, Sunil Gavaskar...etc.. These people were the best during their time.. So they have some trophy to remember. Likewise, I feel this World Cup will be for Tendulkar. History wont allow him to go without a major trophy.

even if that happens, sachin will be blamed for trying to lose matches, since he is unnecessarily blocking a spot according to some great crtics.

Hype
by NYY on Dec 20, 2010 08:26 PM  | Hide replies

Agreed, he is the best batsman of our era and the highest run scorer. But the hype and praise showered on a human being should not cross the limit. Comparing some to GOD is ridiculous. India lost pathetically in the match. No media wants to put that in the headlines.. Only 50th century in the headlines. When south Indian movie lovers praise ChiranJeevi or RajniKanth, the whole India criticizes and mocks them. See what the whole India is doing...

we want world cup not personal records. McGrath & Ricky ponting played 4 world cup in that Australia won 3 times & 1 time they remained runner up.Tendulkar played 5 world cup in which one time India became runner up. if Ricky ponting is not playing well mean all Australian media"ll start criticising him but Tendulkar"ll score century & Indian media"ll start praising him, no matter we win or loss.

India lost becaus eof Toss, it was hard luck. Otherwise you must have the dead pitch from Day 2 onwards. We were playing under tremendous pressur ein 2nd innings. I don't see any fault from Indian Batting.

Congrats Sachin
by prabbyz on Dec 20, 2010 06:31 PM

Congrats sachin, Rahul for your achievements. There is nothing to blame sachin for the hypes created by the media. Our question is , is this hype required when India has faced a humiliating defeat ? Well, I was too thinkin d same way. But first thing we need to accept is the achievement by one of our bro which no one else has ever made in the history of Cricket. This is a team game and contribution from everyone is required. If a match is lost in which sachin has scored a century, is this his mistake or the rest of the players who cudnt make it out till the end? Lets stop commenting about Sachin n his achievements. He deserves it inspite of India's loss in the match. If this century puts our stomach burning, lets say as 111 not out ;) , a 111 runs knocked to save India's fortune :). Lets hope for the next match and mean while lets not forget to praise our bro.. :)

Check Sehwag's record,
22 Hundreds,

Not Out - 1

Results of the match

Won - 7 (32%) (Sachin- 40%)
Lost - 5 (23%) (Sachin-22%)
Draw - 10 (45%)(Sachin-38%)

Second Innings -1 hundred

Now you decide who plays for country and who plays for himself

Why are you complaining about Tedulkar who scored century and not others who failed including the great Dravid and Laxman. Is it his mistake to score run if india loses match ?

Sachin's Record

Out of his 50 hundreds,
Not Outs – 16
Results of the match
Won – 20
Draw – 19 (Total – 39) Lost -11

Strike rate – 59.28 or 3.56 runs per over (Not bad for test match standards)

Second Innings – 13 hundreds

Please update your statistics before you speak.

So yet again we have a meaningless record, and India gets thrashed.

multitudes of fantards are celebrate away for weeks

Calls for Bharat Ratna... gold medal. everyone cares abt indiv records. Not that the '#1 team' is pathetic and we have a guy that never steps up when needed.

One cannot save a match without a support. He is not out in this inning. If some body would have bated with him for anoother 40 overs the match could easily be drawned
