well people, lets not think of what he didn do or what he should have done.... just imagine, a mere 16 year old boy faces the world's fiercest bowlers on the pitch and lives to tell the tale even after 20 years in grand fashion... its no ordinary kid... its Sachin... it is because of him that india is one of the strongest teams...
and he is the only player to have become so popular that few non-test playing nations entering the world cup keep a jumbo cash award for the bowler who takes his wicket... and the only way he responds to the critics is his willow...
Sachin will always be remembered not only for his legendary batting but his down to earth nature and simplicity. He has showed the world how to handle success and stardom. I hope our new breed of cricketers get at least 5% of that.

Its a team play, inspite of pain of losing his Dad he continued the worldcup, he is such a great player.
