V indians always think individually & feel proud of individual acheivements. That is why, condition of our country is like this. With all due respect to Sachin........inspite of all, he will have a regret forever & that is touching & lifting World Cup.The coming generation(after 50 years) will get inspired by the photographs of Kapil Dev lifting the Trophy for the nation the way we now get inspired by seeing the photo of Saheed "Bhagat Singh." Individual Statistics always fail to inspire the young mind but the photographs like mentioned above inspire the whole youth. A boy gets inspired by watching a fighter plane in the open sky but he is least interested to know about Sir JRD Tata who was a great pilot. Sorry Sachin!!!

well mr. prateek, you should realize that we are talkin about SACHIN.. and winning world cup is also equally the job of 10 other players in the team.. ask them as to why do they shatter when he does well...and at the end of it all, they say that sachin played well, thats why india lost...

About the world cup, we dont need one... all that matters to us is the way he entertained indians and the way he brought back india on the map in his 20 year voyage... we hope his voyage never ends... long live sachin...

I agree that Sachin need not to score 100 in a particular venue to prove his stature. But certainly some records still have not been bagged by him e.g. 1. Highest run in a test inning (400* by Lara), 2. Highest test average (99.94 by Don Bradman; impossible to achieve considering difficulty of modern cricket), Highest number of double hundred in test (12 by Don Bradman), Highest ODI aversge playing 100 or more matches (M. Bevan 53.58 playing 232 ODI), Highest career strike rate playing 100 or more matches (Afridi 113.2 playing 278 matches though his average is only 23).

Sachin is missing a Triple Century
by venkatesh naidu on Aug 13, 2010 12:28 PM  | Hide replies

One thing Sachin is missing is a much awaited triple century and the reason behind this is that in test matches he comes in middle order and do not gets much time to score a triple century.

yeah i know . Thats so sad that he has scored just over 70% of his runs outside india.

Its really sad that he averages just 55 against a pathetic team like Aus in Australia.

Its really said that he averages just 62 against England inside England. Thats such a bad statistic

Its really sad that he averages just 50 against New Zealand. Those new zealand pitches are such dead pitches, everyone in the world knows right.

I mean seriously, what the hell is wrong with you. Are you a porki trying to instigate divide politics or oh wait , by any chance are you a kangress party member, because only they can stoop so low.

Just one more thing before you start displaying to us just how much of a punter a.r.s.e l.i.c.k.i.n.g m.or.on you are . Punter has scored just 5600 runs outside aus.

Almnost 7k runs were scored in Aus. And Aus unlike india doesn't have a pletora of stadiums.

That only means that there aussie wickets are bowler friendly and wickets outside aus are batsman friendly, no wonder why sachin scored better in India. Such consistent performance and such a humble human being , sachin is a true example to the entire world.

Losers on this forum--who are they?
by LG on Aug 09, 2010 10:33 AM  | Hide replies

These losers do not really care about India's win, their only agenda is how to demean Sachin contribution and how to pull down our national hero.

For these morons, Sachin is not a batsman whose ever runs go to team India total, but a bowler whose runs-50, 100, or 200--go to opposition. These morons say that win more important than Sachin records, but when we win they do not enjoy win but indulge in mudslinging.

These losers will always come up with some cynical comments on Sachin, whether Sachin scores zero or 100 or whether India win, lose or draw the match/series. There will be no end to cynical self-gratifying comments from these losers.

It is open secret, these losers are writing nonsense comments because they are basically NOT HAPPY with their own lives, and have to talk nonsense about someone great to get attention--and it happens to be SACHIN.

bullshit....everyone understand cricket here.....they know how he used to play before that elbow injury and how he is playing now.....cover drive missing, straight drive missing, never hooks or pulls, not as quick on his footwork, plays with in the crease, early movement in the pitch, gone....these days scoring only on very flat batting pitches against ordinary bowling attack......not the same sachin we used to watch 7 or 8 years ago.....dont know what u watch while he is playing.....dont develop fevouritism and blind faith in any player ....have some cricketing commonsense....watch all other batsmen's performances and enjoy cricket

that's the missing thing!!!! u got it..!!!
earlier he was invinsible to any attack...now any wicket taking bowler can get him out earlier in the innings..... reluctant to bat in the miidle order in 1 dayers....not allowing test opener gambir to play at opening position in 1 dayers....that's a drawback...

Just to reiterate SUNIL THE MASSIVE ILLITERATE FAILURE

Last 2 years Sachin has played 25 ODI and averages 59 at strike rate of 98

Gambhir averages 36 , at strike rate of 88

Sehwag Averages 43 at 125 strike rate

Dhobi the so called Number 1 odi batsman averages 58 at 84 strike rate

From what I can see Sachin is far ahead of any ODI batsman since the past 2 years.

So yeah , take a hike dimwit.

hahaha what a joke . Not letting gambhir play in opening position in ODI's .. how many odi's is tendy playing these days ?

Also, he has done exceptionally well in the odi's he has played , so err cut the crap.

Maybe he doesn't have the shots he used to have 7-8 years back. But that hasn't prevented him from making/scoring runs in either format of the game.

Look where Gambhir is now , when compared to tendy ? Also , he has been the opening batsman for 16 years and him doing well as opener doesn't warrant any change in the opening position.

Also you are saying every bowler has a chance to get tendy out. Maybe they do, how has it changed anything ?

So yeah take a hike.

all flat pitches......each n every match over the last 2 or 3 years including newzeland ....dont know what ur watching ....every cricket playing country these days prepare "batting paradises " for 1 dayers....dont u know this truth....test pitch is different and 1 day pitch is different in every test centre....india hardly played at ENG, SA and AUS pitches resently.......he hardly performed on such seaming and swinging conditions resently earlier in the inngses these days....have u ever noticed his game of late..??
on these type of pitches..?
his 1 day game is more suited to middle order rather than opening position these days...gambir being an opener in test is the right player to open in 1 dayers...

Mr. silly sunil how can one scores century after century and double century when all shots missing. even if the batting pitch even if the ordinary bowler you need to play proper cricket to make a double in one day also in tests. If the pitches are so batting freindly as you think why every batsman is not scoring double in one day??
that is bcoz every batsman is not sachin tendulkar

Indians solo fighters for team scoring tons while loosing in Test
by sanjay on Aug 09, 2010 09:52 AM  | Hide replies

India lost 78 odd tests since 1996

Sachin 10 tons solo fights for team Aus 4 SA 3 Eng Pak NZ one each
Dravid 1 tons solo fights against Zim one
Laxman 2 tons solo fights against Aus two
Sehwag 4 tons solo fights against SA two Aus Pak one each

These are either solo or sizable resistances while loosing others have not contribeted enough so we lost.
Irony is out of 10 such fights Sachin scored 8 on non subcontinental pitches.

How does this demean another batsman ? Dravid is also great batsman so are Laxman Sehwad and others but few in numbers. But the spearheads are different.
Facts are put forward.

The one of such fact is we take Sachin for granted. If he is out for 0 then also opponents celebrate it tells all.

South Africa v India
South Africa won by 282 runs
Played at Newlands, Cape Town

South Africa 1st innings 529 all out
India 1st innings 359
Sachin 169
Azar 115
rest bunfled below 24 those 24 runs by Ganguly.

South Africa 2nd innings 256/6 declared
India 2nd innings (target: 427 runs) all out 144
Hoghrst scorer Laxman 35
India lost the match.

Now Sachin scored more than entire runs by India in second innings.
What he alone or Azar can do?

This is one such example.
