Re: Record: Refusing to retire
by Free Free on Aug 04, 2010 07:59 PM
he still is a match winner nd that counts. Retiring early has nothing to do with nething. Do u have a replacement for him yet?
He has scored runs all round the world in all conditions..
Scored runs at a very good rate.. only Sehwag has more than him in the team..
What do you want him to do to win the match?? Even in the historical matches like Eden 2001 or Adelaide 2003, he bowled superbly and took crucial wickets at most important time of the match to turn the match in our favour..
If Sachin is not a matchwinner, none is in the entire world!!
Even after 20 yrs of cricket, he is simply enjoying the game and is meriting the place in the team purely based on the performance alone and not on his history..

correct - that's what he does best, enjoy , make records and do nothing abt winning in crunch situations.
SRT has many useful records. why bother with winning. let us enjoy his records
Re: Re: What more can a man do??
by Free Free on Aug 04, 2010 08:00 PM
without those records team would've won 20% of those matches. Most man of the match & man of the series award means the team must have done well. Ur a idiot
he is going to retire without the WC, this is the curse of all the junior and co-cricketers who lost their positions because of him. this is going to haunt the little master throughout his life time.

mark my words he is going to retire without world cup and triple hundred in tests.

oomshik tooshik you are sick, mentally deranged. go and get ur upper story checked by a psychiatrist. i think he will find nothing there.
Re: Beat This
by Jag on Aug 04, 2010 03:26 PM
That should read "My friend who got married about the time Tendulkar made his debut is a grandfather now. :))
'oh get a triple hundred. only that is missing' 'aim for a 400, beat Lara record' 'wish you get to 250 tests' 'well done please get to 20000 runs' 'praying for your 100 centuries' 'Hope you play for 5 more years'
Not a word abt winning games. Typical of Tendulkar and his following. all they want is meaningless records. None of these glazed eyes is talking about winning matches, especially scores when needed

Very good of u....Isnt it typical of Sachin bashers to make such useless comments as u did...."Typical of Sachin and his following" this is what u said..When did Sachin say he wants to make records but not win matches for India??In every of his interview he always mentions that winning the WC is his dream..He always says a 100 becomes more enjoyable if the team wins also....May be some people dont understand the facts....As in this case the guy wirting the comment could not understand that the link is for Sachin's personal land marks therefore there is no mention of WINs by the fans....
Re: Re: Look at the comments here for Tendulkar
by Oomshik Tooshik on Aug 04, 2010 05:16 PM
so we keep talking abt records and omit any need for wins? Lordy!

No wonder u didnt get kicked yet..Did I or anyone else mention winning is not important????Dont make ur own rubbish meanings like ur foolish thoughts..Menaka Gandhi is there with PFA so no wonder u r still alive in this country..

Every run scored for creating a record indirectly is a step towards making the team win. All these runs which now are included in records have also been counted in team India's total score.
all the cowards speaking against sachin must face any bowler there on the ground. i am sure u all will piss in the pants. respect what the sportman has achieved because no body knows who CKR, OR ritwik is but yes everyone knows who sachin is
cricket is not very competitive, few countries play it. that too it is declining in all countries but Ind, SL, Ban. mostly Tendulkar scores when its easy to win or meaningless draw and honestly hes not a household name outside india. maybe among some cricket watching folks in Aust, Eng. Indian media makes foreign commentator in India praise Tendulkar. see Jackman. many have voiced concerns abt his non match winning ability but have been silenced by Gavaskar and Shastri Ditto - against top quicks on fast tracks. he jumps like a rabbit.
This is the one game where India is kind of well known and wins somewhat. limited intl audience. why can't we aim higher at global sport?
Re: I have never seen this guy step up when needed
by Sumit Bokhandi on Aug 04, 2010 02:58 PM
Dear C Kr, Just because only a few countries play cricket, it doesn't make the game less competitive. I agree we should aim higher in other sports, but we should give Tendulkar his due. I also think it is our right to advertise him to the world just as England does to David Beckham or Argentina to Maradonna. i haven't seen them "step up when needed" either but that shouldn't belittle his achievements.

He scored maximum number of runs outside India, he is not even the most run getter on home grounds (so no questions about scoring on flat tracks?)
His maximum centuries came against AUS then SRI and then SA all three of them are in top 5, weak countries?
the ODI playing countries he yet to make centuries against are... Bangladesh, UAE, Bermuda, Ireland and Netherlands!
for his match winning ability, visit SRT's page on Wikipedia and see his carrier history. That will be enough to clear that doubt as well.
I don't worship Sachin nor his fan. But I strongly believe that if any player is contributing to the country's sports, we should respect them. If you can admire someone, at least don't try to insult them.

Agreed. Cricket may not be universal like football. But where does we stand in football?

About cricket...
To qualify for international cricket, teams have to go from a 5 divisional cricket leagues and tournaments. they are categorized as first class games. more than 100 countries participate in qualifiers every year and gets promoted or demoted to various leagues. Finally some of them get nominated for WC qualifiers and then the finalists from these games get chance to play in World cup.
The first cricket playing nations made a wise move and made sure they qualify every-time for world cup so India or any other Test playing nation don't have to go through qualifiers.
Re: BTW .......
by Oomshik Tooshik on Aug 04, 2010 02:38 PM
No, we like our Kapil Dev, Sehwag, Dravid, Ganguly - all winning achievers. SRT is overrated. So save this 'only Indians slander' nonsense.
Re: Re: BTW .......
by Ritwik Bhuyan on Aug 04, 2010 02:42 PM
Wrong! INFERIORITY COMPLEX equates to slandering achievers who are regarded in the highest pedestal by the rest. That's what it means.
And you are the perfect example of an Indian suffering from a terrible inferiority complex, something that's running through your blood and veins. But I won't blame you. You have inherited it from your forefathers, the ones who were slaves to the British. You are helpless in this regard.

actually aus , eng, argentina, spain etc. all do this.. every country/community feels pride about and likes to praise a superstar. Maybe you should google HASTY GENERALIZATION !
