Am curious .. what makes you say that ? Do you have any arguments to support this ?

DID someone report the above post ? wow i didn't realize that I had questioned John's intellect with a simple question that he couldn't bear to answer

You ask them who's better, Sachin or Lara ..... Lara of cource since he was a match winner and played for his team.

But Lara has no World Cups! So what, it doesn't matter. It's of course different when it comes to Sachin, World Cup is all that matters.

But Lara was accused by his own former team mate Ridley Jacobs to be a selfish player in 2004. So what? It doesn't matter. Never mind the fact that never has any team mate of Sachin ever questioned his attitude towards the team. Forget about his team mates, not even his mates in county cricket has ever questioned his attitude. But these facts doesn't matter. What matters is random opinions without any facts to back them up.

Of course Lara was such a match winner. Never mind that Sachin averages much more than him in Test victories. Also never mind that Lara holds the world record of scoring most test centuries in loses. Also, never mind that only 8 out of Lara's 34 test centuries came in wins. But these facts are irrevalent!

Not only his own countrymen, even The Australian media including Ricky Ponting clearly stated in the media that Lara's record was selfish. never has one damn ex-player or anyone ever said any such thing in regards to even one innings played by Sachin. But as I said, facts are irrevalent. What matters is baseless opinions.

you forgot to add one more stat, never mind the fact that Lara's 400 came at the expense of a WI victory. he batted for 2.5 days , that basically led to a draw, for which he came under severe criticism from his countrymen

lara declared innings after 202 overs leaving 248 overs for England. In the first innings Eng were all out in 99 overs. Following on they managed to score 422/5 after 137 overs. It was a draw, but WI could still have won it but for some inept bowling. Lara cant be faulted for this.

Tell me the number of times. Simple yapping dosn't make it a fact. Let me help you out -

1. Chennai Test in 1999 when he played with a back that needed surgery.

2. The 5th ODI match against Australia when India chased 375 and Sachin almost single handedly won the match.

2 examples in 20 years. Now go ahead, give me more examples of when he threw away his wicket when the team was near victory. Go ahead, we are waiting .......

mind telling me those matches ? SO far you have not provided 1 stat or fact to prove your argument. I fear your parents have given birth to an absolute loser.

Please offer my condolences to your parents and to all the folks that have had to bear misfortune of knowing you.

yeah unfortunately cricket happens to be a team sport. Had it been an individual sport, am sure sachin would have won few of those already.

So yeah, pray that the other 10 deserve to be in a world cup winning team , like the aussies.

Some facts 4 you..

Most Man of the Match (MoM) awards in ODIs (61 MoM awards, as of March 1, 2010).
Most Man of the Match awards in World Cup Matches (8 MoM awards, as of March 1, 2010).
Most Man of the Series (MoS) awards in ODI cricket (15 MoS awards, as of March 1, 2010).

if you remove 10 MoM from this list still he has more number of matches won for India and any other crickter got his contery..

I don't think he needs a triple. 'King' Viv Richards doesn't have a triple either, yet he was and always will be the 'King'. On the other hand, someone like Graeme Gooch has a triple.

He is holding all these records & playing all these years... but now also he is humble, hungry, passionate towards the game, helping youngsters, Not indulging in any politics, Promoting youngsters like Dhoni to captaincy (Actually sachin only recommended Dhoni for captaincy as per BCCI), his Enthusiasm..

All these qualities makes him Unique...
