No one cares abt SRT except some fawning Ind fans
by Oomshik Tooshik on Aug 04, 2010 02:07 PM  | Hide replies

he is regarded as ordinary in the world. even in this game played by 7 countries.

that's what you get when you score against mediocre opposition on flat pitches for 20 yrs. and even in that win no matches by scoring when needed.

Oomshik Tooshik:

Very well said. Only fawning Indian fans like Brian Lara, Richard Hadlee, Imran Khan, Kapil Dev, Sir Don Bradman, Wasim Akram, Ricky Ponting, Muralitharan etc. etc. care about Sachin..

World's greatest souls like you don't care about him...

That's clear, established, documented and well known... :)

Anything else? :)

Which must be the reason why he gets a standing applause by the Australian, English, New Zealanders, West Indians, and fans from every other nations every time he comes out to bat, every time he tours there.

Those standing applauses are reserved for 'ordinary' players.

LOL, we have all seen those white fans standing up and applauding for him every time comes out to bat. By lying you won't be able to hide the truth. There are still videos all over youtube where one can see those masses of white Aussie, English and Kiwi fans standing on their feet and applauding him every time he came to bat.

But I won't blame you. Lying is the only way left when one is slapped with the bitter taste of reality.

the moment you need to say 'white fans applaud', you show that Indian inferiority complex that you talk about above.

You are a fawning SRT idolizer.

The moment I say 'white fans', I retaliated your lie that only Indians from those nations stand up and applaud SRT. Once again you have tried to lie and divert the topic, because I proved yourself to an utter liar previously. The only thing you did manage with your above post is confirm my claims. Thank you.

I'd rather be an SRT fan, instead of a typical Indian suffering from the common INFERIORITY COMPLEX syndrome.

absulutly correct sameer, every one forgets that in Test Cricket one need to take 20 wickets to win a match and not score 1000 runs.. India never had bowling attach which could take those 20 wickets.. In ODI's runs are all imp so Sachin outscored everyone there in ODI's and got max number of man of the match awards..

Some Facts

Most Man of the Match (MoM) awards in ODIs (61 MoM awards, as of March 1, 2010).
Most Man of the Match awards in World Cup Matches (8 MoM awards, as of March 1, 2010).
Most Man of the Series (MoS) awards in ODI cricket (15 MoS awards, as of March 1, 2010).

Mr Infinity, when people say sachin does not score when needed they mean that when the target is really difficult and when not many wickets are left when it is his responsibility to take india to the winning line he fails more often than not. most of sachin's centuries have come when the target is easy or moderate. if you will honestly check those score cards you will understand. much has been said about his 17 tons while chasing "huge(???)" scores. i had given details of all those 17 centuries in my post a few days ago. if you missed that post i would like to ask you to visit cricinfo site. please check those 17 score cards and see how "huge" targets they really were. first of all our bowlers restricted the opposition to moderate scores and put us in winning position. sachin merely completed the formalities, even then he was not the lone scorer. there were many other contributing in that department also. also about those 60 or 61 MOM matches. i would again ask you to got through the score cards of those matches and judge for yourself how much the contributions of others were. it is indeed a fact that when the target is something like 180/200/220/240 sachin scores very well 7-8 times of out of 10. But when the target is really difficult or challenging (or huge as many like to put it) sachin fails 7-8 times out of 10 to make a really good score.

i seriously and sincerely ask every sachin fanatic to go through all the score cards of his all matches and make a list of all his scores while chasing targets upto 240-250 runs.

Then make a list of all his scores while chasing targets about 270 runs.

Then make a comparison between these two lists.

Sorry. You are wrong. Ponting and Warne didn't do that for their team. It was McGrath who did it for Ponting and Warne.

Sorry it wasn't McGrath who did it for his team, it was Ian Healy who did it for McGrath.

Sorry, it wasn't Ian Healy who did it for his team, it was Michael Hussey who did it for Ian Healey..

And Afridi? Who is this chap? He never did anything for Ponting, Warne, Healy or Hussey... or rather he did a lot to Ponting... after all Australia holds the world record of most consecutive wins against Pakistan... ;-)

who r the contemporary players who have not scored on flat pitches for records or otherwise. if test cricket is not followed by fans then why are we all talking about it even in this forum.
finally, instead of generalising meritocracy with Indians read ur post once again, see urself in mirror and then tell us who is mediocre.

I've never een much of a fan of Sachin tendulkar. I've always enjoyed watching people like Jonty Rhodes, Ajay Jadeja and Mark Waugh perform out there. But what I don't understand is why people like you think Sachin does nothing. Blind Adulation or otherwise, he's given joy to a billion Indians and much more. Who cares whether he's known outside of India or not. i don't and I don't think Sachin doesn't either. His job is to play cricket and perform at the highest level possible, and he's done so for 1 years straight. Cricket is played by 10 countries around the world, and that's 9 more than the World Series of Baseball?

Mediocrity? He's been rated the best by some of the most impressive bowlers in the world - Glenn McGrath, Allan Donald, Shane Warne, Courtney Walsh etc. How many other batsmen can boast of such praise? One or two maybe? This guys is No Roger Federer or Usain Bolt because he's not playing a single person game. If he were, then the records speak for themselves, and he's left his contemporaries far behind. As for Pele, he still had "assists" from his fellow team mates to score goals. It's not blind idolization. What you need to understand is just like how you like another sportsman, there's more people who think like you and they picked Sachin Tendulkar.
