The ownership issues are legal complex matters and nothing could be decided in haste especially when so many reputed (by virtue of illegal money) are involved and its a mutual eco system where rich should help other rich people.
There is an article in times of India chennai edition today... it lobbys for Female umpires in IPL matches! It also says that females will can boss over the players sending crooked one out if they misbehave and add to that it says that players like Harbajan, Symonds will behave if there is a female umpire involved. I dont think these guys will be kept quiet because of a female umpire. If you have watched the match yesterday, Harbajan grab Nitu's a$$ and lift her! I think if a female umpire gives a decision in favour of him what is the gaurentee that he will not do the same thing to the umpire! Grab her a$$ and lift her up? Symoonds I dont know much about him when it comes to female but there is a likeleehood that he may lift the female umpire and go directly to the team hotel if he wins the match. Gilli may probably flirt with her on field with the help of Rohit Sharma. I dont who all have to be watched if they deploy female umpires in an IPL match: Yuvaraj, Dhoni, Bret lee, Sreeshanth, RP Singh, David warner?? gilli ??? and the list goes on!
Why did not Shashank Manohar ask this question three years back, at the beginning of the IPL tamasha? He has no answer. He is also as much part of this IPL muck as every Board Member is. People would have appreciated Shashank Manohar if he had raised all these questions then and disclosed to the public what is happening. Don't tell me no one in this country - the UPA Government, the IT Department, the Board Members - knew what was happening in IPL the last three years. Everyone of them was a party to the tamasha and suddenly when they find too many skeletons and one of their ilk (Sashi Tharoor) is made to bite the dust, they are trying to distance themselves and make Lalit Modi the sole proprietor of the whole show! The shit has well and truly started flying and some of it will stick on everyone who was sitting next to Lalit Modi and basking in the IPL glory, though the ultimate fall guy is going to be Lalit Modi. Come on Lalit, let the shit fly and take a few more powerful politicians down along with you. All the best!

Subhash Chandra of Zee Network is the real winner. His idea was borrowed by IPL and BCCI muscled the ICL by not recognising.
Looking at this a single body controlling and containing a single sport is dangerous and there should be multiple bodies with a code of conduct drawn by a spyorts authorit
Modi is claiming IPL is his baby. Fact is IPL born to his legitimate wife, but whole world knew how the baby was conceved. What Modi has done - marketed the T20 to the crezy extend. India winning 1983 World cup ODI and later first T20 W.C. - these are main reasons for the popularity of IPL. (I am not forgetting our star cricketers, but many of them are born out 1983 victory)
IPL's activites have been evident for the last three years and I am sure various Government agencies have been keeping a watch. The question is, why move against Lalit Modi now? Is this in retaliation to his attack on Shashi Tharoor?
