IPL has definitely ruined Indian cricket. When fresh players start off their career playing in IPL and r paid handsomely (their talent being questionable) its only obvious that they will turn their back to the more rigorous Test format of the game. If Indian cricket has to improve IPL should be banned.

I am amused with all this nonsense about IPL being responsible for india's poor performances as though we were world champions before IPL came into being! We never had a real fast bowling attack anytime in our history which was promarily responsible for our poor performances. Again, many players of other teams also have been taking part in IPL and yet their performances has not gone down, rather they became better players. The prime example of that of Shane Watson. He is now a part of the aussie team and he has credited the IPL for making him what he is now. So, the BCCI instead of looking for excuses, needs to get a pool of talents and nurture them so that there is competition for places which would ensure that the established players don't lose focus as their positions would be at stake. This would improve india's performance.

Friend, an ordinary player would never be picked up the franchisees as these people are businessmen and want results and they are not there for charity. These`ordinary' cricketers are selected simply because the franchisees believe that they can win matches for them!
Since 1.IPL is run by a jail return for keeping drugs. 2.IPL basis is only money.nomoney no game no player. 3.IPL team mates indian can share each other weaksness to win IPL and money. 4 Moving banners only face is left to hire.
Most of the bloggers atleast should stop hyping up the young players who have talent and potential. Every individual (sportsperson or otherwise) learns from their mistakes. It seems that the latest fad is to abuse Ishant Sharma. For god's sake, the guy is 21. Think what you have done by the age of 21 (or how smart you were at the age of 21). But then, if all the paranoia and attention towards fades a little bit, people will be much happier and other sports will benefit. My two cents.
The senior player who would have felt bad must have been Sachin.
The guy cried once in dressing room when tes match against Pak was lost and he failed to deliver,he had batted well but got out exposing the tail which were dismissed quickly.

If that is correct, then i wd like to know one thing..What did he do in the match against pakistan. No point in criticising others when u yourself don't perform!

I agree... It is a truth.
Lalit Modi & Co spoiling test cricket. We have played only 3 tests in 2009 whereas countries like Australia, England have definitely played more than 6 tests this year. Agreed - there should be a balance with respect to all forms of cricket.
These administrators never played cricket in their life and am not sure how they can appreciate the game. They are only for money. I think we should boycott watching these games.
T20 should be there but they should not be only playing that all the time.
Is anyone concerned about it. Absolutely no one. Because BCCI is interested only in making money to spoil the young cricketers before they perform on the international stage.
Perform or Perish. Irrespective of who it is... should be the mantra of BCCI. But when the fools in BCCI are not worried about all that, you cant blame the players who are enjoying their days with the sponsors and other agencies. At this rate, it is going to be a jokers team very soon...
india t20 world cup win was attributed to them finding great talent thru ipl..yousuf,raina etc..and then their second edition is now pointed to money? why can't they make money? if they don't perform make bold decisions like sacking..asses like bhajji, ishant,rp keep underperforming but keep playing...so much youth is waiting on the lines..giv them chance that is when u will find young talent like other teams have..and now bajji will use home conditions and play one or more good spells and he is assured of the next tour..how long will this go on? after so much underperforming still the only change is dravid out..what a joke!

India won the t20 world cup before IPL was even launched. The fact that India won the t20 World Cup actually paved the way for IPL and not the other way round. After the world cup triumph the great Indian talents have played 2 seasons of IPL. The performance graph is definitely not showing an upward tilt! So if someone starts blaming money going to the heads of young players so much as they do not lament losing matches while playing for their countries, I would only say that it is high time somebody officially said so.
Did kerry packer kill australian cricket team!? Surely not! If you are attempting find the reason why india is not australia? then IPL is not the reason! Indian cricketers traditionally have a weakness agnst fast, short pitched and moving ball-because of poor footwork, poor pivotal strength (this is also why our players are not good at hooking, pulling!)Interestingly the entire world knows this but indian players, media, experts never admit or accept this fact...I was a big fan of cricket but over the years watching and listening to half baked views, unscientific analysis of batting and bowling, and bias in evaluation of our cricket has left me rather dissappointed! so i hardly watch cricket-our cricket commentators may have records in cricket but are poor teachers and students of the game! our cricket journalists are still worse- they write views dished out by others with out the understanding of the game...indian cricket is in the hands of cricketer politicians and politicians-sunil gavasker is the biggest of them all- i blame him for ouster of greg chappel(indication of egos dominating selections and sackings), i also blame his lobby(ex-players,coloumnists,politicians etc) for influencing selections of cricketers and even TV commentators. Surprisingly i can see through his hand most easily. India needs to make fast pitches, select youngsters at an early age scientifically for fast bowling, get foriegn coaches and give them a free hand. I too have some first hand cricket exps

Sorry. I am not convinced. IPL has not allowed critical indian players any rest before the big tournaments.
IPL can run its show. The problem is when you make IPL the priority like Suresh Raina and co. does.
In the new generation of cricketers, only Gambhirmakes the cut as a solid player.
Sreekanth should have stopped picking these players from IPL that is a club level cricket played without any seriousness.

That's all Bull Shit!!!In my Opinion "YES".The Big Bucks involved in IPL is ruining the game.Earning un-imaginable Money is fine,But earning it for the sake of making your Bank Balance look fat and compromising the national duty will not be tolerated.I hope Mr.Dhoni and Mr.Harbbhajan must be listening to it.You shouldn't have that audacity to forego an event (for the sake of earning a fat bounty) where you will be honoured by the Nation. So All ofus should have the feeling of the Nationalism first than we can perform more than 100%.
Those who watched the ICC champions trophy just ended in South Africa, one could find the reason for the failure of Indian Team. They never played as "Team India" . Before the team went to South Africa , 5 prominet team members were in Kerala back waters for almost 6-8 days doing Add . They could skip practice session and no body bothers. The lure of money is never ending which end up in women and wine & cars. Dravid played well is out. Everyone wonder how Ishant got in . Because of the Politics , Poor guy Sreesanth is nowhere now . Dhoni's luck is over now . Its hight time that Indian Team has to play as "TEAM INDIA"
