The entertainment in cricket
by PS on Oct 16, 2009 02:14 PM

Nowadays popular cricketers are getting money very easily and in form of IPL,they have got medium of easy and lot of earning.
So their ability to do physical hardwork is decreasing. In 2 hours players, sponsors, organizers etc are cash rich so why will these players show their talent for full day or for 5 days when they can get money in 3 hours.
Yes Definately IPL T20 has ruined Indian cricket.

Club n Money r everythng

Same complaint is being often made in football. Often country team coaches complain abut players not giving their 100% to country team but always gives their 110% to their cash rich clubs. In the same context does football body has made any caps on players contract values ? It's not possible coz every sports man has only 10-15 yrs in his career when he can earn the money.

retired players and new comers should play IPL
by Veenaay Deshpande on Oct 16, 2009 02:05 PM

IPL should be only for the players who retire from International cricket but are fit enough to play competitive cricket. e.g. flemimg, warne, Gilkhrist, Lara, Inzamam etc. New comers should be given chance to play with them. The remunerartion of the young players should match to ranji trophy matches and the remuneration that of senor players should match to one day international.

The players who are playing for their nations should not be allowed to participate in IPL.

sour grapes

i donot understand why the hue and cry abt players making money? if one looks at the oppotunities that players get to play for national side after playing for endless ranji trophy matches and the biased selection criteria (zonal quota) few players wud be faulted in giving priority to making money whilst playing for IPL, added to this is the fact that today cricket is played nearly round the year, it is energy sapping and can be physicaly damaging. it is natural for players to go for the money attitude.
instead of crying over this the govt/corporates shud also look at other sports and make it equaly lucrative, dont you think then other sports will also get the attention? with the short span of life for cricketers for representing india, dont blame them for this attitude.

But what about the spectators who want to watch real talent and real competition in a game? Once getting a place in the team, these so called cricket players are least bothered about competing and showing their skills as their coffers are already brimming and overflowing the undigestable amonuts of wealth. We in general as a public that is only crazy about one single game cannot be fooloed by these cricket playing actors.

sunil, do they tell every one please come n watch? if people are crazy abt the game and patronise it , this will happen, its like test cricket now, how many watch it? compared to the era before television came in india? we had stadiums full today hardly any one comes, take another example, during the days in football when teams like pheonix mills, caltex, meg, gorkha birgade, mafatalal, orkay including teams from goa and bengal played at cooperage the tkts wud be sold out coz cricket was not played so much. now it is opp. no one goes for any national footbal tourney, they go for masala cricket. case of demand and supply. stop watching crcket you will find the diff. why blame the players?

Basically we are taking cricket life n death, n part of our life, but as for the BCCI bosses the the people running this show are more concerned with the commercial part of they dont care India is winning or loosing , they should make money out of it, they have politician mentality whoever wins or losses they take home money thats it. the best way to save indian team is by Ignoring this so called stars. only then they play with pride in their heart for India

It is absolutely true that IPL is literally screwing up the youngters mind. They have I care a Damn attitude about international assignments. IPL is also making Mr. Lalith Modi laughing all the way to the bank. His personal wealth has swelled soo much that he is finding it difficult to carry it around and can be seen from his attitude!! He and his faction of cronies has done enough damage to RCA. He is what Greg Chappel to India. He will ruin the players and get out and it would be too late to do anything.
May better sense prevail upon on the administrators!!!

IPL should be banned and players are allowed only to play ICC matches. Then the quality of the game stays. first remove modi's partnership with BCCI , he must be sacked to save the indian cricket.

All run for money !
by tuhin roy on Oct 16, 2009 01:51 PM

Modern era is meant for earning money and stay good. So we can not impose anything not to earn maney. But BCCI may restrict playing no. of game in a year, player-rotation formula, maximum of remuneration in a contract, control life-style and food habit, awareness campaign, moral teaching during coaching, minimum of educational level, incentive for performance
