Perfect. Its what I was thinking too. If India can bring in International coach then why not Akram. He has he best track record of building good bowlers of repute.

Wow... You spoke my mind out! I had the same combo in mind for replacement. but I thought having too many foreign coaches and an all-South African team (Kirsten, Donald, Rhodes) wont work for our team.
I think the captain should be sacked after two huge failures, namely the ICC 20-20 WC and the ICC Champions trophy. He has done well in the past and if kept captain he might do well again. But clearly the guy has lost the hunger to fight in the big tournaments. Winning some tri-nation series don't compensate for the big failures in the most important tournaments. His body language in both the tournaments wasn't inspiring at all. He should get the boot now. This would be a warning to all cricketers that they are not above the game and can't take things easy when it matters the most. Let someone like Gambhir or Zaheer Khan get the chance to lead Indian cricket team. Dhoni could continue being the wicketkeeper-batsman of the team. He's good at that. But he or for that matter any other cricketer should be treated the way a professional sportsperson is to be treated, according to their merit. We need to be more supportive of the game and our team and less of our favourite cricketers!

Ricky Ponting took Australia through a torrid period where they lost the Ashes, lost a home series to South Africa, lost the ICC T-20 WC, etc. But still faith was kept on him and he responded by thrashing England 6-1 and winning the ICC CT and now Australia look almost the same world beating they were before. If chopping and changing frequently was the solution, Ganguly, Steve Waugh, Hansie Cronje, etc would not have been great captains.

There's a huge difference between Ponting and Dhoni. Ponting always looked determined even when things didn't go right for him and the team. Dhoni on the hand doesn't look like he's taking his cricket very seriously at the moment. Steve Waugh was a great captain, so was Cronje and Stephen Fleming. But Ganguly wasn't a great a captain. He was effective enough to win us many matches but he was too self-centred a cricketer to be called great. He played too much politics and he wasn't a good sport either. Ask Warne or Gilly anytime or even some of our own cricketers.

BCCI has nobody in the group who can take a decision properly. They are growing fat and lazy. IPL has done no good to Indian cricket except throwing up a group of mediocre cricketers who are being confused to be top class and are replacing good ones in rotation. This is the main reason of these failures

it is not a good decision...its a bad one....it is just politics...and coz of lack of committment of players....what can the coaches do if the players dont perform....
Robin is a great man and even prasad...BCCI will repent for this decision...
players like RP Singh, Kohli, Raina etc are talented, but at the same time are too arrogant and take it for granted....and they shouold importance to all the aspects of the game...
The act which BCCI done is same as above. The class may have many students but it depends to individual how they learnt the lesson taught by Teacher. If the student gets good marks he will never say it is because of Teacher. Only when student gets bad marks then only Student finds a way to pass irresponsibility.
This is same in above case, where although both were not inefficient why BCCI has hired them initially and retained them when Team was performing Exceptinally well.
Venkatesh Prasad although a bad bowler but he learnt Bowling lesson from England and he is certified Trainer.
You cannot insult the professionals like this by just ignoring their good effort. See the transform in Zaheer, how it was happened?

I would say Dravid is unlucky...in fact he was the only one who showed some consistency in the recent champions trophy....despite he is ignore...if they dont have a long term plan, then in the first place they should have not taken him to ODIs....its insulting for great players like him to be selected for a series and then dropped immediately after that...
