Make up your mind whether Sachin is a good player or not. If he is, then concede he cannot perform 100% of the time. Even Ponting failed in the finals.

If you think he is not a good player, what are you complaining about then?... :)

There is something about Vettori's leadership that turns the screws on the opposition and he demonstrated this in his previous match against Pak. His presence in the match against Australia would have made the difference in terms of captaincy. Poor NZ so close and yet so far !

One more slap in Aussie Bashers face especially Sunil Gavaskar
by Raman Shiva on Oct 06, 2009 05:35 AM  | Hide replies

I remember in 2007 WCUP Gavaskar told that he would hate to see Aussies win it again as they were not sportive blah blah,as if all other teams are very sportive,we ve seen how sportive teams are in the last 2 decades Mr Gavaskar.
He even went to an extent to drag the dead David Hookes incident to rub it in,i mean how low can a man stoop can be learn t from him,all for being given out(rightly so) in melbourne test 1981.
Anyway the bottom line is Aussies despite losing their legends like Warne,Mcgrath,Hayden,Gilchrist still play soooo well that even if they loose its close like the ashes and they come back strongly like they did in the series in England winning 6-1 and now this.
A team that has won 3 wcups in a row,2 without losing a single game still is being called as not soo great but players like Bhajji who havent achieved much in their careers.all because of Jealousy
Ponting even though he failed today has lead from the front again(like he did in 2003 wcup finals)by becoming the man of the series. Our so called legend Tendulkar who said he would mentor us against Pak showed us how unworthy he is and his Guru Gavaskar is busy planning for Endulkars future of 15000 test runs etc..
Shame on u Gavaskar,Tendulkar learn from Aussies how to win.

You have correctly pointed out the strengths and determination of the Aussie TEAM.

But then fallen back into comparing our individuals with their team.

When Ponting fails, Australia still win - coz they play as a team.

When Tendulkar fails, two things happen. a) India lose, and b) you start comparing Tendulkar with the Australian TEAM.

How good is that?... :)

I mean think about it,some of the best wins in indian cricket has come without his contribution

Do u remember the 2001 series in India Vs AUS,who won it for us?
Bhajji Laxman and Dravid with a little contribtution by ur man.

What about T20 WCUP win?he wasnt even there in it?

What about the wins against pak in wcups 1996 and 1999,it was Prasad,Sidhu,Azhar who all performed well in that..Azhar top scored for us in 1999 match and in 2003 Tendu did win us,but not without contribtutions from Dravid and Yuvi, plus Wasim and Waqar played their last game and were well past their prime..

So its not true that Tendu is invincible and can stay for ever and ever..he is well past his sell off date...so wake up...

I am giving you his recent performances in Sri Lanka.

YOU are also giving his one failed innings against Pak, and we all know India lost it.

As for T20, he doesn't play it. And whilst on the subject, what about T20 world cup (without going into history again?) this year?... :)

Please dont be soooooo adamant man, even after seeing the pathetic display of Tendulkar time and time again, dont u c,that guy is a very selfish player, agreed he is the best we got,but come on dude, get over it,he is history, hes not gonna be a match winner no more....he is not even fit and will never make it to 2011 wcup, admit it,after what u saw now for u to still cling on to that Legend(yea i agree he is great no doubt)but come on dude,he is the main reason 90 percent players try to play for themselves..he has set a bad precedence like gavaskar

Dont be a opportunist here and try to sneak in ur legend here to make him look better.yes he has scored a lot of runs, but trust me u urself know for sure he is a liability now and r u still wanting him to skip series after series with poor fitness to last till 2011 wcup?

I don't need to "sneak in the legend".

You yourself have said very clearly that when Tendulkar fails, India fails.

Did you see the recent Tri series in Sri Lanka? Tendulkar fired, and India won. So I am not delving into any past history. I am talking contemporary cricket.

BTW, the series skipping going on right now is from Yuvi, Zaheer, Sehwag and some other "unfit" players. What say?.. :)

You must realise that playing against the Pakis and performing is more important than the tri series with SL and NZ.... When the situation requires he has to perform. Ponting has to perform and also captain a side.

Performance is not a choice. It is a "best effort" basis.

Otherwise tell me why Ponting would prefer to perform in a semi final and NOT in a final?... :)

Raman S and other critics. Aussie win because they have more than 4-5 players capable of playing crucial innings, so even if Ponting fails they can still win. Whereas when Tendulkar fails and India loose you blame Tendulkar. Why not blame Lara too, because he has not won a single world cup for WI. The fact is that cricket is a team game and it needs more than one player to perform. So your comparison does not make sense. And your criticism of Gavaskar and Tendulkar smacks of jealousy against Mumbai players and nothing else.
