Which Indian team?... :)

If you start transcending time warps, then England is the only team that has invented cricket.. :)

I mean a team from 1983, a team from 2002 and a team from 2007 (which subsequently flopped in 2009)...

You mix and match them well, and presto you come up with records such as the above... :)

What has the current Indian team done? is the question.

Don't start awarding Ponting because Sir Don Bradman was the greatest cricketer ever (and he happens to come from Ponting's country).. so don't start rewarding Dhoni coz Kapil Paaji lifted the World Cup once... :)

That is what usually happens when your team is not good enough to reach the semis and the finals...

Since we weren't playing, we weren't interested. Period.

That shows that the other teams have to pick up their standards instead of blaming the format..

If you will have a one sided match in T20, you'll become bored then too... :)

I didnt say anything about format.what i said that is the matches were one sided. But in the end, this type of matches are going to end in the natural death of the game

You are entitled to your opinion. But think why the matches are one-sided, and you'll see that it will not remain that way forever and the interest will come back immediately....
Australia is touring India and I can assure you that the matches won't be one sided and that there will be huge crowds to celebrate "no-nail-in-the-coffin" syndrome... :)

Learn A LESSON - TEAM INDIA !!!
by unknown on Oct 06, 2009 09:29 AM

You guys (Dhoni, Amit...) don't giv different excuses for the early exit from CT. There is no need you (Team India) to do any justice with your failure in CT becoz though we are cricket fans and might be do not understand cricket tactics so well and deeply like you grate players (Dhoni, Amit etc..) do but at least we (cricket fans) are not blind and can understand the reality with seeing the Australian team winning/performing like a champion (though they are not still the same team as they were earlier) against the same opponents and in same conditions.

You (Dhoni, Amit...) guys give excuses like some bowling errors, few things went wrong or it was a bad day and blah blah blah...

But the fact is that you (Team India) guys have never that hunger to win, dominance power, passion of wiining for the country and sport, which Austallians ever show in their cricket. And thats why they are not only today defended their title but also proving that they are the real champs of two top and best format of cricket game which is Test Cricket and ODI. And for your knowledge guys(Team India) T-20 is never real cricket (cricket skill), where you (team india) say yourself champion. T-20 is a format where any team can win more with luck and by just going one trick in favour, its never a game of skills. ODI and Test are real cricket where you don't need more luck or one trick to win. You need skills, temprament and performance to win.

Not much must be made of the Australian victory,as they deserve to win.Watson ,White & Hopes are not great players but they are dedicated players. They work hard on their game.Watson was just a simple all rounder who took it upon himself when asked to open the innings to score a 100 & win the match for his team, if you see India here what have the Pathan brothers done.have they done justice to their talent? What did Agarkar do?In India we are happy either being a bowler or batsman. The other day when Dhoni gave kohli an opportunity to score the runs,he did not have the stomach to put in a fight like dravid did.Had kohli stayed till the 40th over we would have won that match. It must always be remembered that when dhoni was new to the Indian team he was sent in at 1 down position & he handsomely responded by scoring a 144 against Pakistan & a score in the 180's against the Sri Lankans. Now this is the sort of player who adds value to the team. These are the kind of players we need in the Indian team. There are many talented domestic players in India who have never received a chance to display their talent in the international scene.Just how many one-dayers have players like Jaffer,Pujara,Badrinath,Mukund played for India. These are some questions the selectors have to answer.Till such time AUSTRALIA shall continue to rout oppositions and keep winning tournaments and people like you and me can keep feeling for INDIAN CRICKET

What Dhoni needs to learn from Australia's victory is to persist with match winner. Pathan was sidelined just for failing with the bat once. Remember he bowled well in that match. Watson scored 2 ducks to begin with but great captain that pointing is he know the value of each player, persisted with him. If we start judging players on basis of one bad/good performance then we will keep chopping and selecting. Why did the selectors go back to Rahul Dravid because nobody else including Dhoni has the stomach or technique to face short pitch bouncers. Not that Dravid has the greatest of strike rates but he is capable of playing innings like Shoaib Malik played against India. So let all the Chickens play in Domestic cricket till the time they are really capable of standing among the Vultures!

Reminscences

While watching the final, one could not help comparing the kiwis to Indians.

When McCullum and Redmond were batting, one got the impression of watching some pair like Ganguly - Dravid or Sachin - Dravid opening the innings. The power play overs, when the fielders are close and hence any shot which clears 30-40 yards is bound to get 4's or atleast 2 runs, were wasted by the kiwis.

Even when the pair of Franklin and Broom were settled, they were happy to defend or score only singles, leaving Aussie bowlers and skipper very happy.

But then there is one difference. Our batting maestros score some runs, atleast when batting first and usually flop only when chasing scores of 250 or more in 50 over format!

Sleepiest Final ever!!
by nisha thoas on Oct 06, 2009 08:55 AM  | Hide replies

Thanks to the most dubious format which knocks a team out after one bad match(in the case of India), we were treated to the likes of Franklin and butler bowling to ferguson and redmond. What a final deserves is a battle like Sachin vs Steyn or Ishant vs Ponting or Gul vs Dravid. The ground was half empty and this shows that India/Pak/host country are always needed to have some sort of atmosphere. India plays a colourful brand of cricket and thats why all their matches, anywhere in the world, are always full. NZ have done nothing but devalue their tournament.
Hope the format for WC2011 is fair, and then India and the sub-continent teams will show their true colors.

dont cry like a baby...all big tournaments has such format...have u ever appeared for a std. X or XII board exams...if u dont score well in that exam, u cant go and tell colleges that i am a scholar who normally gets 90% but in the board exams i got 70%...
in the same way, we may win small tri-series cups, but the big cup is always taken by australia...

Now you guys are complaining about the format! We are really behaving like sore loosers ....this format is accepted everywhere in the world in most sports - look at world cup football. We are just not good enough and accept that (though its difficult)!

Dubious format?... Hmmmmm.... if we win, no format can hold us back.

On the other hand, if we lose, then no format can help us either...
