No point in going gaga over past. At present without Yuvraj and Viru, Dhoni is in hopeless position. Your blind fanboyism will stop you to understand that but Dhoni knows it very well. Dhoni forced selectors for wrong players in CT and paid price for it.

We hoped during the Champions trophy too. The first 40 odd overs proved nothing of the sort.

Hope that our home condition advantage is exploited well, if nothing else.

Should be an interesting series.

hey guys come on! Allow people like Pseudo, LG and their ilk to enjoy their day under the sun. They have waited for it for sooooooooo long. Ponting and Team Australia had disappointed them so long and Dhoni and team India had angered them for so long. Ponting and Team Aus lost to Dhoni and Team india in the finals played in Aus. Then again Ponting and Team Aus lost to Dhoni and Team India in The test series in India. Ponting and Team Aus lost to SA in SA and Aus and then again in Eng. After losing test series to SL in SL (Dhoni did not play) Dhoni and Team India beat SL in the ODI series. Then Dhoni and Team India beat Ponting and Team Aus in Test series in India. Then Dhoni and Team India defeated Eng in Test and ODI. Then Dhoni and Team India defeated Vettori's NZ in Test and ODI series. Then Dhoni and Team India beat Gayle's WI in ODI series. Then Dhoni and Team India won the tri-series in SL. Have some pity for Psuedo, LG and others. Let them also enjoy once in a while.

Well said Sunil. Some people always happy when other countries win. For them India and Dhoni are always poor players in cricket in spite of the record you have written. Let them enjoy. Coming days will establish who is better.

and guided his team to finals is really a
lesson to learn. for ricki cricket is team game
unlike our team where player selected on the
besis of personnel relation with captain.

Just because they won a trophy do not write rubbish. Why u people ridicule our own team while praising others? Sri Lanka, India and South Africa were easily as talented as Aussies in the Tournament. Pakistan helped Aussies to reach the final by deliberately losing their game to prevent India from reaching semis. Watch today's news in channels. Pakistan is exposed. God punished them for their bad intention and kicked them out in semis. Australians were very lucky to win because they faced NZ in final. It would have been a different story if Sri Lanka, India or South Africa reached the final!

There is no IF and But in World Sports. Why are you crying, Just look at it as end product who delivered their skill on the given day. BTW, How can you say that Pak allowed Aus to enter the Semi. I think even Aus would have Lost that Match I am sure Aus would have entered the Semi. Because IND Suppose to chase that 130 in 19 to 20 overs. Which did not happend.

IF India reached the finals.
IF Lanka reached the finals.

Any other IFs?... :)

We could have won 6 World Cups by now, if we hadn't lost in those matches we lost.... :)

Isn't it?... :)

Well said Kalpesh...

And Ramdas what you said just a trophy win, I think you don't know about aussie win in ODI series against England. Agree that they lost few test matches and ODIs before that to India, South Africa and England but after that they are again being consistent and trying to get where they were earlier on the top.

You say Sri Lanka, South Africa and India are as talented as Aussies then why they all even not reached in the semis of CT. They could have few good winnings but they are not threatning and consistent as Aussies are.

You say about Pak help in making aussies to final, so you mean now we should also rely on other team's win to make it into semis or final. The fact is that Aussies deserved the place in semis and India did never and it shows that real cricket spirit won the match.

I would really wish anytime in future to be wither sri lanka, south africa or India to be in final with aussie and then to see yourself the reality that who wins.

Learn A LESSON - TEAM INDIA !!!
by unknown on Oct 06, 2009 09:45 AM  | Hide replies

Though you (Dhoni) have given different excuses for losing against Pak and then CT....but the fact is that your (Dhoni) game plan failed from starting to end.

You (Dhoni) say bowing let down against pak but whats about these points:
1. Bringing Bhajji to late in attack which gave Pak time to recover,
2. Whats about making Ishant playing again and again after continuous bad bowling spells (again australia, it was horrible to see him bowling so short and wide),
3. Sending Tendulkar to do opening while middle order was weak due to absence of Yuvraj and when we had players like Kohli, Yusuf or Dravid who can play the role of opener along with the regular opener Gambhir. In a chase of such a big total playing tendulkar either at 3 or 4 number could have make the diffrence,
4. Whats about sending yourself after Kohli's wicket and leaving Raina and Pathan to do the task of match finisher which they have never done and you (Dhoni) perhaps are better the master of that,
5. Whats about playing Yusuf after putting long cue of non-performance, as its clear that he is not an ODI player at all. When he arrived at the crease it was needed to build a partnership and Dravid was the set batsman so he could take the risk and at least hitting the ball from the first ball itself does not making any sense which Yusuf did.

It shows that Dhoni made too many experiments in the match. plz understand making experiments are fine but sometime you need to play wid som game plan as per situation

Person "Unknown" you should make yourself known to this World. At least for making such Good analysis for IND team. I have not seen this kind of view made by any other people here.

Any way that was Good analysis.

If at all Dhoni is not our Captain, I don't know how many of us will support him to be their in the playing XI.

Correction.. India is the only country who has won all 3 tournaments.

Indian team is the only team who has won a T20 World Cup and didn't even enter the semis the next year.. :)

On that note Australia is the only country which has won 16 test matches in a row, TWICE.

But the current team is still a young, learning, budding team... not the greatest ever... :)

Australia has always come to the winning party later than India. But once they start winning, they win more than one time. So u see while India one only one WC in ODI and T20 and 3 mini WCs, Aussies have already won 4 WCs and 2 mini-WCs. So, next time they will win T20, the only one missing from their bag, and even defend it successfully in 2012.
We, Indians, need to learn the word "Consistency" from Aussies. Being a World number one means being consistent

Certainly not. We have played them well overall.

We need to become more consistent. Less of these T20 exits and CT exits..
