As a sports minister, the responsibility of Mr. Gill lies in developing other sports within the country instead of cribbing about trivial SMS games of IPL. If he is so concerened about match fixing and gambling, let him first oppose the appointment of Mr. Azharuddin in the Congress Party, who himself has agreed to have made money by means of fixing.

Even KASAB is fighting his case. Don't we all know he was guilty. Fighting a case in the court does not mean, he is innocent. Dont be ignorant & support for the sake of supporting.
Any good sporting body would have the common sense to think before introducing gambling as part of its game plan.
BCCI has shown they cannot control their greed. Their nacked display of money and reducing fans to gambling shows the indian crciket is int he wrong hands.
I fully agree with Gill's views which is well placed. If the article has correctrly described what he he had observed, Gill has been pretty logical and has touched upon the major implications with a certain maturity.
BCCI should not proceed with various promotional activities keeping only revenue generation as a goal, irrespective of the implications.
Cheer leaders' style of performance is another non essential aspect of IPL cricket that can induce unnecessary, inappropriate emotions / distraction particularly young minds.
Betting can be equally harmful. Gambling is always considered not desirable and can help erode sense of need for fairplay. A first timer will also be subtly and unwittingly introduced to betting / gambling in other forms such as lottery and horse racing.
Gill has been open enough despite a political big wig today being at the helms of the games.
All cricket lovers should should be encouraged to shun and give the development a disapproval. Cricket being a very popular game and having certain sway /influence should operate with a sense of responsibility and in a larger perspective.
Accept a fact that wrong persons are always involved in tarnishing image of cricket by gambling in various ways.(They are never bothered by illegal status of their activity). I would say this SMS tamasha is one of smarter way created by them to lure young TV viewres in the world of gambling. All rightminded Indians should strictly oppose this tamasha. Thanks to Minister Mr. Gill for calling BCCI's BLUFF. We need to support Ministersab on all the forums to not only oppose this incidence but to help him get rid of all such prevailing gambling.
