The prediction was different and making the terrorist to enter the play was different. The decision taken by the Sports minister was a prediction. If the common man will win the prize nothing will gone to the minister. This prediction was live and direct winning.
This is a valid point, but act fast. Betting of this sort is gambling. If it assumes big volumes, soon it will turn into fixing. eg. MI will not score a run in 3rd ball of 3rd over and in return DC will not score on 5th ball of 5th over. Both will agree as there is no disadvantage. Soon we will see transactions worth crores taking place. Then BCCI will appoint some biased farcical retired SC judge who will get royal treatment from BCCI and he will give clean chit to all involved. We don't want to see that happen all over again.
Then you should ban buying lottery tickets, stocks etc. Everything has some speculation in it. Get a life. attend to how you can improve athletics in India so that we win more olympic medals.

Speculation is a human tendency, you can not stop that. But in any of the areas you mentioned, if there is a fixing (it happens in all these in spite of watchdogs monitoring the actions) then it will benifit only those syndicates who can control the outcome. That is where the intervention is reqd. Ball by ball action is too meaningless to speculate.
game minister, please note that SMS business is also a game and is upto the person, to do SMS or not. It seems that minister is unhappy becuase he might not have got requisite patronage.
It is so kind of Minister Gill to grill the BCCI about illegal gambling. However I would request him to raise the issue of how our illiterate or poorly educated MPs and Ministers possess crores in bank accounts. Is it honest income or gambling or is it something else which the public will never be able to discover?
For Lalit Modi and group, life itself has become a business and they are corrupting the general public with all these gambling, ground bash, scantily clad cheerleaders etc etc. However, none of our moral police seems to care about (excepting on Feb 14). Hyprocrites.
