Sorry state of Subash
by deep junk on Mar 31, 2009 09:11 PM

I feel really very pity for Subash Chandra when I see couple of hundred spectators in the stadium. He got in to this trap because of some bad advise. But his ego is holding high enough that he couldn't come out of it. I hope that he might be searching for some reason to close this event altogether.

He cannot keep feeding all these ICL cricketers, officials, and office bearers (including Kapil) with out getting anything back from them. No one is running a charity here. He wants to see some ROI. Do what you are best in. So take care of your Media business. The best thing would be to get an IPL Franchise and move on...

i think subhash chandra should make one team of from icl and join ipl and defeat all ipl team in that way his egos will remain and it will be win win situation for both(zee and ipl)
...instead of wasting money like this.

dont u see the vast diff between the compitativeness of both. not even 10%of ppl watched icl where as max cricket loving public watched ipl coz of which it is a hit,and moreover that half head guy chandra with ofground unsuccesfull team of players is pouring so much money to the foreign players who even dont give 10%of their best on grounds, does this make cricket loving indian happy!!!

ICL / IPL
by Sastry Dhavala on Mar 31, 2009 08:31 PM  | Hide replies

ICL should not have come into being, simply because of Subhash Chandra's business interests. Favouritism was rife and still is, in BCCI, which caused deep humiliation among some worthy players, who were repeatedly ignored by both Associations at state level and BCCI at national level, in order to accommodate and promote a few blue eyed boys. The effected players found a vent to their frustrations in ICL. And in fact without ICL IPL would not have been there ICL's advent forced BCCI to start IPL. It copied the blue print of ICL schedules and used its enormous money power to redesign IPL Twenty20 tournaments into a fabulous extravaganza. More and more young players got opportunity to play and earn and mingle with International players. On the whole the fallout of ICL has been good to many seasoned and budding cricketers, either directly or indirectly.

Not today maybe tomorrow

This year again I guess IPL would be a success. And ICL's future is now well written. Aaj nahi to kal ICL bandh hone hi wala hai.
After all koun buddhon ko dekhna chahega???Aur woh bhi kab tak?

ICL is nothing but lure of money to the players viz Inzi, Cairns, Deep Dasgupta. They just wanted to make some good extra money at the end of their career.

These were saner words from BCCI to Chandra. He should have accepted that. Howsoever, ICL may try to hide, in fact it's almost broke.

Subhash Chandra

Subhash Chandra landed a lot of money by sheer accident as he didn't have to work for it. This unearned cash has put some funny ideas in his head and a clueless Kapil Dev is game if there is sufficient mmolah. The retired cricketers league was always there; then why an ICL?

Hello Silk, I am sorry to say that u need some medical attention of what you said. One should feel proud that Genuine cricketers like Kapil Dev and others are with ICL which has startd quite before and then Modi has started copyin it in the name of IPL. We are with ICL and it will go long way. BCCI and IPL are for the people who never played cricket in their life and who knows only MONEY and POWER. Its a big SHAME. Shame on BCCI, shame on IPL.

Hello die-hard Kapil Dev-fan, it should help if you have your head examined; how else does one see this support for a retired dud who in his heyday might have performed well, but that doesn't give him the right to pretend that he has arrogated all the wisdom in the world unto himself.
