I am ashamed
by Truth Teller on Mar 24, 2009 06:02 PM  | Hide replies

I am ashamed. I am not ashamed at IPL moving out of India. Infact I dont give a damn. I am ashamed at how many educated Indians feel about general elections. Voting is one our duties and all these people who crib about their rights never bother to do their duties.

Shifting IPL-2 out of India
by caruthedath gopalakrishnan on Mar 24, 2009 05:42 PM

It is disgusting that because of petty politics, the game is being shifted out of India. In this time of recession all over the world, holding of IPL in India would have helped our economy substantially. It's true that general elections are being held in India. Still, if there was a will and if both the government and BCCI would have co-operated, the game could have still been held in India.

What a loss !

it is satta and not cricket
by dranil on Mar 24, 2009 05:40 PM  | Hide replies

Individual Players Lottery (IPL) is nothing but transfering huge sums into a few accounts and one of the beneficieries is Lalit Modi. God only know how much the little man makes out of each event. Let Government probe into his overseas accounts to see the balance there. The man is childish and immature when it comes to dealing with national problems, like security of the people. however, the same man acts smartly and decisively when he know it is money matters. Let government ban the lottery permenently. no one is infact interested in this stupid game.

Your last two words says it all...ur objection is not with reagrds to IPL, but the game itself. So, if u r not interested in cricket, pls do not watch it...nobody is asking you to but pls do not advice others as we know what to do!

what a shame
by Rajesh Manikkoth on Mar 24, 2009 05:27 PM

What a shame ! These BCCI guys think that they are above god .Can you think about EPL happening in Japan or Spanish League in Dubai ? Are thease so called Franchisee owners not caring about home ground and home crowd ( or does it mean that there is no home crowd for these cricket teams and people of that particular city are not much concerned about the IPL team named for that City ? ) .. Anyway i also oppose these politition asking cricket india managers not to run this tournment during election days due to security reasons.. That shows their confidence level about the country they run for 5 years .. What a shame , this means the government tell all of us openly that we are not safe in india and they are not responsible for our safety .... I am not a big fan of this IPL and really don't care if it happen or not

THE WHOLE COUNTRY IS AT COURTSEY OF EGO OF ONE MAN, LALIT MODI
by vaibhav kumar on Mar 24, 2009 05:25 PM  | Hide replies

Sometimes I wonder, what LALIT MODI want to prove. He is desperate to prove a point, and that point leads him to focus INDIA as a nation in very poor light.

YES, cricket crazy public will love cricket, wherever it is. They are happy sitting in drawing room and watching IPL, rather than going for voting.

YES, corporates and investors will love IPL to take place by any means, for their business interests.

BUT a big NO. LALIT MODI's ridiculous and money minded and anarchial attitude has let world know that INDIA is not safe. Its not that INDIA is not safe, but its a precautionary measure, every country will take with its fragmented society and vicinity to militant attacks.

BUT LALIT MODI ZINDABAD, as he ensured that backboneless countryman want entertainement, and priority of the countries, well, WHO CARES.

What is the big deal if election is postponed for two months and IPL was allowed as scheduled?

Elections can be run any time, but IPL has so much sponsorship, money, players availability, etc.

Government should have understood the situation properly. Elections does not make big difference in India but losing IPL is a big loss to billions of Indians.

Just think, if someone in your family needs your help, but you go for a picnic. They need you and they die, but then you want to enjoy picnic.

What;s a big deal. More children will take birth in your family. It does not make difference if someone dies.

That;s what IPL versus election. For you, election is just antoher think, for tis nation, its life, its the way of running your nation.

If you do not like it, change it for better. DO nOT SHY AWAY from it.

dear vaibhav, have you decided on whom to cast your vote this time???? or rather one whom you will be forced to ink your vote for without much in return.... its the same old lot of politicians who have hardly justified their role to put us on next ladder... the basic needs remain basic and havent been met significantly since 1947.... if the IPL has been re-scheduled twice.... GE can also be re-scheduled once..
