security of all players
by Rajinder Manchanda on Mar 23, 2009 05:38 PM  | Hide replies

Why can't IPL hire the private security agencies to provide security to all national & international teams / players etc when they can earn so much of money from advertisers rather than depending on government's security?
When thay are thinking of changing / shifting the venue of countries to South Africa and / or England, there also lot of money will be spent in organising security, accomodation etc.
When thay are paying so much money to individual players then why not to security agancies. I think India's population is so huge (more than one billion) which is uneducated (in villages) and there are so many private security agancies, who just hire illiterate, unemployed and uneducated personnels who are strong enough to catch hold of few people. This way our own unemployed will be able to earn some money rather than making robberies/thefts here and there.
Please do think.............

In case of any problem and if the private agencies take charge of the situation and in the bargain, if some lives are lost, will the private agencies be spared?

IPL lost a chance..
by ritesh dash on Mar 23, 2009 05:35 PM  | Hide replies

Soldiers do their best when its safe guarding nation's boundary, social activist do their best to safe guard social values, economist do their best when comes to safe guard country's economy, players give their when playing for the team, And its all determined in the point of conflict where you have to take a decision on money or value, words or action, politician or statesman, challenge or failure, mere living or living with reputation.

I believe IPL lost a chance to stand to country for country's sake.

What if crowd of India dis own the brand call IPL.If IPL can't stand upto challenges inside India, let them name it South Africa/Australian Pre... League..

Can they ? They lost a chance..

Electing the MP's and PM is more important
by Puvvada Sekar on Mar 23, 2009 05:29 PM

It's requested all Indian Members participating in IPL out of the country during the election period should be made mandatory that each and every individual shall franchise their mandate. IPL should make all necessary arrangements for Out of station voting either thru mail or email or at the respective foreign embassy.
failing to cast their franchise should be sternly dealt with individuals and severly with the IPL to the extent of conduting tournaments and levying of high penalty from IPL to the Government of India.

Between Elections & IPL

If I have to choose between watching a farcical exercise in which poor illiterate people are promised and conned to get their votes for history sheeters like Pappu Yadav, Shibu Soren, Mukhtar Ansari, DP Yadav or fraudsters like Lalu, Mulayam, Karunanidhi etc and live coverage of IPL, I will any day choose IPL.

I am confident that most Indians will agree with me.

I disagree with you. It is time for voting the BJP to the Govt with complete majority. BJP is to be voted for the reasons that the right people should be living in this country. Those who stay here and support the next door, should be kicked out. These r the people who are bhade ke tattu of Congress, imported by Congress for votes. Now they hv become citizens are a great threat to all true Indians. I never voted in last 20 years, but this time, I go all out for BJP.

Don't you think the Varun gandhi's voice may be voice of many youngster who are fed up with the appeasement policy of congress who have been dividing the country on the line of religion by protecting minorities even if majority of them sing the tune of enemy country and the congress party has supressed majority community to please moniorities for securing all votes of minorities as the majority is a divided house. Even most of the crime and anti-national activites are carried by monirity community but Congress will never utter a single word against them but the moment any member from majority community pore out its anger against this partiality and supressive deed, every body rush for his blood. I think the public and the so-called secular parties and other political parties have voiced against Varun Gandhi so harshly out of political compulsion and partly because of Indian's tolerance nature. People of this country should look into the speech or incident in its entirety as why he choose such words. Is the history of partiality and appeasement of minority not responsible for such outbrust? Don't you think that the repeated involvement of the memebrs of minority community against the country and protection by our political compulsion is responsible for such speech. Human and particularly Indians do not have the nature of hatred but love and respect for all. If things are turning in hatred, we must try to find out the real reason behind such hatred before it is 2 late. JaiHind

Giving statements is easy like calling elections as a farcical exercise. Have you studied in your school days that right to vote is one of the fundamental rights of a citizen of India. If you have balls, take an initiative to eradicate these corrupt politicians by educating people elect the politicians of their choice. If you are above 21 years and do not vote by watching an IPL match, then you are a traitor as your vote will be misused by someone else.
Only foolish people co-relate IPL and elections. One who understands the true importance of elections do not comment on govt's decision not to provide security.
One more clarification to the people who think that state govt's have denied security to IPL just to give divert these forces to protect politicians is incorrect. It is to extend the security for the people who go to exercise their right to vote.

I little disappointed with his attitude...If he plays at Lords for India, why can't he play at Lords for Mumbai IPL team? Does it mean that he is not giving equal importance to IPL 20-20 league??

He is disappointed for the cricket loving Indian public. They will miss the action. Plus playing in front of cheering Indian fans is totally different as opposed to playing in a different nation.

BJP Hasn't Got Any Other Issue
by adesh datt on Mar 23, 2009 05:19 PM  | Hide replies

Ithink it's a wise decision to hold IPL outside India due the dates clashing with Elections and ofcourse at the same time IPL can not be postponed either. Obvisiously Elections got the priority over IPL thoug we all are sad it's being moved outside. But the heartning fact is that these BJP pappus are now making issue out of it. Just for their political gain they want to put every Indian security at stake. They just want see some mishappening during IPL if it is organized in India so that they can gain something out of it.

Please don't make it a Congress-BJP issue. If you want to make it, it is Congress who is forcing a big loss for the Indian spectators, loss of revenue for security (which can be easily provided), loss of Income tax, and moreover reduction of forex reserves coz now we pay in GBPs which 85 bucks a piece. So thanks to the UPA Govt for all these losses.

what happens to national pride mr. tendulkar?
by dranil on Mar 23, 2009 05:18 PM  | Hide replies

All say Sachin is icon..the most respected indian cricketer(?). Iam sure he will play in IPL wherever the BCCI shifts the game. If he is true patriotic and some one who respect the game the most, he should say no to IPL if it is really moving out of India citing security resons. but he will not do so for the temptation of millions that he earns will always remain. Why give publicity to his thoughts? he is as common as any other player when it comes to money.
