IPL

It is bloody ridiculous to make the IPL match as a very big issue than the General election!
Their motive is not promoting the game, but make money out of the game! Let them spent the money to arrange the security on their own, without requesting the Govt ( provided it is acceptable to the Govt Rules) or Just post pone the matches after the election! Why the hurry to talk the nonsense of shifting the game elswhere - this is just challenge to the govt and mischeivous - such things should be handled strongly by the Home Ministry. J.Rajiah

FACT- we have one of the LARGEST paramilitary and military force in the world.

FACT - Still we are unable to organise a sport with our election.

FACT - It could have generated a lot of income to poor & middle class directly and indirectly involved with game, transportation and hotel, infact central govt. as tax.

Inference ? ? ?

Rosy, please do not look at the rosy side of things.Sometime analyse certain facts from others angle too.
Yous FACT No.1- We have the biggest force
I agree. But our democratic system demands Forces to be provided all most all political leaders-They runs into lakhs- Now the bilateral relation with our neighbour is not so rosy.So we can not withdraw a single jawan from border.
FACT No.2 We are able to organise any event except in Apr-Middle of May since, our Biggest event of the Biggest Democracy is to take place in that period.
FACT3: IPL is not a game.It is sort of gambling, as HM puts it"A shrewd combination of Game and Business.Poor is not going to benefit and the money collected will be distributed among Players Team Owners and the BCCI Officials."Yeh Duniya Bahut Karab hai beta Jaisa Dikte Aisa Nahim"

Can't believe that IPL is moving to another country instead of getting cancelled at a time like this.
In recession, if anyone should make money on IPL , it should be Indians

Every one knows IPL is more than a game. Its entertainment. Lots of money..Then what bcz of money only we manage to survive. Otherwise what happen to other games?
We always fill proud calling India a big country with huge potential to lead world
I think we (most of) all love Cricket and so as IPL
We all know IPL can be only held between April and May
We all know election is the prime important activity for all Indian and so as the govt.
Being an Indian. Can we answer some question wisely?
Can’t Govt provide security to both Events?
Whether Govt does not wann take chance? If yes.Why.Whats reason?
IPL is going out...No worries…but what kind of impression we want to give?
Its not question between Congress and BJP. Its question of being a proud Indian
I think govt. indirectly want to say you all Indian are bhagavan barose.Becasue government is not capable enough to provide enough security to its citizen. Which is basic right of the people of India?

Elections compared against IPL. What a JOKE!
by Desiraj on Mar 23, 2009 05:44 PM  | Hide replies

Only foolish people co-relate IPL and elections. One who understands the true importance of elections do not comment on govt's decision not to provide security.
One more clarification to the people who think that state govt's have denied security to IPL just to give divert these forces to protect politicians is incorrect. It is to extend the security for the people who go to exercise their right to vote.

Desiraj,, its not about co-relating elections to IPL but the other way round....co-relating IPL to elections.........in cricket you cannot make more money than what you can in India........let IPL shift anywhere but the kind of money involved when you are in India is always much much bigger than any other country.......and all intelligent cricket fans are making a hue and cry, not because of the govt but for the decision of IPL committee.........elections are anyways much much more important..........peronally I am sure that both the things could have been arrangaed with a slight change in the IPL schedule......now that it has been decided to go to some other country it hardly makes a difference......

True Nikhil. We both are on the same page. BCCI should have postponed IPL for this year so that revenue is generated for India and not for any other country.

BCCI is ANti-India and pro-business. BAN IPL!!
by ARNAB MUKHERJEE on Mar 23, 2009 05:41 PM  | Hide replies

Outsourced cricket. What next?

Like I said before: BAN IPL when you still have time!

India is world's largest democracy, and here election is considered as "Bharat Mata Ki Puja". This gujju Lalit Modi and his ilk has no respect for our nation and have their eye on the cash only.

BAN IPL, or remove the word Indian from its name.

Shame shame BCCI, shame shame.

by Shaji Thankachan on Mar 23, 2009 05:41 PM

Absolutly.... the decision which the Govt. has taken is absolutly correct.. The protection of the people is more important than IPL... Especialy by this situation... We already got the information about the terrerist attack chance in the Election time... What foolishness is doing by the ICC ??? If the ICC is contecting IPL for Indian Cricket fans, they have to postpond the Matchs...
