BCCI and itd affiliate bodies
by Kiran on Mar 05, 2009 08:22 PM

BCCI and its affiliate bodies(all statunits) are all farse. All of them together loot the fans and there is no proper accounting as all are Honarary persons . No responsibility is on them especially money matters. Hence IPL should be banned forever and cricket in india should be run professionally.

CRICKET SHOULD BE BANNED FOR EVER IN OUR COUNTRY.PUBLIC SECURITY IS THE FIRST PREFERENCE.ALREADY POLITICAL LEADERS CONSUMED MORE THAN HALF SECURITY STAFF MEANT FOR US, , IF CRICKET ALSO TAKES, WHERE WE WILL STAND ?
IF IT HAPPENS, THEY HAVE TO ARRANGE THEIR OWN SECURITY AND GOVT SHOULD NOT PROVIDE FOR THEM.

General elections are important than IPL. This tournament is going to benefit only 10-20 thousand people. There is comparison with General Elections.

IPL should not be held. All BBCI power brokers will fight for it. Sharad Pawar and P. Chidambaram will be at logger-heads. National security takes precedence and that's the right thing to do

Seriously IPL is waste of time. Will disturb all students answering exams during those days.
Lalit Modi simply talks, can he provide full proof security.

IPL and Elections

I think if Lahore had not happened, still IPL would have been in doubt. The simple reason is that it clashes with General Elections. We all know that this is the largest election exercise in the world and security is a concern. So in any case IPL has to be postponed. Now that Lahore has hapeened, it becomes all tne more necessary to postpone it. But postponement in this case is a euphemism as it cannot be held later due to the international cricket calendar

Where does IPL money go?
by R on Mar 05, 2009 07:36 PM

One thing is not clear. Finally, who earns the cricket money, whether it is IPL or the usual cricket matches. It is well understood that a lot of money is collected. The Indian citizens are the customers. I can visualize if the Indian Sports Ministry organize these cricket matches instead of BCCI, the entire money will go to the Indian Sports Ministry. This will make government rich instead of making BCCI and cricketers rich. Why not? The citizens will identify with Sports Ministry more than BCCI that is a private body that exploits the countryman for the financial benefit of BCCI, and cricketers.

IPL greedy not worried about country's image
by sowelimedu rajan on Mar 05, 2009 07:33 PM

No body imagined that sri lankan cricketers would be targetted. The terrorists got the needed publicity. Now IPL in their greed want to present them more chances to glorify themselves. The country's prestige and honour will be stake. The same IPL bosses, in their greed, would not mind to put country's honour and prestige at stake. What type of fellows these are?
