In my opinion IPL should go ahead. We should not stop such great event just because few bunch of idiots are trying to teach us how to lead our life. We should let them know that their satanic works will never frighten the freedom loving people around the world.

Security of common people during the election process is more important than IPL. Nothing is going to happen if the PIL is postponed to some suitable dates after completion of Election.

ELECTIONS FIRST, THEN IPL ETC.
by sizzler sizzler on Mar 05, 2009 11:18 PM

The person who thinks that Mr. P Chidambaram is just joking when he says that IPL should be postponed, are really out of there mind or traitors. Lalit Modi, irrespective of which political party he hails from, is a selfish businessman who would put to stake even national security for fulfilling his international commitments, and that too for the games which are nothing but high-stake gambling in the garb of T20 cricket. What do you think Mr.Modi was doing in Macau of all the places?

could this be so
by Devdutt Nayak on Mar 05, 2009 09:17 PM

the ipl and icl were taking bcci ahead of the mcc and ecb

now teams get an excuse to avoid the subcontinent! If colonial thought still dominates the racist MCC/ECB / county cricket chiefs ....

i'm not saying anything, we know nothing of who did this, but just a thought - since the british were masters at butchering economic competition - they killed or maimed native weavers so that their cloth made in english looms would be the only one sold. Britain is not the same today, but economic wars have often resulted in military attacks in the reign of the British. It is important to realise that only 60 years have passed, not more. just two generations. Centuries-old mindsets don't change in that short a time.

Yes it should be held

Yes, it should be held because a country cannot come to a stand still just because of elections. Further, why do the politicians need such high-end security. They are public servants and should stay like general public i.e. without any security

Whats yo problem yaar... Is it so damn desparate need that we need to have an IPl whatsoever on schedule??

With the economy touching such untold lows, the need of the moment is a good governance and IPL crap is not a thing to be given prominance too...

brother not conducting IPL for recession is a diff reson but not conducting it for security reasons and that too when u r diverting security towards politicians its a wrong thing.

Further only non-performers are getting laid off...performers are still earning high

dont mind have u lost ur job?

My Dear Jason,
One thing should be understood that security is being deployed not for the politicians, but for the common people who come out to the election rallies, to meetings, to election booths for voting etc...

I hope you have less updates regarding the slow down, Non performers are laid off as they should be laid off. What bout the performers... they are not earning high any more. almost every company has announced there are no appraisals for this yr.. and some companies like hexaware, infy tcs have planned to restructure the pay b bringing them down..

so recession and security both are unfavourable to IPL in current scenario

If I have lost my job because of non-performance (decided by the company) does it make it any less painful?

so you mean a cricketer should be security as he is playing IPL, for money and only money. But the common man dont need security when he is going to polling booth for voting. if you r intelligent think again, who needs security ?

Support other games instead of cricket

Never.
Why do you concentrate on cricket only? Help other games to grow. Why not national game hockey matches are held in same manner?

Just a thought.
you will support your son or your neighbor's son first? of course yours. So if Lalit Modi is smart enough to come up with a concept like IPL and actually execute it, why cant hockey veterans do it to hockey? Likewise with football, basketball, etc. everyone who wants to see thing in bigger picture has to work for it and not just talk like about it. Personally I enjoy watching cricket more than any other games. I totally respect each and every game. Cheers!
