Latest, to make T20 more interesting, in fact roaringly interesting, every team will be allowed to field 2 dogs along with fielders to chase the ball, if there is a tie, then Dogs will fight with the balls & decide the winner...

Guys.....It was a simple question by media
by Indian Saint on Jun 10, 2009 01:09 PM  | Hide replies

All captains answer abt fitness of key players. This is true for all countries incl India till now.

Guys.....It was a simple straight forward question by media to Dhoni.
When the question was finished, the manager is answering......when media said Dhoni was asked, Dhoni said that BCCI will answer.
Why can't Dhoni give a simple answer to a simple question.

correct.
media might b wrong in their priorities n responsibilities.but here the question is- if nothing is wrong then dhoni(or BCCI) mst explain clearly abt the injury of sehwag. the main mystery is- in which match sehwag got shoulder injury?

Cheap Media tricks to gain publicity...
by rohan nambiar on Jun 10, 2009 01:02 PM

I still dont understand what is media trying to achieve from this Sehwag-Dhoni issue. They should keep all this issue away from the team until the world cup gets over. From all this the confidence of captain is getting dented. A person like dhoni who never loses cool is getting annoyed and restless. This can effect our team's performance as well.
When will our media get some commonsense and act responsibly. If our team fares bad in this world cup then media has a major hand in that. For god sake ask these stupid journalist to think about wht they are doing and what they will achieve.

Please note that dhoni is made superstar only by media.
ordinary player with extraordinary luck, overhyped by media & given unnecessary crdit for his captaicy for all indian win. Any captain is as good as team which is clear from his IPL captaincy.
Once made superstar by media, he started criticizing even greats like sachin, dravid etc though he has not achieved anything near to them.
So same media is giving him other side also. Nothing wrong in that.

not slaves really but if you call them 'contracted professionals' perhaps they won't have a problem with that.

media vs dhoni
by poonur ravi on Jun 10, 2009 12:49 PM

The powerful media or a section of it has been cornered...rebuked...and stands chastised.Dhoni has the wider support. Obviously the chastised media ( some of it) is not going to take it lying down.. they have a point to prove..The sad thing is that difference in opinion among seniors is being blown out as a rift

Media media media............when they will STOP
by manish prasad on Jun 10, 2009 12:47 PM

Well its realy bad that a national no 1 newspaper like TOI has issued this type of article . Just to increase their sale but not keeping in mind the current situation (World Cup).Rather incouraging the Indian team Captain who has performed so well trough out as a captain and as a team member.
I think we should stop purchasing the products of all those media companies who publish all these kind of rubbish issues .
And as far as DHONI is concerned he is correct in what he is doing . A leader should have some Attitude and should be able to make his own decisions without anybody's infulence..............
Get going Dhoni and Team
Bring the world cup once again
Best of Luck....

why this ruckus
by krishna v on Jun 10, 2009 12:45 PM

Sehwag's injury, rift, etc. is all media orchestrated. In my view,Sehwag should have been dropped in the first place. He has a disaster called IPL.and replacing sehwag with rohit sharma is a brilliant move by Dhoni. Now that under his leadership, if india is moving away from being player centric to team centric what is the problem.who gives best should be in the team.no past performances,no statures maatter here.unfortuantely some people in media including past players dont like this India that Dhoni is building.and are influencing the media. a lot has been said about him coming at 1 down.if we can protect wickets from falling in middle overs in a heap, by playing a bit cautiously in the middle overs, whats the issue ? in all 2020 matches we have seen, quick wickets cost lot of damage, australia got knocked out just becuase of this.so playing cautiously that too an experienced player like dhoni is not a bad idea and moreover he can change gears anytime. We the people of india back you dhoni completely.do what you feel is best for the country, which you have been doing all the time.Thanks.

Hound selectors
by Gopinath on Jun 10, 2009 12:43 PM

Indian media behaviour is Churlish & stupid. Dhoni is not responsible for fitness. What he said is appropriate.
Aussies had great turmoil with Symo incident & team being knocked out of T20. They are behaving in far more decent and dignified way. Media has a right to criticize and question selection but that can be after the tournament, but to hound and do so during tournament shows the juvenile attitide of the journalist, who think that they are lords of the ring. They should give space to the team & the management when they are in middle of the tournament.
Instead chase Srikanth and ask him all these questions.
