The media is acting in a responsible way. Making fuss out of every issue. Now Dhoni is the captain and part of team management. He will do what deems fit for the success of the team. Every media person has a bias and one cannot justify to each of them. Dhoni's primary aim is to retain the T20 cup. He delivers goods. That is important. Who plays and who does not play is not the issue here. These media people are younger crop generation with immatured reasoning make hill out of a mole. You and I cannot go and play there. Why make a fuss for nothing. Dhoni is right. Best of luck to him!

A ploy against team India !!
by Mandeep Kumar on Jun 10, 2009 12:22 PM  | Hide replies

Guys,India undoubtedly is the strongest team in the tournament..If it plays to about 70% of its potential ,then the trophy will definitely be ours !! I think these issues including the rifts within the team, verbal fight b/n media and dhoni have been deliberately cropped up by media personnel from other countries possibly pakistan, just to tamper the mental stability of the captain and thereby the entire team !! The only effect that this might have ,is team Indias loss inspite of its high potential and we the spectators definitely dont need it !! thus i urge each and every indian to condemn the media personnel whoever did it and help the team to get back the trophy !!

strongest team you mean the one who will win the trophy based on match fixing. If so or otherwise , your BCCI team will never win

Wow! So why isn't the Indian media behind the Pakistani media instead of targeting Dhoni? Isn't it their responsibility?

I was referring to "media personnel from other countries possibly pakistan," and tried to believe you were right but then suddenly this question cropped up in my mind that if it was the Pakistani media behind this then being an Indian who should take the responsibility on our Indian behalf... and the answer to me was of course the Indian media, their counterpart. Did I make myself clear sir?

well grover !! when i said "possibly pakistan" , i meant to say that out many possibilities ,it might be pakistan bcoz we know that they hate to see India prosper !! u feel its indian media out of many possibilities , i cant rule that out either !! if others say it was srilankan or bangladeshi , even then no one an rule those out ... these are mere possibilities and probabilities !!

Media Morons
by rohit Rj on Jun 10, 2009 12:14 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni is doing the right things while handling the media. I saw his press confrence and I don't find it arrogant at all, the media guys were repeatidly asking the question about Sehwag's fitness, Dhoni choose not to answer this question.
Last time when he answered the same question these media guys started running the silly story of rift between Sehwag and Dhoni.

Dhoni is right in handling these media morons, he should concentrate on winning the cup rather than these stupid media people

Simple way to punish them is stop watching such news channels and reading those newspapers.. which just write gossips or shows some cooked-up news in sensational and irresponsible way.

Dhoni vs. media
by badrinath sp on Jun 10, 2009 12:11 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni is perfectly right in his action as ultimate decision about Sehwag lies with BCCI. So it is the appropriate body to inform the media about inclusion/non-inclusion of Sehwag in the T-20 team. Media thinks of itself to no end and behaves in a very autocratic way. It should respect the institutions and the system if it wants respect from them.

Media should learn when to keep silent
by Indian on Jun 10, 2009 12:10 PM

Media can play its important & constructive role by learning that it is not correct to interfere where interference can be advantageous to a greater cause. However, today there is a race for getting news at any cost ... they are hardly worried how it would harm the greater interests if a half-cooked, Half-true story becomes public.

The way media has publicized the so-called tiff between Shehwag & Dhoni is highly irresponsible. In a highly competitive tournaments like World Cup, it is a game of nerves. If media comes out with anything which embarrasses the Captain of the Indian Team, it cannot be called a responsible act.

The great Indian media should know their right size.
by Grover Omprakash on Jun 10, 2009 12:04 PM

But why can't the media respect what the India captain says? I mean where did the necessity arise to create this hype of 'rift' between two senior players and the captaincy issues etc.? The team is doing well, Dhoni is not only captaining well but playing well also (check his average and just refresh the definition of 'average' what it actually means) the team looks set to win the cup so is that a problem if things go smooth?

y there is a mystery
by deewaker pandey on Jun 10, 2009 11:56 AM  | Hide replies

the reason which makes this dhoni-sehwag-media incident an issue is that- BCCI or team management did nt told clearly abt the injury.whtever media is doin its different thing bt can any1 tell me wht is the nature of sehwag injury and hw he got injured? in which match he got injured?y this mystery is created? if all this question have been answered to media clearly, it would hv shut the mouth of media ppl. it is proving tht something is goin wrong with team. n indian media is expert enough to make a smaller thing big hype.and the bottomline is that- team will suffer bcoz of it and no 1 else.

wht i means to say tht it mst b clearly told to media abt the injury to avoid any kind of controversy. our media is strong enough n capable of making a small issue to a big hype n thts the reason dhoni-sehwag-media event becomes n issue n finally affecting the team. hopes u hv understood now.
