Was it That teh lankans chickened out or was it an Honest,accident/ mistake.
Well lets be clear a about a few things the pitch was a nasty one and if the Lankans had made 150, it would have been difficult for us to chase.
Second its great to be revenue powerhouse in world cricket, but its embarassing when you churn such blockbuster blunder after blunder from time-time,whats even more irritating is when you try to side step and try to pass it on to somebody else.

we alll agree on the fact that the pitch was not on par with international standards---Being the administrative wing of the cricket board it was your duty to provide with International standard pitches ( i dont particularly care if its batting friendly or bowling) the key word is a playable pitch-----------So get the fact right THE BUCK STOPS WITH YOU- I want you take responsibility and not moral responsibility, take responsibility, put your hands up and say you screwed up-Period
Get it right the next time--NO excuses please--we can see through it and you cant fool us with it.

DDCA own up the moral responsibility
by gu on Dec 29, 2009 10:01 AM  | Hide replies

DDCA owns up the moral responsibility and sacks those people responsible Kotla Fiasco.

People who have been sacked are as below :
Ramu Kaka, Ram barose the maali and two other who did not water the pitch well because of which it resulted in uneven bounce. Sacking of these people will be big lesson for all those people who take their jobs lightly.
In the AGM it has been decided that DDCA will hire top class maali's whose prior experience are working in the lawn of Mr Arun Jaitley and Chetan Chauhan.

They will now play blame game, but both are accountable for the pitch. Its not their personal problem it has left India shameful on international stage once again.

chauhan rightly said the lankans reluctant to continue afraid of facing another defeat (humilating one) In the beginning westindies are really fast bowlers and sending beamers against us. gavaskar and Nari contractor too injured against such fast bowling. i can remeber nari contractor injured in his back of the head the scull was operated on in west indies itself. then only the so many guards appeared for the players. very very bad on the part of lankans. At that time nobody complaint about the pitch.

Kumaraswami:

There is a difference between dangerous "bowlers" and a dangerous pitch. :)

I'm sure you will eventually understand it some day. :)

Lankans cant play on bouncy wickets
by Chat on Dec 29, 2009 09:24 AM  | Hide replies

Lankans cant play on bouncy wickets & thts y they termed this pitch as dangerous. Remember sometime back Aussies termed Wankhede pitch as not of the internartional standard after getting defeted frm india on the 5 th day. Aussies were not able to make 117 runs & were eventually bundled out on 93.

i agree with you mr. Chat, Australia cannot play on Indian Test surfaces and SriLanka and Pakistan on Australian and New Zealand surfaces and boost themselves as great teams. India, on the other hand, have shown great progress on NZ and Aus pitches.

Chat:

Lankans can't play on bouncy wickets.

Australians cannot play on dust bowls.

But our Indian heroes can play on any sort of surface and then crib that "only one side plays in the spirit of the game".. :)

;-)...

Sample any cricketing topic on Rediff, and you'll find enough references to that test as if there were no tests before it and they've stopped making tests after it. :)

Chauhan, now you have have become a through Politicians. I was expecting these words, becasue for a politician money is important.
Unfortunately Chauhan forgot he was elected because of his identity as a Cricketer.

DDCA is Passing the Buck
by Aliasger Badshah on Dec 29, 2009 09:19 AM

Its unfortunate that the DDCA representatives want to shift blame on the SriLankan cricketers. It was visually obvious that the pitch was not in good condition and I dont understand that what looked like most Indian Rural Roads in the 24th OVer would have lasted the 100 overs.
I dont think that if a score of 150 was made by the visitors;would have been surpassed by Team India(or any other team for that matter)
The DDCA should ponder hard on thier own self before blaming others and use some of the money on the cricket then filling Mr Arun Jaitly's Pockets
