Why Dhoni kept himself out from the Test series against Sri Lanka, where India lost badly, he told clearly that he is tired due to just completed IPL and will take rest.
At that time, where was the intensity of player to perform on the field....fact is that every player (at least Indian) wants to do good batting and bowling, be it Test or ODI or IPL, because he knows that if he will score then only he can be in the team and as long as he will stay there in the team he has chances of playing lots of tournament and earning money.
The objective is not winning match(s) or series for team and nation....but the idea is to be there in the team. And if you talk about India being no. 1 in Test ranking and about Indian Players being top in ICC ranking then,
- Though its a moment of joy for me also as India is no. 1 in test, but I know they don't deserve because they have not hunger to win matches to put team and nation on the top of the world...they have hunger for money and fame (they can have lots of ads)
- India players are on top in ICC ranking...I have already told you the reason of Dhoni's intention of playing at 3rd down....I appreciate Gambhir he deserves he is more sound with his technique and skill like Sachin and Dravid.
I think Arjuna is spot on. And, come on guys, he criticizing India. He is pointing out the b*st*rdization of Indian cricket by few people. The cricketers are not machines that can play for 100 days a year. IPL is to be blamed for Zaheer and Sehwag's injuries during T20 world cup.
It is only human nature that when there is money and national pride, people will always choose the first.
Murali is a chucker no doubt about it,every ball he chucks and its soooo obvious that Ranatunga used Race as a excuse to get Murali out of it,Ranatunga is not only jealous he cant make money like current players he also wants to create rift between BCCI and IPL as players will be forced to choose one pretty soon...

Its not a new thing that wrong people are in Cricket. The concept of BCCI needs to understand. Its a private body for influential and wealthy body.So,even if T20 exists or not,they'll be there.Next, T20 is successful everywhere although ths came later in India.Test matches have different importance.Be this Modi or others, so much depends upon the individual player. Like, Ponting is prefers Test and ODI. No one is forcing him to play T20.Such things happens with everyone in any field.But everyone needs to set his/her priorities. One classic example is Tennis. Many players dont play for the Davis Cup but prefers Grand Slams.Sometime, that worth important.Regarding, Arjuna Ranatunga, he is a frustrated and ill mannered guy. He is always an oppononant to India or Indians.He always talks abt Pakkis as he knows our relation are not better. He was the man who supported last Lanka Tour but said not a single word when Blast happend.When he was given the Lanka team management, it was full of fight and controversies.There are many Court cases running against him, some criminal cases as well.When you talk to him,he'll never discuss on positives but on negatives he has many stocks.Becoz he was a captain of WC winner team, his mistakes r forgiven.So, Mr Arjuna, rather than to blame someone, try to do something so that people count you.And Donn give the reference of yours time. please grow up man, Did modi play for India. If your playing 11 did not play well how do you expect indians to win. the second rung Indian batting was exposed in t20. they are great players in flat indian tracks not on bouncing tracks.

First rung or second rung, it does not matter. This whole Indian team is good on flat surfaces in bi-lateral series only which is heavily manipulated through money by the big boss BCCI.
In competitive tournaments (Except 2007 T20 WC) this Team India has failed to win a single major tournament - They failed in ICC CT 2005 and 2009, 2009 T20 WC and WC2007 as first round crashers.
BCCI cn force foreign country to prepare flat surfaces to suit Team India, but can not build the temperament to win competitive cricket.
Ya Its true that T20 is based on a particular player's day. i.e How a particular player is playing on that particular day. But the thing is in today's fast moving world no one has time to watch the whole 5 day Test Match. And T20 is very exciting since the game ends early and see the shorts which players try to hit on every ball. So No need to blame modi.
