You cannot stop Sachin
by rajoo iyer on Aug 06, 2009 09:25 PM  | Hide replies

I was watching the great players like Sunil Gavaskar, Sobers. Border, Clive Lyoyd, Richards and the like for many years. But Sachin is different from others. Watching him playing as a 15 year old boy pelting wolrd's the then best off spinner Abdul Qadir for 27 runs at karachi before hostile crowd - from that day to till date - there is no stopping of Sachin. None of the great players after the great Don had to play amidst the expectation of a nation of a billion people and Sachin was always the target by any team and they felt that if they get rid of Sachin they could get rid of India. Such was the fear psychosis this great legend created among some of the best bowlers like share Warne who once expressed his nightmarish experience after bowling to Sachin. Most of the critics of Sachin usually grumble about chance for youngsters. If they are really talented Sachin factor cannot affect them. When Sachin was a young boy - there were legends like Gavaskar and kapil Dev - but no one cried foul in those days as they do now. I also observe that only those who failed in their official, personal or professional life cry with contempt whenever they speak of Sachin becoz
Sachin is the only guy who sustained the pressure of time for two decades and still stay as a threat. We should be proud of our national hero - someone who could unite a country of a billion peole beyond race and religion - let young generation learn his success story - succeed and stay there.

I totally agree with you. I agree that he is great player.

But the real reason for his popularity or expectation is that
when sachin was playing we dont have great players or match winners so he was only match winner for us and become popular.

But now things totally changed, we have 3-4 match winners. So now days nobody care whether sachin get 5 runs or 50 runs bz we rely on other match winners like yuvi or dhoni or gambir.

In the last two years, India has won 20 ODIs among 37 matches where Sachin has played. Here are the list of MOM awards

Dravid - 1
Ganguly - 1
Tendulkar - 4
Dhoni - 3
Karthik - 1
Yuvraj - 2
Ishant - 2
Praveen Kumar - 2
Sehwag - 2

Jayasuriya and Sangakkara won the other 2 awards when India won. As you see Sachin still is the biggest match winner when he is on the field

15000 runs quite within reach of sachin
by adil palia on Aug 06, 2009 09:14 PM

D ear Sachin,
I am too a die hard fan of SMG and his 3D ADVICE to achieve goal is quite true and practical. There is still lot of fire to blow out from ur blade to reached the coveted 15000 test runs. and at the same time shut the mouths of critics who just dont understand what cricket is? and what an enormous talent of batting is still left in yourself.
Hope U will not let me down. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS U DEAR. CARRY ON AND ON .....AND ..ON.
ADIL PALIA. SURAT.

youngsters
by Binit Shroff on Aug 06, 2009 09:12 PM

R ur youngsters have that potentialto replace sachin. We saw them in south africa & west indies they could not play short deliveries so BCCI has to look for seniors and they are prooving they r best.

Sachin reserves his seat in Indian Team till he gets 15000 runs
by Jagannath Shetty on Aug 06, 2009 08:49 PM  | Hide replies

What a pity for India? People donot want to vacate their seats for youngsters. Sachin, please get out and give way to another promising youngster. Don't hold on like Lata Mangeshkar did for Indian Music. But for media explosion, Lata would have still carried Indian Music to ransom. I do admire her music. A great talent. But get out at the right age and give time to the youngsters please. Do not step into Sunil Gavaskar's boot for God's sake and for the sake of Indian cricket.

damn ... what a tard. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD , NAME THE SO CALLED YOUNGSTERS THAT ARE BETTER THAN TENDY BUT ARE NOT GETTING THE CHANCE. Oh by the way, dimwit , you would need atleast 4-5 players to be replaced before you can make such stats. Sachin is not the weakling in the team, there are plenty of players with lower calibre who have to be replaced before you get to Sachin. You are a god d@mn tard

1. He reserved his place for another 5 yrs minimum.
2. He totally jealous ponting reaching him closer.

Sachin got nothing to achieve more but bz of he scared of what to do next after retirement, he still sticking into it.

Except some of the fields politics and business, doesnt matter whether u prefer or not, one day u have to retire.

In india only why people never want to retire - any field u take, people litterally wont go out unless u throw them out.

Create a new post for Sachin Tendulkar as non playing player and give 30% of the runs scored by all batsman to Sachin..So Sachin can score 15000 runs ans record and a youngster will get a chance to play for India also...I want BCCI to think about it

Have you studied history of India? Go check Tippu's history at least in wikipedia and you will find out how badly Marathas were defeated by Tippu. Tippu defeated them 2 times and the third time, they had to join hands with the enemy, Britishers to beat him, still Tippu was not killed in a battle but backstabbed, so don't be happy or don't be in a great jai Maratha mood shameless Maratha, when rest of India says Gandhi is the father of the nation, you guys say Godse, there tells the story of your proudness

I don't see your reply anywhere. I am not generalizing Marathis, but unfortunately the Marathis that I have seen so far as pro-Indian, which is good, but whatever you talk about India, they think they are the ones who built it, like for example Indian cricket, they think Mumbai XI team would be better than Indian XI team and they refuse to accept the history of Tippu, which is not okay because it is just history and they don't accept the past that they were buted by Tippu.

although i dont like to get into these sorts of agruements, i must remind u that kapil dev was not a marathi, but from the community which is flickered most in ur bollywood. but he too went on to get the record when he was not competent in any ways to continue in test cricket. 1993 - 94 season .
