Take that Bollywood
by Avinash Kadam on Apr 20, 2009 10:05 AM  | Hide replies

First day-first show, quite often decides the fate of a movie and its stars. The first round of IPL was no different and perhaps has decided the box-office fate. What is common between Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab, teams? The Bollywood connection, of course!

Please, please, please Preety, have some mercy on your team. Everybody knows you have a pretty face and you love talking and talking and talking. You have charmed and confused your players so much that bechare abhi tak samaz rahe hai ki “Jaadoo from Koi Mil Gaya” will win the matches for them. Let them get back to their sensibilities; else, day is not far when they will come to the ground wrapped in only Bombay Dyeing towels.

SRK took a shot at Sunil Gavaskar and humiliated Saurav Ganguly. Seriously SRK, if you don’t want to further jeopardise your team’s prospects, leave the players alone.Don’t behave as if you are on a film set and the cricketers are spot-boys at your beck and call. Lagata hai, SRK will soon have to open Billu Barber’s shop in South Africa. Will be a great fun to see SRK doing bin paani ki hajamat of John Buchannan.

Shilpa, this a real game and not a reality show. You should do what you are good at; sack the cheer girls and take the stage yourself. Your next item number with Lalit Modi “Mein to aaye hoo IPL ko lutne” will no doubt be a big hit.

But the fact remains..KKR is playing with 10 players plus one negative factor Ganguly.
That is why the team looks handicapped.

Why these are there in IPL
by Nayak Nayak on Apr 20, 2009 10:00 AM  | Hide replies

I wonder why these snails Ganguly and Akash Chopra are there in IPL? May be Dravid Kumble and Sachin still have class but Ganguly has forgotten cricket. Akash Chopra is very slow even in Test Cricket standard. I wonder who bought him and why??

Ganguly even does not deserve place in team leave captaincy.

Kolkata Knight Riders - Twenty20 matches 2008
Ganguly is the player who wasted more balls in last IPl
Summery of strike rates of players taken as batsman
Umar Gul Runs 39 Strike rate 205.26
McCullum Runs 188 Strike rate 204.34
Saha Runs 159 Strike rate 133.61
Shukla Runs 163 Strike rate 133.60
Hussey Runs 319 Strike rate 123.16
Butt Runs 193 Strike rate 119.87
T Taibu 31 Runs Strike rate 119.23
Agarkar Runs 54 Strike rate 117.39
Ganguly Runs 349 Strike rate 113.68
Kartik Runs 30 Strike rate 111.11
Das Runs 17. Strike rate 109.57
Sharma Runs 11 Strike rate 100.00

in 52nd match Played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on 25 May 2008 when Kings XI Punjab was sure of Semi's birth and it was clear that Kolkata Knight Riders will not go to semi's ganguly scored 86 not out his usual style of scoring not out in irrelevant matches to boost averages.

He wasted more balls and made task difficult for others.

and MOM against weak opponents like DC & RC or in irrevelant match? hoot....
Llife should be efforts to win match for a good cricketer.

Does Saurav know that?

IPL 2009 start 1 run in 12 balls.
Just not capable

Team Strategy

After winning the toss, the KKR think tank decided to bat first after a rain delay in SA! Robin Jackman who was the presenter at the toss, was surprised and even asked Brendon McCullum as to what prompted him to take the decision that he did. Of course, choosing to ball first would have still exposed the inept batting display had the ball swung the way it did in the first innings, but still, it goes onto show the brilliance of the think-tank. Less of thinking, more of tanking on the cricket field!
