Genius

Sachin is a genius and all Indians should be proud of having him. He has made Indians confident in their own capabilities.
Hope you play for many more years.

Quotes on Sachin
by renjit varghese on Oct 17, 2008 10:53 PM  | Hide replies

Beneath the helmet, under that unruly curly hair, inside the cranium, there is something we don’t know, something beyond scientific measure. Something that allows him to soar, to roam a territory of sport that, forget us, even those who are gifted enough to play alongside him cannot even fathom. When he goes out to bat, people switch on their television sets and switch off their lives.
- BBC Sports, on Sachin Tendulkar
Commentators
“Technically, you can’t fault Sachin. Seam or spin, fast or slow - nothing is a problem”
- Geoffrey Boycott.
“There’s no doubt about it. He is the best”
- Tony Grieg.
Bowlers
If I’ve to bowl to Sachin, I’ll bowl with my helmet on. He hits the ball so hard.
- Dennis Lillee
“Don’t bowl him bad balls, he hits the good ones for fours”
- Michael Kasprowicz.
. You might pitch a ball on the off stump and think you have bowled a good ball and he walks across and hits it for two behind midwicket. His bat looks so heavy but he just waves it around like it’s a toothpick.
- Brett Lee
“Cricketers like Sachin come once in a lifetime, and I am privileged he played in my time”
- Wasim Akram
“I still think Tendulkar is the best batsmen in the world ahead of Steve Waugh and Lara”
- Glenn McGrath.

Batsmen
The pressure on me is nothing as compared to Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin, like God, must never fail. The crowd always expects him to succeed and it is too much pressure on him
- Mark Waugh
“I have seen God. He bats at number 4 for India”
- Mathew Hayden
“There is no shame being beaten by such a great player, Sachin is perhaps only next to the Don”
- Steve Waugh.
“He is 99.5 per cent perfect. I’d pay to see him”
- Viv Richards.
“Sachin Tendulkar is a genius. I’m a mere mortal”
- Brian Lara
Commit all your crimes when Sachin is batting. They will go unnoticed because even the Lord Is watching.
-Placard at the SCG as Sachin was making his century,2008 January

Sachin Should Retire - This is for Media and Press reporters to get attention
by Jegadeesh Krishnan on Oct 17, 2008 10:31 PM  | Hide replies

I think this topic is irrelevant. Show a player in the current Indian team.
Who is holding better average than Sachin?
Including youngsters Dhoni, Yuvraj, Sehwag including all the youngsters in domestic level etc.
Its Game and people wants real game spirit. I am surprised Sachin's mental strength (Always GREAT person wont bother about small issues)
See in 2003 world cup Everybody predicted that Sachin will not be fit and he should retire. He replied with Majestic 679.
In 2007 India tour of Aussie, everybody including Australians predicted that sachin will not perform. He thrashed the wrong predictions with Centuries despite some wrong decisions by umpires.
Now the CRICKTER Reached a remarkable milestone. People still talk about his retirement.
IN HIS 19 YEARS CAREER. HE HAS A PROVED A LOT. IT IS NOT REQUIRED TO PROVE HIS SKILLS TO ANYONE. HE IS A MASTER AND ALWAYS A MASTER. HE KNOW WHAT STEPS HE NEEDS TO TAKE NEXT. PLEASE DONT TORTURE A LEGEND. HE IS LEGEND FOREVER. WHENEVER HE NEEDS ADVISE OR TECHNICAL CLARIFICATIONS, HE KNOWS WHOM TO ASK. MEDIAS NOT REQUIRED TO GIVE ADVISE. THERE ARE LOT OF SOCIAL ISSUES YOU CAN TAKE AS A SUBJECT. THESE DAYS MEDIA FORGET ABOUT THEIR REAL REQUIREMENT. JUST TO GET PUBLICITY, PLEASE DONT TAKE THIS SUBJECT. IT HURTS.

Well to me, it amuses.
Ask Navjot Sidhu for a complete description of Sachin's batting. Especially now it will be difficult to control Sidhu is you get him started about Sachin on stage...
"Sachin's brain is a computer" etc etc.
I learnt the man's craft and mastery long back when Warne toured India - the "nightmare" series (they didn't win that series).
The match was Mumbai vs Australia.
Sachin came out to bat. Naturally for five minutes there was only a deafening roar. Taylor was a shrewd captain and got Warne in the very next over from the press box end - to Sachin.
Again there was five minutes of deafening applause.
Then Warne bowled the first ball.
Full stretch forward, head over elbow, elbow over bat, bat over ball, plod into the ground.

Warne thought he won.

Next ball, Sachin stepped out and sent the ball back over Warne, out of the stadium!!!

From that point on, Warne never recovered in the entire damn series!

That was the nightmare series.
In very short.

That is Sachin Tendulkar for you.
Ask Shane Warne!

Oh yes, another thing that happened the same day.
I was high up in the stands and there was a damn good drummer out there just a few rows above me. The regular dun-ta-ta-ta-dun - dun-ta-ta-ta-dun ...
Sachin was impressed by the relentless endless, continuous cheering this drummer gave to every shot that Sachin hit. Now pay attention - around tea, Sachin looked at our stand from the middle of the pitch while talking with the batsman at the other end, between overs. He looked a couple more times in the next break between overs.
Next over, we got a gift - straight six into the stadium's roof bang aboev the drummer - a one-foot hole in the roof!!!!
Must have been about 3 rows above the drummer!
That's precision batting for you.
Today is a day this must be mentioned because so many nuts say that he plays for himself. He also knows how to repay a drummer's debt in style!
And with surgical precision.
All this actually happened on one day.
Needless to say, I was dancing all the way home....

no,he plays so that you can have a dig at him.ne ways,do u understand ne thing,i state, nething at all,of cricket.know what, lets have a real discussion.'i play according to the teams requirements" means he varies his playing style to suit the situation of the match.remember his 192 in leeds(thats a ground in england-a place where the british people live) and went on rampage to score the last 60 runs of his innings in 35 balls, because the team needed to declare.that would be playing for the team.

We reached the finals in 2003, and Sachin performed brilliantly. Aussies were better but then that is sports

Boycott had said that the FAB FOUR is sticking bcz of their endorsement and they are not a force that they were... But poor chap now heaps his praise for Sachin who is indeed one of the prominent members of the FAB FOUR, and Gang n Drav also played their part... Geoff pls stay away from making stupid comments... it wud be better for you 2 make comments abt ur useless countrymen....

My Hartiest congrats to the Legend..
Its shame on many indian those who give negartive remarks about him.
Ian Chappel said "Mirror Mirror on the wall, should sachin retire?" and the answer
had to be Yes.

But now the question should be asked Mirror Mirror on the wall, does Ian chappel
knows anything about cricket?" and answer should be "NO" big No
