the man played through pain in the 2003 wc and almost singlehandedly took us to the finals.and all we indians say is that the man plays for records.today,the man could have played a slow,waiting innings but attacked the aussies to put india into a commanding position.even this year,hescored 2 centuries and 2 fifties in the test series in aus and then won the cb series for india.and,even,on this day when the man made the most cherished record in cricket his own,all we do is ask for him to retire.the aussies respect him more than we do.

also those saying lara was a greater player,i would like to point out something.lara has never won wi a major series(though you consider him a better team man).also,ridley jacobs once said that lara was the most selfish cricketer he had seen all his life,who cared only for personal milestones.but of course,you guys know better than his teammate.this should be a gr8 moment for all sports lovers in india.i rate both lara and sachin very highly and have never felt the need to argue about who the greater one is.how ever,i am a greater fan of sachin simply because he belongs to my country,while lara's being a gr8 does not make me proud in ne way.learn to respectthe man instead of constantly trying to find faults with him. and one parting note:sachins avg is better than lara's.and while in tests,both are almost equels,sachin is a far better oneday player than lara.also,lara's record on the big stage(wc s)is not that impressive while sachin has been the highest rungetter in 2 wcs.

Well Said Abhijit Da.... Tendulkar is a great player no doubt. He has done so many things for India and Team, which some of our stupid people are forgetting. Don't ever forget the WC 1999 wen Sachin Lost his father and he had to return India, just after some days, he return back to play so that he cud contribute his best to India and Indian Team. Can those fool people think of even wat this means..

Possibly you may not compare Lara's record with Sachin because what Lara did in 131 matches Sachin excelled in 152 matches. So for DECENT commentator as the LARA'S average surpasses that of Sachin, Sachin still needs to slog to surpass Lara's magic number averages

Dudes, i dont want to comment on anyone here. but One thing I want to say is that looking at averages is not correct. averages take into consideration not outs' and many cricketers tend to be not out after a good big innings score just to boost their average.
