Senseless statistics, there is difference between ppl who get an average of 30's nd 50's....
I remember the inning in which he made 200, he played more than 400 balls so whats the use , I remember he play such a slow batting with australia in the year 1992 that make india to draw a test match instead of winning............

Ravi shastri really has patience. But when he batted we used to feel "when this person will get out".
With the above it shows sachin has great consistent avg. strike rate also important play hours for 10 runs is meaningless even if it is test after all cricket is for entertainment too
i am a stats person and this piece of analysis is shameful.
1. Get a minimum criteria (eg matches played or runs scored) 2. Identify the batsman's overall greatness (high avg, medium avg and low avg) 3. No calculate the difference 4. based on the last 2 derive the rank It wud make more sense, then you will see the most deserving players appear in the list.
Dear Rajneesh: If a player has a difference in avg equal to or greater than zero and has a good number od tests under his belt, then it is better to conclude about his overall greatness coz he played with consistency against all opponents.
