its not about the difference in averages that make a batsman great but the average itself, number of runs scored, bowlers faced, etc. And in the current Indian team, its Sachin who leads all the way followed by Laxman. Dravid had one good series against them in 2004. as someone mentioned, if a bowler's overall average is 5 runs but his average against Aus is 15 runs then he is better than Sachin, Dravvid, Laxman, etc. just because his run difference is more...what a funny logic
The stats are right but you have to see whenever India won Laxman,Dravid and Sachin have performed well.Dravid's 93 was crucial in perth test victory, where no player from the two teams could not score a century. Whenever India has won against Australia i.e in 2001 Dravid and laxman performed,in 2004 Dravid and laxman perfomed and India won the Adelaide test,in 2007-08 Dravid, Tendulkar and Laxman performed and India won perth test so what about this statistics
all know how many matches india have won againsgt auz.i can recall atleast three in which rahul played very important role....1> in kolkata 180 2> in australia duoble hundred and ninghty in 2003-04 3> in perth highest by both team again ninghty last oz series...
Behold your breath friends, the great one, the choosen one who expressed desire to play for India A against NZ A in chennai finally got his chance and my god what a performance he gave.
No New Zealand bowler could get him out, they tried and tried and got tired and finally the great one the choosen one ran himself out, he scored a massive 14 before being run out. But no bowlers could get Ganguly out, what a great batsmen.

A good sense of humour. But Saurav is not as bad a batsman as he was made out to be in this posting.
