In the intrest of the nation ,both should co-operate and BCCI should lift the ban on ICL players Let the best 15 represent India whether they belong to IPL or ICL After all they are Indians FIRST

there is always a saturation, it is nature rule, what goes up come down with more speed. and BCCI is approaching it.

Caste politics rampant in BCCI & money further adds fuel to fire!
by SV on Mar 12, 2008 07:49 PM

Hard to Say! But rather than cricket, ICL grown because of rampant caste politics, money & groupism within BCCI, many curse BCCI for their failure not not because they were not good in cricket but their caste or they belong to opposite lobby which is not in power....Gavaskar rather tan becoming training and guiding professional has become a lobby leader to keep his man on the bay be it play squad, media rights etc.

ICL Vs IPL

Agreed that ICL has its failings BUT if u think dat IPL is a success, sample this

1.Saurav & Dravid - CANNOT FIND A PLACE IN D INDIAN ODI SQUAD BUT WILL LEAD sides in T20...huh!!!!

2.Laxman - did not play an ODI for India in 4 yrs. for India but will lead Hyd for a T20...amazing!!!

3. D Mac Graths,D Warne's r all past their prime...anyone in a self denial mode???

4.Shoaib Akhtar - he's a pale shadow of his former self...except SRKs confidence in him, nobody on dis planet wil belive his current form !!!

5.Ajit Agarkar - will get 1.6Cr?????????...in India there are many who would PAY to BCCI to have dis m****n not playing for India again!!

6.Manoj Tewari- wil get more dan Ponting & Co.,...couldnt stand up to Lee's pace in d ODI playd!!!

7. Romesh Pawar etc etc...many non performers would be playing for IPL and d GR8test aspect of IPL is dat dey will be paid handsomely for playin d league.

A men like Kiran More, who distroyed India cricket selection committee when he was Chairman of the committee,Kapil Dev who start every sentance by "I think"and people like Sandeep Patil,EAS Prasanna are just talking too much and they can't do anything.BCCI in one stroke made them flat and its only time will tell when ICL will end its natural death.

Why do we ridicule ICL... have they done anything wrong to u or cricketers... they have tried to bring up changes which erupted problems for bcci and infact ICL indirectly have helped cricketers cause by making bcci work accordingly...

Hard to Say! But I think rather than cricket Mr.Bongale is interested in caste politics, which is rampant in BCCI, because of caste favourism, money and monopoly in BCCI the ICL has born. Mark my words Rajendra can never find a mistake in Ganguly, Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri even if it exist & they may have hit the game of cricket for their personal community benefits....

Yes what Rejandra said is right.Having said that I dont want harsh to ICL guys. All the above mentioned gentelman were given chances by BCCI and they could not prove anything. ICL is born because of frustation and that is not going to help them.
At the end of day its business. You need to survive and the fittest survive. It does not matter whehther ICL came with the idea first or second.

the way BCCI is showing its money and muscle power is so ridiculous...after all what is the harm in finding raw talent the way ICL is doing...why is BCCI baning the players from joining it....i wish ICL all the luck and hope they find even better players than our so called stars..

BCCI just copied ICL but shamelessly wants to monopolise
by Michael Ponnudurai on Mar 12, 2008 06:32 PM  | Hide replies

Whatever happens to ICL and IPL, history will be that ICL was the pioneer and leader while BCCI was just a follower
It is shameful that to derive max benefits for itself that BCCI is penalising those playing for ICL. ICC should not be party to such tactics by BCCI

FYI, this concept was conceived by BCCI years ago, but and were about to launch sometime in future, but with launch of ICL, they had to do it right now. This was already witnessed in a press conference by Lalit Modi. Don't think that Zee has done a great thing by 'inventing' ICL.

On Sachin Tendulkar's [Images] electrifying performance in the two finals, Lara said there was never any doubt about the master batsman's calibre but former Australian coach John Buchanan had provoked the Indian before the series.

"I have said it many times that he is a great player. I don't want to repeat it. But (John) Buchanan made a mistake by lighting up fire under Sachin before the start of the series," he said.

What else can one expect with Kapil Dev at the helm?
This is not supposed to mean an insult to Kapil Dev, the Cricketer. He is but a practically illiterate person, and ventures like ICL need some organising and some management-expertise. Kapil Dev cannot provide it.
