gilli.. even though ur from aussie every real cricket loving fan will be worried for ur exit. ur attitude and speach with bat is awesome.really i felt very very bad to even think that i cant c u on field as a gr8 chapian playing any more.. our best wishes to u gilli.. ur gr8 and we loved ur cricket.!thx for it.
he changed the definition of a wkt-keeper. he was thus a trend-setter in itself. earlier, keepers were only required to give support to the main batsman like in the days of kirmani, more, etc. but after the emergence of gilchrist, it became clear that a keeper has to bat as well as (if not better than) other regular batsman. but gilchrist didnt compromise on his keeping inspite being one of the best batsman.
As a follower of Indian cricket, i would say retirement of Gilchrist will be good for Indian cricket. He is such an explosive bastman who can take a any form of game away from opposition in really quick time. He is amazing. True and only player who walks off, if he is of the opinion that he is out, doesn't wait for umpires decision. All the best to him and best wishes for his future endeavours. Hope he will keep contributing towards the game. Such players are less who walks off the game when they are at their peak.
India lost the WC2003 because of bad captaincy. Nobody will opt for fielding first on that wicket. Moreover, the way in which Ganguly played Magrath, I am 300% sure no other country would have given him any more opportunity but for Dalmia from the same state possibly with some other understanding.Even when he was forcebly given captaincy against Zimbaqwe, I still remember that in all the 6 one-dayers (triseries with Zim & Newzealand)he was out in the same fashion hooking and people were simply laughing.

retirement. by ROHIT on Jan 27, 2008 08:57 AM | Hide replies
Is only the age a benchmark for retirement n not the performance. As soon as a player reaches 34 peaople start calling for their heads. Sachin is in fine form right now scoring runs in australia but still people asking questions when will he go. Some say that he should retire now gracefully as he is good forem. Well the day is not far when a youngster like Manoj Tiwary has really good series against a tough opposition n people will say retite manoj gracefully as u r in fine n form who knows what will happen in future. Do big oranisations states that one should do his/her job till 35 n retire gracefully. Would you vaccate your job for a youngter. But laeving this topic aside, Adam is a great cricketer n we salute u sir for your achievements. Best of luck adam for the future.
it would be very difficult moment if sachin , dravid , ganguly , kumble retires coz our young players arent performing in tests /ODI performing in 20-20 doesnt make them a great players they have to perform in all form of game and which young player can stand for 2 days in tests .

india lost 4 out of 5 of his last ODI 100s
BUT WE GOT 300 PLUS IN ALL OF THEM DO BOWLERS NEED 400 TO DEFEND?? OR IS IT TASK OF TENDULKAR TO GET 10 WICKETS TOO??
india got in WC 2003 finals coz of him india had a test win:loss ratio of 1:2.5 before he arrived, now getting closer to 1:1.5 he is accountable for over half of the trophies that india can boast of,since 1990
gilly's decision should be an eye opener for sachin who now plays only for records and nothing else.every century by ponting or kallis prompts him to play more.and for this, he has the support of harshas and gavaskars and the mumbai media. retire man and let other youngsters also get an opportunity to play for india.

u guys jus keep fiding something or the other to put charges on sachin

This is pure bullshit. Sachin is god and even if he plays for record, it is going to help India.

No one is God - No one can be. If Sachin would be God, India Had 2 times 16 test victories in a row, India would bo 4time world champions But they R not & Aussies are. Bcause, They are committed to cricket & not rumours & crying for losses. No one is God in aus. However Sachin Shoul not retire bcauz He is playing very good cricket still. & India needs him.

yuvraj, jaffer n dhoni got d opportunity in aussies....something that comes in 4 years gap.... they made a trash of it had sachin not been in runs...india would have been at recieving end in adelaide too
dont b unidirectional....AGE alone doesnt matter b HOLISTIC...its performance which matters
