people like ponting, slater never change...they are everything that is wrong with cricket...Ponting talks about australia being the most respected team...I think he should see the recording of the entire proceedings of the 2nd test match and ask himself, which moment his team was worthy of respect...

Thanx to the controversy
by Joy Das on Jan 10, 2008 03:02 PM  | Hide replies

Two persons, Yuvraj Singh and Wasim Jaffer would be thanking Bucknor, Benson, Ponting, Symonds and Harbhajan for the controversy. Only because of them, the focus on these two people have been diverted. If there wuldnt have been any controversy, they would have been the focus of attention, and media and people wud have chewed them to bits..

This statement was first told by Don Bradman after losing the Bodyline series to England. So before blaming Kumble think twice ....

Rajesh:

The original message has been lost marked as abuse, but if you mean to say Kumble's "only one team was playing in the spirit of the game" comment; then sadly you are misinformed about the original source.

It wasn't Don Bradman. It was the then Aussie captain Bill Woodfull. And he had said to the English Manager who had gone to the dressing room to look after Bill's health after being hit on the chest by a delivery: "I don't want your sympathy Mr. ____ (the then English Manager). There's only one team playing cricket out there".

Just FYI..
