MAKE ADAM GILCHRIST THE AUSSIE CAPTAIN
by rajendra agrawal on Jan 10, 2008 01:33 PM  | Hide replies

PONTING HAS LOST HIS MORAL RIGHT TO REMAIN SKIPPER DUE TO HIS UNDIPLOMATIC NATURE.
IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT AUSTRALIA MADE HIM THE SKIPPER AFTER STEVE WAUGH.
I REMEMBER HE HAD OTHER PERSONAL ATTIUDINAL PROBLEMS WHEN HE WAS PLAYING UNDER STEVE WAUGH.
GILCHRIST IS A GENTLEMAN AS HE PREFERS TO "WALK" HIMSELF WHEN HE IS OUT.
HE WOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER SUCCESSOR TO STEVE WAUGH, AND AUSTRALIA WOULD HAVE REALLY EARNED THE HIGHEST RESPECTS BY THE WORLD TILL NOW.

Under ponting, Aussies have won 2 world cups, won the championstrophy that eluded them and are on verge to break the 16 consecutive test victories set b Steve Waugh. What gives you right to say he should be sacked? Sour grapes eh?

No one told Clive loyd to resign. He too had won 2 worldcups. So its not sour grapes. Its about the spirit of the game.If your knowledge of cricket is less, just remember that Aussies lost a test series (even when they had the Don playing)to English under D.Jardine.That series was called thye Bodyline series. All of Australia including the Don himself spoke in length about only Australia played in the spirit of the game. You mean to say that was sour also grapes ?No dear these are not sour sour grapes. If a team wins without indulging in any malpractice they should be appreciated. As for ponting ,he is a person whose integrity has gone to the docks...SIMILAR TO HIS AUSSIE ANCESTORS WHO WERE CONVICTS

It is really shame that Indian Media is picking up commnets from Aussie people and Media which are blasting pointing and his team right now. Guys, atleast we should acknowledge that not all the people are so called ' cheaters' down under (which our media is gleefully trying right now). One way they are better then us that they are acknowleding the wrongs done with India team. Have we ever done that? I mean, whether our crickets are some kind of saints or some thing who never indulged in any kind of unfair practices? Do we realise that India players also pass comments to west-indian and other team when they visit India and there are alsways umpiring decisions which generally goes in our favour when kumble and Bhajjis bowls? How about Poiting given out when he had a thick edge? Why our player appealed for LBW? Wheher Dhoni did not hear that edge? This is altoghther different matter that Ponting was not given out on previous occasion. Does that qualify that we are entitled for wrongdoing? What if these decision should have gone in our favour? Whether we could have stormed the streets and media with cry of wrong done by our cricketers? In all, why are we behaving this way because we received many decisions against us (ethics) or just we could have kept silent if these decisions have gone in our favour? I mean, whether we are crying for truth or things which did not go our way?

Now what about some game mate ? Can we try to defeat Aussie in next two games and show the workd tha

All your nice things said and heard. This problem would have not surfaced if Ponting and co would have shown bit of sportsman spirit in the sydney match. It is disgraceful to see this idiot continue as National caption.
The sort of decison they got for them selves in the match had an Asia Taem just appealed as much I am sure they would have got banned for offensive appealing and misleading the Empire. Still these so called ICC has no shame and looks they have turned blind eye to it. Remember Five Indian players punished in South Africa tour for over appealing. Rashid Latid Paki caption handled 5 match ban for similar conduct.

They are the acknowledging that they have done wrong after they are undressed by their own people and their own media. It is nothing r great to accept the cheating after it is exposed!!!!
No one is saint in this game, but we indians atleast donot behave like ponting, who says two contradictory statements in 2 days.
when ponting saw that he has no was to go and he has to give up his arrogant stand, he now says that he is in a process to build a team which is loved & liked by everyone. MY FOOT, that day will never come.

absolutely right....i have never seen brett lee talk nonsense to a batsman. he bowls hard and gets his wickets and his very cheerful to players on the field. but i hear even his contract with ad agencies in India being reviewed. these ad companies are idiots. they jus go witht eh flow of things. after world cup 2007, they said they will remove the contracts of all the indian players. after 10 months, indian players after some good performances are having more ad contracts than before. The ad companies are not idiots. They know that Brett Lee can't and won't sell anything in India in the light of the current situation. They have to go with the flow of things, because unlike some people(e.g. the Indian team) they have to account for every penny that they get to spend on ads.

I DO AGREE. THERE WAS AN ARTICLE IN ONE GUJRATI NEWSPAPER, WHERE, LEE HIMSELF COMMENTED HOW HE & THE TEAM SLEDGE THE BATSMAN. HE POINTED OUT THAT, AMONG INDIANS ONLY SACHIN IS TOLERANT, DUE TO CULTURE HE HAS INHERITED FROM HIS POET/WRITER FATHER, WHO USED TO IGNORE THESE BLOOD-BOILING COMMENTS LIKE "HEY SACHIN WHAT R U DOING HERE? SEE WITH WHOM ANJALI IS SLEEPING??!!" YA, THIS IS WHAT HE HAS SAID IN THAT VERY SAME ARTICLE. READERS MUST KNOW HOW MUCH THE OZ HAVE GRADUATED IN SLEDGING, BEFORE TAKING THEIR SIDE.

You are missing the main issue. Australians are always famous for playing mind games and targetting a player who could be a thorn in their path of victory. This time they picked up a wrong word "racism". The word can never be used against India. They tried to use it, as it could be used as weapon, in present scenario. They have used it to gain advantage without knowing the implications. Now they have to face what they have created. The issue cannot be ignored and if it means cancelling the tour then we must take that tough stand. Its is the issue seen by a very strong nation which has capability to become leader in all fields of life in the years to come and let there be no doubt whatsoever about that. If we are capable of controlling future then we should take stong measures to tell the world that we are ready to lead by setting example

Yes! u r right. But the decissions have made against us r really costly ones. we can forgive field umpires, but what happened to the third umpire? is it not deliberate?

Ya!! Instead of putting the blame on them, can't our batsman play 2 overs? have u seen The so called GREAT Dhoni's out, what a shame for him. what happened to Yuvaraj, it not one or two innings it was four occassions, what is he doing?
we should rectify all those things n play well.
any way All the best for team.

Guys, who is going to bother all these after next test...All Indians will forget all these, and they will blindly go behind the Indian cricketers even if they white washed. we have to take this positively and have to take the words of sanjay Manj'rkar. We should focus on game and try to overcome and to win. But I think we will loose all the matches, including Tri Series and T20. Even our cricket pundits won't help to over come our probs. Why people are not discusssing about W.Jaffer, Dravid, Yuvi, Dhoni - their poor batting performance. Why not discussing abt the poor team selection, by avoid pathan and taking Ishant. All should ot discuss and will go behind issues. This is the prob of Ind. We shoud go behind positive thinks and not with negative. We should encourage our nation and tell them to perform better and not to jump others.

Agreed in Australia the umpires seemed biased but what stopped the Indian team from winning in the test matches and one day matches in India. Forget Australia, we dont even win in New Zealand or for that matter south Africa.

India first needs to win, we all agree we have the best batsman, best bowlers, richest board but winning percentage Pakistan's and South Africa has better winning averages than India

Aren't the indian cricket team cry babies

You must have the tolerance to accept statements that do not match your opinion. "Shut up" is not the what Indians are famous for. No other country has as many religions living together largely peacefully as India has. Don't spoil this image, which has been earned over centuries.

Haatim, we are not saying we are a better team and deserve to win. We are the underdogs. Underdogs do win some times and there was a opportunityin the 2nd test which was methodically crushed by the umpires. I saw all the clips . About 8 decisions went against 1 team in 1 match. Tha is enoughto ruin the morale and give chance to the opponents.

You said it Pal. In spite of all that happened in the Sydney test, Indians didn`t show that much courage and gumption to try for a draw.
When Kumble could stay put there, why the others didn`t even try.Look at the way all the big guns of the first innings played in the second innings. There was no attempt to play for a draw.
One thing is certain. Indian team allways fail collectively. they have never won with collective effort. They win only when they are allowed to by the opposition.

yes you are right INDIAN PLAYERR CRY BABIES. if bOARD OR selectors bring players from the street where they were habituated to cry when they lost and feel happy when they win - it is the common tendency of indians - this is due to lack of confidence, few players make good runs and bowl few good deliveries and start searching for money by involving them into advertisement etc. THE PLAYERS SHOULD STOP SUCH KIND OF STREET PLAYERS AND CONCNTRATE ON REAL PLAY, THEY CAN BEAT ANY ONE INCLUDING AUSTRALIAN.

2nd Test
by balachandra singde on Jan 10, 2008 01:15 PM  | Hide replies

,
2nd Test is a win of India

In the second Test Australia scored 864 runs totally. Deduct 196 runs taken by cheating by Anerew Symonds with the consent of Ricky Ponting, since he did not walk out because the umpire Steve Bucknor did not declare him out. So the total comes to 668 only while India scored 742 runs and hence India is a real winner. This apart, wrong decisions of umpires calling 3 of the best players of Indian side calling out with faulty catches. So it is unfair to call Australia as winner so they should come forward to disown this win and replay. They must know that Cricket is a Gentleman%u2019s game and the dictionary meaning of Gentleman is a chivalrous person. Chivalry means a system that follows religious, moral and social codes. Even then one would condone Symond if he was also confused about the catch, but he blatantly declared in media that he knew he was out! Sorry, no comments, because you will call it racial (?) again.
Better ICC call this match a friendly match and square of all allegations etc where about a dozen controversial umpire decision has marred the match results.
