politics should not enterfear in cricket otherwise it will hamper but i couldn't understand why the selectors are not selecting to rahul dravid in ODIS.because on the basis of perfermance he is too good in comparision other players so it is not fare.so selectors should concentrate on performance basis and shouldn't take personal revenge.

Guys lets give Dravid his respect, He has worked within his limitations and worked brilliantly, He has achieved something which the previous stallwarts did not, Its a bit difficult to stand up for yourself against the superstar politicians, Dravid will be doing what he does best, batting and everyone wil enjoy. He took the ruins of the team when saurav was ousted and today the team s laying well as a unit, he bridged the wall seperating the team. He earned his respect, He is a great guy and lets not criticise him, Your decisions may backfire, The Ex- captian needs support from us, lets give him, stand by him

Dravid will be remembered as the strongest of world batsmen (even ahead of Sachin Tendulkar) and honest of captains. He lead the side when it was in turmoil especially with so much of back stabbing going on - refer to comments that were made by Zaheer Khan, Yuvraj Singh at the time of his appointment, t
dravid most succesful odi captain and his perfromance as captain recognised by icc won the cap for icc test captain team and nominted by icc test captain award. Icc nomination done by int%u2019l cricketers not by ind players media managers or dirty ind politicians.dravid had most % odi winning average and most successful odi captain. Team won 18 odi matches by chasing and under dravid team did not loose any odi series. Also historic test win in SA, series win against WI after 32 yrs that too with out ganguly and tendulakr and nowseries win in England. Dravid managed team without coach and some senior players and chief selector never supported or respected his captaincy. Media always biased to dravid captain and batsman. Dravid not only best batsman but better captain and left captaincy with winning note holding his head high. He was not cowrd or spineless as some ex crickets projected. He ws forced to resign and victim of dressing room politics.
dravid played under azar, sachin, gnaguly and gave 100% for team cause performed under pressure against strong bowling attack on foreing ptiches many times. But did not get the support of his teammates statistics proved dravid did good

TRUE DRAVID IS NO.1 TEST PLAYER & ONE OF THE TOP MOST ODI PLAYER IN THE WORLD . AS A CAPTAIN HE DID GOOD JOB ALSO EVEN IN THAT SITUATION WHEN SACHIN IS NOT PERFRMING AND SOME OTHER PLAYER TOO. GREG CHAPELL WAS THERE FOR POLITICS.BUT HE PERFORMED WELL. SO GIVE HIM RESPECTFUL FAREWELL.

In today's world flamboyance is the word. Anyone who does a job without the usual fanfare is dubbed by the public and the media as a not a great performer. I only feel for the plight of this poor chap Rahul Dravid who had to draw all flak from the ex-cricketers/not-so-informed media. I have heard quite a few of the ex-cricketers talk ill of Rahul's captaincy but nobody had the guts to ask the BCCI or the Chairman selection committee about their role in Rahul's bad performance. No one with an integrity as Rahul will ever succumb to their pressures and continue. Today the country is applauding Dhoni as the people's captain and a young team doing so well, but has the public forgotten that there were more than a couple of the same men in the earlier side also which lost narrowly to England. Fielders dropped sitters and the same ones held difficult ones here. This comparison is one of the Indian public's favourite passtimes. Most of them do not know cricket for its worth and the ex-cricketers are a terribly biased lot. The way things are moving I feel Dravid will be forced out of the team as well, very shortly. God save the country from this kind of attitude and reactions from all and sundry. Who will bring this to light, certainly not the public or the authorities. People like captians who flaunt their bare chest even if their body is not what can be called hot'n'attractive. This is perhaps aggression in their words!!!!!

First I do not understand why the BCCI should have that goonda turned politician as chief.why should you have non cricketer calling shots.he is only good at bringing up people like dawood ibrahim.he doesnt have the culture of cricket .it is just the greed of money that bccci rakes attracts these people.
we should have cricketers at the helm of cricket board and thay should be elected by the cricketers
let politicians spoil the country as a whole why foer a sport!
I feel dravid has judged the situation correct and his timing of resignation perfect

Pawar and his power go to hell!

Stupid Argument
by Ramelton Pandya on Sep 18, 2007 10:01 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Haresh Pandya,
Main bhi Pandya, Aap bhi Pandya. But I am not the owner of a very stupid argument as you are about the Mumbai Lobby affecting Dravid?

First of all, Dravid is a Marathi like all other so called Mumbai Lobby. That apart,

If anything, it was Mumbai players who always missed out due to zonal representation. Otherwise, what was the logic to play Brijesh Patel in any form of cricket? It goes back to those days my dear ignorant reporter?

Go back and check on how many times Vengsarkar himslef was dropped for no reason. Same fate with Dilip Sardesai, Eknath Solkar, Sanjay Manjrekar, Karsan Ghavri, Abdul Ismail and above all Padmakar Shivalkar who did not play any test cricket as Bedi was around as a leg spinner. The board had no problems playing Prasanna and Venkar together. Chandra was a leg spinner but of a different kind though. Shivalkar was out because he was from Mumbai Board did not give a rats ass for selecting the best players.Zonal representationand ploitical agendas were more important. And now, reporter ( really?) like you are bringing politics in on a bigger scale.

I am sick of you Mumbai haters. I was born and brought up there and am proud of it and find it very difficult to digest un-researched stupid articles like this one.

Haresh, please go back to Crikcet school first. Know your facts and then write.

Do not write becasue God gave you hands. He alos gave you brains. Use that for a change if it is still un-damaged.

The People from mumbai are very selfish and they are really affecting India Cricket. Ever since pawar and his chelas came, India has stopped winning

Dravid may have been born in Maharashtra...but he is a proud Banglorean....

and it is quite obvious that Mumbai ppl support Sachin and not Dravid..

We Bangloreans are open minded and love our country and support everyone who plays for our country. But you Mumbai and Kolkota people will hope for your country to loose if your region stars are not included in the team.

I find this disgusting.
I feel Dravid has been dealt with very unfairly
and justice will finally be delivered

Dravid doesn't have the temperament and wasn't a good captain
by TeraBaap on Sep 18, 2007 09:38 PM  | Hide replies

I know Dravid personally. He is good playerindividually but he doesn't have the temperament to be aggressive and be a great captain. I wish him well and hope he is not pressurised by none. He is not suited for the job. He will get nothing out of it. I will not blame BCCI for this one but I hope ICL gives them good competition. It's good for Indian cricket.

stat prove dravid as odi captain highest winning average injust 23 months more than ganguly success fo 5 yrs that ganguly had godfather dalmiay, and dravid had 3 swords namely sachin ganguly and vengsarkar breathing his neck, media scrunity non cooperation of senior players etc...he managed team without coach, tried to shoe that there were no rotten apples in his team he left team captiancy with winning note holding his head high.ind media has not guts to find out dressring room conspiracy which forced dravid resign.

Gents

i`m not a gr8 but good follower of cricket. n i do feel dat Dravid has quit mailny bcoz.

1. 4 super stars in the team, one break dancer and one who plays for opposition team.

2. Altough we did perform well in England, still he faced unamounted criticism.

3.Upcoming Australiam Tour and he has to play well, and he knows he cant do it with captaincy on his shoulders as he has to answer for his captaincy n also for his batting.

4. No say over selection and playing with australia with present pack of cricketers is going to backfire.

And always Dravid wanna spend some time with his family with no tensions..he wanna be a father yaar common( i donno if he is already)

give a thumbs up for Dravid..he may hav done good or bad..but has left the captaincy cap with respect.

Now let the media keep churining of various combinations and permutation

n let Siddhus( killer), jadeja( broker) have thier say on the new captain..

chak de india

Mumbaikars are not for this; its only the BCCI and few crap chaps
by on Sep 18, 2007 05:44 PM  | Hide replies

Guys let me tell you%u2019ll something. Me after having spent so many years in Mumbai, I personally feel that the Mumbai lobby is ruining Indian cricket. When it comes to cricket or anything its India first then Mumbai even for we Mumbaikars. Let%u2019s not forget its we Mumbaikars were the first to boooo Sachin Tendulkar in Mumbai.

It%u2019s the same things which id discussed everywhere across India including Mumbai. Why on earth is Ajit Agarkar continuously picked for the team knowing that he is unfit to be in the Mumbai team. As per my knowledge he is responsible for India losing 12-13 matches due to his bowling during the final over%u2019s. For the last few years he has been a burden on the Indian team.
Why is Ramesh Pawar picked for the team in the first place? Forget International cricket, does he look like a sportsman, is he fit to run, to jump, to catch, to dive ; it%u2019s a shame to India to have such players. Like to quote a statement from co passenger in a train who said %u201CLooking at Pawar, I feel we are playing some gulli cricket with cartoon character%u201D.
Why does Tendulkar needs a captaincy now, when his body is not recovering the way it did few years back, he is also on his way out. The opinion is the endorsement deals are going to be big if he chosen as the captain. For the last 4-5 years, Tendulakar has never performed when required and finally goes on hit a century against Bangladesh or Kenya or west India and keeps his average moving. He is the only batsmen who%u2019s got out in 90%u2019

What about Lalchand Rajout and Paras Mambray coming into the fold. The Mumbai Looby is no different from the 'corrupt' lobby that exsisted during Dalmiya reign. Once the Mumbai lobby goes, we might have the Bihari pobby with Lallu and dhoni coming in...God save Indian cricket
