I dont think this is a good logic for supporting ICL. Yes ICL should go on but we should not close our eyes towards BCCI. There should be some efforts to fix responsibility and accontability in BCCI. BCCI should not go scot free. Cricket lovers should raise their voices at appropriate forum.

Their monopoly ideology lead into ICL type business hype into cricket

Cricket Mess

Long back we had a senior cricketer telling thta the selection committee consists of "bunch of JOkers", this is true even to this date. Dravid is matured person and his body language says it all. His resignation has been left to the imagination of all , rather than do the blame game. Now when on earth agarkar can be given so many opportunities, why not others. Hope readers recollect he made 7 ducks in row. In a highly competitive game, u dont give chances to one so many times, while others like Laxman are dropped for reasons best known to the selectors. May good sense prevail and only god can help indian cricket.

correct perspective
by Frank Opinion on Sep 18, 2007 04:16 PM  | Hide replies

why our memory is so short and why cant we see things in correct perspective. During Ganguly's captaincy, Dravid and Sachin were at peak of their form and contributed significantly to the team's success (remember dravid donning gloves for such a long time). During sachin's captaincy, azhar and jadeja were at peak of their betting (not batting)and balance team was raw and getting slowly in place. Even anshuman gaikwad had mentioned that in sri lanka, both azhar and jadeja had conspired to get run out and sachin had vowed that he will win the match on his own and he actually did. Last but not the least, during dravid's captaincy we know how much saurav and sachin contributed with bat in last two years. captaincy is lot about luck and time.

Completely agree with you dude...Wen Sachin was the captain he hardly got any support from his teammates. All expectations and blames fell squarely on his shoulders. Dravid and Ganguly have both been lucky in this regard. Ganguly had John Wright and Dravid had Chappel who supported them in every regard. Don't forget that Sachin has a very shrewd cricketing mind and if he gets support from the team he can win matches for India. If there's one good man who could captain the indian test team, it has to be Tendulkar. Those who think otherwise and support a Dhoni for this post don't understand cricket at all. For all those who think that Sachin won't make a good captain, try to remember the practice test match that was played (just before australia visisted India the last time) between the Ranji chanpion Mumbai and the Rest of India teams. Mumbai was captained by Sachin and Rest of India was captained by our dada and had all big names like Dravid, Lakshman, Kumble amongst others. Mumbai had no such big names to it's credit - only Tendya. And it was Mumbai which had Dada's team's backs against the wall for most part of that match. The Rest of India barely managed to save that match thanks to a goof partnership between Dravid and Laksman.

to add further, during dravid's captaincy, irfan, harbhajan and sehwag lost touch. guru greg was doing all sorts of nautanki behind the scene. saurav and sachin had lost form. yuvi was injured for a long duration. i think rahul was an unlucky captain.

Why Dravid Stepped Down
by Uday Kulkarni on Sep 18, 2007 04:14 PM

THis article is trash. PURE RUMOUR MONGERING>
Dravid may be having outside pressures as Cricket in India has been full of politics ever since Pentangular series and since 1950s.
Blaming pawar & Vengsarkar maybe acceptable or even possible as Pawar is a politician known to play such politics. BUT WHY BLAME & link TENDULKAR ??? How does he become responsible ? Good that he has not accepted captainship again & allow Dhoni to be one day captain as he is always available for any advice to juniot players. This article is complete trash with no basis and spreads malice & creates problems & mis-understanding among players especially when this article quotes "RELAIBLE KEY INDIAN TEAM PLAYER" as a grapevine. How confident is the writer of the article that the supposedly key player is himself not playing politics ??
