we dont need politicians
by Mature Stud on Oct 31, 2007 06:12 AM  | Hide replies

People like Shastri, dravid, sharad pawar, etc. etc. are not needed because they speak and do things which are aimed at meeting their own requirements only.

I am happy that Dravid is sacked, he is a very very bad influence and bad example of politics in the Indian cricket team.

There was absolutely no need for Ganguly to be sacked as a captain...clearly Dravid was a party to this; he colluded viciously with a few others to meet his own ends. Millions of people understand this role of Dravid and are happy that he is sacked.

Some people would still want to justify by showing some records that Dravid was a better captain, again they themselves including million others would know that it was ridiculous to think so.

If Ganguly is not a captain today, it is more a problem of our poor country than any thing else because by that it is proved that like many other issues politics still rules the roost without fairly judging the right vs the wrong.

Drop seniors
by Joseph Dsouza on Oct 31, 2007 12:49 AM  | Hide replies

Yes we have to drop seniors like Gavasker, Shashtri, Vengsarker, .....
Without Dravid India cant win matches at this movement.,coz we dont have any utility player over there in this team. All stroke makers(Ganguly,Tendulker,Uttappa,Gambir,Doni,Yuvi, rohit) not a single Player Technical batsman is here.It works with 20/20 not with 50/50. All the best Vengsarker. You prove that you are right. You have chosen the best team.

Mr. Joseph,

Dravid is in very bad shape now. Maybe he needs to come back.

Privately, I am very happy that he has met with this fate because he indulged in vicious politics to oust ganguly which to me was not very fair and beneficial to Indian cricket.

Dravid as a utilty player now needs to be proven through performance. He cannot perform in captaincy, cannot bowl, cannot field, now cannot even bat; what else can he do then....probably only politics...lol.

Dravid will be back in third ODI
by Sanjeev Verma on Oct 30, 2007 10:40 PM  | Hide replies

CNN-IBN reports:

Rahul Dravid's forced sabbatical from the Indian cricket team may be short-lived. The former India captain may in fact be back as early as the third One-Dayer. Sources have told CNN-IBN that BCCI President Sharad Pawar isn't too happy about how Vengsarkar is handling senior players.

More than 72 hours have passed since the axe fell on Rahul Dravid but the controversy refuses to die down. Sources are now telling CNN-IBN that board president Sharad Pawar has had a word with chairman of selectors Dilip Vengsarkar and asked him to clarify his policy with regard to senior players. And board officials are doing their best to douse the fire.

phase out seniors do NOT drop
by bhagat Singh on Oct 30, 2007 09:46 PM

We need to phase out the seniors slowly using a rotation policy instead of dropping them like this. One bad series shouldnt be a reason to drop an experienced player who has proved himself over the years that loss of form is a temporary thing for him.

WORST DECISION TO DROP RAHUL
by ramana surya murty on Oct 30, 2007 06:04 PM  | Hide replies

its ridiculuos to c this.No one supporting great man of indian cricket rahuldravid. It is clear that only personal egoes dominated his axing.Wat shit sunil gavaskar doing now?similarly kapildev? when a player like rahul dropped for noncricketing no one supports.
He is the only player who along with laxman troubled Aussies on home and in Aussie pitches.

On austrialian pitches even in onedayers THE GREAT TEAM INDIA needs a warrior like Rahul Dravid.

He needs support mentally.Dilip vegaskar can settle his personal scores later.

Team comes first then personal clashes. Our heroes in Austrialis cannot even score over 200 in a 50 Over match without rahul's name being included.

Kudos to Mohinder:"SELECTORS R JOKERS".

This will remain as long as three stumps and two bails remain in the game of cricket.

Shastri the one who became the mang of Indian team and then left the job saying that he had few more imp assignments(commentry & speaking shit) what has he done in ODI arena.... scored 2 runs in 60 balls and he speaking big...He just wants to support Sachin and Agarkar the allrounder(reasons well known to everybody)

Shastri said Dhoni cant concentrate on captaincy since he is a keeper. What a joke. If that is the case why did they hand over the one day captaincy to him? I mean eventually he has to take over the test captaincy right? Will dhoni be able to concentrate then? Or do they plan to have different captains for differnet formats for ever? if so then two authorities in the same group. These idiots are really funny.

Shastri another scapegoat
by Damian Martin on Oct 30, 2007 04:16 PM  | Hide replies

Shastri I guess you have had your share of failing. Imagine if you were in the team now, I guess you would not be even fit for the Ranji Throphy, let alone commenting. Count on your present blessings and be gtareful, and keep your mouth shut. Dravid has sacrificed a lot for Inidan cricket and what you guys have done is humilation. Did you rest him...No.....You left him out. We Indian publice value great cricketers, and hence do not go around trying to justify your stand. Dont be another scapegoat to Indian Cricket.
