Whatever shastri said is true, we have now got good bunch of young batsman among them are M.K.Tiwary ( Average above 90 in last year Ranji Season), S.Badrinath, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, C.Pujara, Anirudh Sreekant to mention few. They should get their chance in the home series only, we cannot try them in Australia or in any other Country. (Remember Ganguly played his first One day match in Australia)off late Parthiv Patel seems to be in great touch but how can we have three wicket keepers in a side. But our seniors are our backbone to our victories in home or abroad. Dravid is required for series against Australia. So does Ganguly and Tendulkar. Without Dravid, Ganguly, Tendulkar we cannot win even a practice match in Australia. So Seniors should be in the side along with Juniors.
I my opinion young players should be tried at home, and in the rest of One day matches Dravid should be played along with another new players, may be M.K.Tewary or Badrinath
Mr. Shasthri, no one will disagree with the fact that we need to find the best possible replacement for the big 3. But no one apart from the selectors are not fools believe that this is the correct method. If we have rest these 3 then it should be a process like 2 will play at a time in one series and etc. By reading the comments from the selection committee, it looks obvious that Dravid is not any more likable by them than they have rested him. He is one of the honest cricketers around and he is not opening his mouth regarding why he resigned the captaincy and what are the negative vibes but we can all see it clearly. In fact, the current selection committee is very biased and not having enough plan than the previous selection committee. I guess you can clearly read the contraction in statements they are making week in %u2013 week out. People watching cricket are not foolish and players like Dravid needs better treatment. Why not some strong performance holder replacing Dravid than Viru? He hasn%u2019t done anything to merit the place now. There is no common sense and it is clear that selection committee is playing politics.
Would be another feather in the legend's cap ..anyway going back to Sachin is like taking a step back and thinking at the maximum for 2 years only ..He was not successful too ..So why not Kumble ?atleast we will not get back to the same person who escaped from the job and also have someone who is dedicated to test cricket now !! Had Kumble been born in aamchi Mumbai , he would have been the skipper by now !God save Indian cricket from politicians ..
These days the debate is whether dravid should have been dropped or not ..Agreed that he was in poor form against Australia so faced the axe but what has his replacement done (Sehwag here )? One innings thats all in challenger against India Green to make to the national squad ?He is an average fielder too..Going by past records if they favour Sehwag , then they would favour Dravid too since his past records are far better.Dropping the ever consistent Badrinath for Gambhir was another clever statement (both could have played but for the nawab of najafgarh ).Suresh Raina , Dinesh Karthik , Badrinath , etc..are really unlucky to miss out despite doing well in Challenger ..Shows the importance of the series really ..But we all just have one debate - Dravid's omission ..can someone speak for the unlucky ones who missed the bus ?
Sachin is d worst captain india has ever seen. Nobody on earth except vengsarkar can make him captain just bcoz he commands respect in team. I suppose this is Mumbai stuff.....if only dravid would have been mumbaiite he would not have lost his place n perhaps captaincy.remember how many chances agarkar n powar have got!!!
making Sachin the test captain may not be a bad idea after all. given the current form of the seniors the Australian TEST series will be tough and humiliating loss may not be good for a budding captain like Dhoni even though he is capable of coping with it. as far as the one dayers are concerned if the selectors repose faith on youngsters alone they are certain to make a good fight of it.
When Ganguly was dropped after a long bad run which made it comical,Dravid took the blame.The real reason for the ouster of Ganguly was the Mumbai gang led by Pawar who wanted a Dalmiya crony like Ganguly to be taught a lesson.Very cleverly they divided and ruled pitting Greg and Dravid against Ganguly.Today Greg and Dravid get the hate mail for Ganguly's ouster whereas it really was the Mumbai gang capturing power.Now Shasri whose cricketing abilities are poor by all standards,is wise enough to support Vengsarkar against Dravid.Will either of these 2 worties keep quiet if this had been done to them.See the hate in Vengsarkar when he says {TOI story}why shd I inform Dravid when he did not tell me about relinquishing captaincy.Ridiculous school boy stuff from India's chief selector.Vengsarkar stands condemned not for dropping Dravid,certainly all 3 seniors can be rotated,but the deliberate and atrocious insult he has meted out to India's finest batsman.This is not SAchin versus Dravid or Ganguly,this is Mumbai bossism in Indian cricket.
IT IS TO BRING TO NOTICE WHEN SACHIN IS PLAYING I SAW PEOPLE WATCHING ENTIRE MATCH EITHER IN FRONT OF TV OR SOMEHOW, BUT DURING HIS ABSENSE I FOUND THAT PEOPLE SIMPLY STICKING TO SEE HIGHLIGHTS IF INDIA WINS, AND LOSS EVEN THEY DIDNT WATCH HIGHLIGHTS ALSO. ONLY RECENTLY AFTER 20-20 WIN PEOPLE WERE LITTLE INTERESTED IN WATCHING ALL MATCHES AGAIN. AUSTRALIA SERIES PEOPLE SAW ALWAYS A BATTLE BETWEEN SACHIN AND TEAM AUSTRALIA. THATS WHY THAT MUCH CRAZE FOR THE SERIES. EVEN AFTER 17 YEARS SACHIN IS INVALUABLE(NATIONAL TREASURE OF CRICKET).

ONLY REASON IS MONEY. THE BOARD KNOWS CRICKET CRAZY INDIA WILL WATCH THE MATCHES THAT INDIA PLAYED IRRESPECTIVE OF WHO IS THERE IN THE TEAM OR NOT. SO IF THEY FAZED OUT BIG THREE THEN THERE IS NO SENIOR LEFT IN THE SIDE. SO THEY BRING ALL C GRADE PLAYERS BY WHICH THEY CAN EARN LOTS AND LOTS OF MONEY. THAT IS THEIR MOTIVE THAN GOOD FOR INDIA CRICKET. AT LEAT IT TAKE 2 YEARS FOR A C GRADE PLAYER TO BECOME A GRADE PLAYER. CRICKET IN INDIA PLAYED FOR MONEY BY BOARD WHERE AS PLAYERS PLAY FOR BRINGING NAME TO COUNTRY. BOARD CONTROLLING PLAYERS MUST BE DOWN.

Well, Shastri is absolutely right about resting senior players. But not, only Dravid should be rested. I feel that if Dravid can be "RESTED" then Sachin Tendulkar & Saurav Ganguly also deserve "REST". After all they are also human beings & Dravid is not the only human being in the team. Let us now see whether the other two seniors,like Sachin & Saurav are rested for the last three ODI's vs Pakistan. And lets see after the "REST" given to Dravid, will he come back into the Indian Team for the last three ODI's. If this doesn't happen then it is clear that the selectors are being partial & have "DROPPED" Dravid from the team. It will then clearly indicates the hypocrisy of the selectors. Well another truth is that Tendulkar is selfish player who plays for himself rather than the nation. Just check out his records & check how many times India has won a match when he has scored a hundred. He is a demon in the Indian team. If at all somebody needs the "REST" its Tendulkar & not Dravid.
