Hi folks , Shastri in his comments said that sachin may not be a good leader but he has respect in the team so he should be the captain of the team.What an insult to good captains and the liked of viv richard ,ganguly and Imran khan..
Sachin will retire in year 2015.Actually his plan is to open with his son and probably he can stay in the team if he is a captain.Then both sachin and his son will reap the money in ads and cricket..

sachin neither has any imagination nor a tactician--look at his record as captain ie in two stints--25 matches 9 losses 4 wins!!his style of captaincy is to walk with the bowler for each ball!!so why should whatever sachin says be taken as gospel truth?
Look who is telling Shastri ,He is the same guy who used to make 10 runs in 60 balls in a one day and still used to show off as he was some sort of a super star.By mistake if he used to crack the boundry he used to either call for a new pair of gloved or some water .I even saw in south africa he had called for gloves after a boundry and in the consecutive boundry he called for his shoes.He was a darling of the opposite team .They never used to try and get him out.Because if he scores a half century the indian total would be 180-190 ..That too thanks to some better players with good striking everage.I never saw his bowl spin.Today also we have another shastri named agarkar .I guess they must be related somehow .

am surprised that everybody is talking about batsmans only."x" should be picked and "y"should be dropped all these players are batsmen.rather selectors should have rotation policy in bowling deptt.they should be ready with atleast 10 bowleres.be stict with bowleres 1 or 2 bad performance and any bowler should be thrown out of the side.performance should be key.wat say guys?

Good one,mate.But have you not seen the Challenger?The fast bowlers hardly have any pace.Even the bench strength in that dept. looks average.
The real reason for Dravid's ouster is Vengsarkar.He wants to show he is the boss.He wants the Indian captain to lick his boots.Dravid resisted and then threw a spanner by quitting.So red faced haughty Vengsarkar has taken revenge.This they call cricket.And the Mumbai gang is rushing to shore up Vengsarkar for his stupid action.Shastri has lost all credibility by rushing in to Veng's defence.It is sad to see how politics is being played out on India's finest batsman who unlike Ganguly has no godfather or media boost up.One is not for Dravid blindly,but what has been done is a plain insult.If Veng had said only 2 dseniors at a time including Sachin,it would have been fine.But he wanted to be seen cutting Dravid to size.He has to go for being so crass.
How many times have we seen this bad patch for Sachin in his entire career. I think other than the two sharjah matches and WC 2003 in all his career he has remained in bad patch only.
Cunningly scoring in inconsequential and irrelevant matches and consistently scoring against minnows. He is the king of minnows.
Have you ever considered that he must be rested. I am a Mumbaikar too, but don't use the Mumbai and west lobby to and drop selfless players like Rahul Dravid.
All of Rahul's runs have been tangible and valuable to the team. WHereas for sachin, it has selfishness written all over it.
I think you are the #1 chamcha of sachin, followed by sunil gavaskar and harsha bhogle. If you 3 are deported from the country, I think sachin will be dropped and that will revive indian cricket for good.

I AM SURPRISED SACHIN NOT COMMENTING ON DRAVID'S EXCLUSION AT ALL. HE COMMENTED WHEN GANGULY WAS OUSTED SAYING AT LEAT 2 MORE YEARS WAS LEFT IN HIM. WHY NOT NOW. IF SACHIN PUTS A SINGLE WORD IN FAVOUR OF DRAVID, VENGY WOULDNT HAVE TAKEN THE DECISION. ALSO TEAM SELECTION IS VERY POOR AT THIS INSTANCE, HAVING 4 OPENERS INSTEAD THEY CAN HAVE KARTHIK/RAINA IN THE MIDDLE ORDER WITH ONE OF THE SAURAV/SEHWAG/GAMBHIR DROPPING. ESPECIALLY PLAYERS LIKE YUVRAJ WHO PLAYS EVERY NOW AND THEN SHOULD BE REMINDED THAT THERE IS RAINAS KARHTIS AND TIWARYS ARE IN WAITING. THEN YOU SEE THE PERFORMANCE DOWN THE ORDER. sachin has been wanting captaincy to retain his place--did u not read excerpts of sting ops where selectors said that sachin and gangs were wanting captaincy back--who opened his big mouth after WC fearing chappel would spill the beans? sachin wants captaincy--period biggest thraet dravid because of consistency so why the hell would he talk

Would you like to drop Yuvraj now? Hey is the only player how can hit sixes on demand today. So think before you say something.
i have seen sachin and ganguly trying to hit the ball hard and failing whereas Yuvraj, Uthappa and Dhoni can hit the ball hard and can play according to situation. Now there is no point you can drop such guys.
