A very big thankyou to Dilip Colonel Vengsarkar for dropping Rahul Dravid...

Me and my friends would switch off the TV set whenever Rahul Dravid came out to bat...now we can watch the match uninterrupted without losing even an over...

Thanx again Dilip Sahaab....

If you have any cricketing knowledge then u wouldnt have switch off the TV. Who in the world can hit a better Cover Drive, a straight drive elegant glance the use of Wrist so technically perfect. If u r saying due to the strike rate then Dravid's Strike rate in ODI is 72, Kallis -70, Jaywardhane-71, Ganguly - 73. So i dont think that its too less n for ur kind information Dravid has got record of Second fastest Fifty for India(21 balls vs W.indies) that tells us the story that he can play in all aspect as a sheet anchor also n also at good pace yah its a fact that he didt uses bottom hand grip n dont play unorthodox shots so wat if he can play with orthodox genuine cricket batting style.

Dravids strike rate is 71.23 & Gangulys is 73.65 ,kallis is 71.34,76.72, go to this link below which gives upto date stats. And stop manipulating with figures. Dravids strike rate was always in 60s till he started comming down the order and got to play the slog overs.
All dravid fans stop crying like a sissy, and dont gather sympathy with such subtle manipulations.

Hey all the people who writes about Dravid not being a finisher or not upping the tempo, you guys have super short memories. I am not going to dwell on that as they just need to refer to past matches (last 6 years) in which India won chasing or otherwise and look at Dravids contribution. Who in the Indian team can come in at so many positions in batting line up and still maintain that average and strike rate? Captaincy is not about giving orders but leading by example. He has done that many times. For example look at the way Ganguly played the 6th one dayer with Australia. in sight of century the runs dried up from his bat (86 (111)). It doesn't happen with Dravid. He doesn't play for himself. He has played self lessly as a deputy for Ganguly but never had the same cooperation from his own deputy Sehwag. If they should drop some one from team it's Ganguly not Dravid

Ganguly and sachin are performing while the HOLE IN THE INDIAN WALL IS NOT.I would love it if sehwag performs and dravid never comes back.what a way that will be to go without a farewell and he deserves that for trying to keep ganguly out

I don't think Ganguly or Tendulkar can bat in any other position other than opening.Dravid has batted in various positions in the batting order & succeeded. And regarding strike rate, his strike rate is almost same as Ganguly's.Dravid has failed in the last series & he was dropped, whereas Ganguly failed for nearly 2 yrs with the bat b4 he was dumped.

As far as Sehwag performing consistently is like expecting to c Haley's comet everyday.

CRICKET RAJNITI-2007-2008 Part I
by Vimal Upadhyay on Oct 30, 2007 02:48 PM

From The Past 2 Years And So Or Earlier There Have Been Politics Involved In Oustering The Greats. But The Problem With Us Is That Why We Are So Much Interested In Cricket When EveryOne Knows Cricket Is Not Played By 11 Players But By Those Who Never Played Cricket In Their Life.Be It Be Mr. Pawar Or BCCI Members.Even If We Consider The Names Of Selecters Who Know Who Ranjib Biswal Is Or Sanjay Jagdale Is?Leaving Dravid From The 2 One Dayers Is Not The Issue. The Issue Is Why Such A Treatment Is Given To Person Who Has The Magnificent Record Which Any Indian Can Be Proud Of.This Is The Reason He Called "The Wall".At First It Was Wrong Decision To Consider Him As Captain And Involving In Dirty Politics Of Indian Cricket To Ouster Sourav.Be It Kiran More Or Dilip Its Their Grudge Against Players That They Wait For The Situation To Happen Or Come In Their Way To Play Their Game Of KARKIT.I Hope If We Really Want To See The Indian Cricket Happening Let Dirty Politics Be Removed And Let The Players Play Their Cricket. To Be Continued ........

Are we talking of Dravid being dropped or Patil Manjrekar flaying vengsarkar. Patil was responsible for fight internally between Indian team when he was manager/coach of India after world cup. Manjrekar has sold himself to every foriegn country who want to get sachin out cheaply. So he tried pakistan first and then SL and then england I guess he will say Aus now. Vengsarkar and others may be morons BUT how would you explain justifying taking youngsters? Make no mistake Dravid is is not dropped forever. Just a stop gap only. We have some excellent critics in cricket, so let us not talk of idiots like patil and Manj. I used to think the same thing that selectors are doing a crap job of selecting this guy and that guy but I feel now that its not easy.

Too bad Rahul
by on Oct 30, 2007 02:33 PM  | Hide replies

Too bad - Dravid is no sachin to crib over batting order or personal record over team advantage
Too bad - he is no yuvraj to be aggressive even with his mouth and shoot off at every chance
Too bad - he doesnt have the political influence of saurav to have people burn effigies or have a debate in the parliament
Too bad- he is not wily like biker boy dhoni, to sit calmly at home drooling at models and give a nod to the drop, when he could have done more.
Too bad - he is no viru or bajji to suck up to the right people to always find a spot in the team without performing.
Too bad - that he has always been a self-less straight shooter besides being the most consistent and best top order batsman for India who puts only team's interest first.

Kick that joker Vengsarkar and his goons out, get new selectors. while they are it - also give a kick in the pants to niranjan modi and jharkand dhoti dhoni to bring them down a bit from their high.

Where the hell Dhoni comes in the picture. the guy given captainship after sudden resignation by dravid. had dravid given prior information to board that he planned to leave and some successor should be worked out? what selflessness was it? so board is annoyed. as far as selection is concern if going by purely performance dravid is appearing just far from his average forget the best. giving rest in 2 ODIs will definitely provide him some retrospection and he will rise to his average and then his best also. i don't see this much hue and cry of the situation. few days back al of us were looking for the heads of seniors. today worst performer out of big names was rested and we are again shouting! pity on us. and pity ON "ON". dhoni has not done any thing wrong till date. don't abuse him at least and that too on the basis of his state.

what about bowleres
by on Oct 30, 2007 02:33 PM

am surprised that everybody is talking about batsmans only."x" should be picked and "y"should be dropped all these players are batsmen.rather selectors should have rotation policy in bowling deptt.they should be ready with atleast 10 bowleres.be stict with bowleres 1 or 2 bad performance and any bowler should be thrown out of the side.performance should be key.wat say guys? ---------hot world cup . com

Manjrekar Patil reaction to Dravid's ouster
by Prakash Kamat on Oct 30, 2007 02:21 PM

"I had earlier supported the idea that Sharad Pawar, as BCCI president, should not interfere in selection matters. I would revise my decision now and recall how once N K P Salve, as then BCCI president, had intervened and influenced the selectors to include Sunil Gavaskar [Images] after he had been dropped," Patil said.

I think Patil got this wrong, it was not Sunil who was dsropped but Kapil who was dropped at the behest of Sunny and sought to be reinstated by Salve.
