Unfair Unfair Unfair Unfair - There is a limit to it!!
by Susobhan Ghosh on Nov 22, 2007 01:30 AM  | Hide replies

On one hand that "depends on performance", but when it comes to Yuvaraj's inclusion, he is telling he has to wait. There is a limit to unfairness.

Laxman is a great player, but right now how any one can drop Yuvaraj with his recent SUPER performances, when laxman's recent performances are hardly noticeable.

Spectators and supporters should boycott the match; send a signal to BCCI. If not now, then when?

Yes indeed you are right. They should consider Pathan first. He could also contribute with the bat.

Need to think before talk

Hello Guys, I understand your points, but It is hard to satisfy everyone's like, there will be some thing always missing, there is nothing exist like a perfect team so that every indian would smile.
I am sure Yuvraj is really unlucky to leave out but there is no choise, well Yuvraj in very good form in ODI's it doesn't make him rightaway a good test player, look at Dhoni, He hasn't established as a good test player, either. We have a tough australian series to come, where we need the whole experience of indian team to tacle the bounce. If you look at Yuvraj's carrer, he always failed against new ball, Look at every game he came early to bat, he failed missarable against fast ball. Even in 20-20, he had hard time facing the new ball, when it has sign on it. But he is a very good middle order player, very good fielder and useful baller. But he has to prove in the Test Areana to be a permenant member of the team. In my choice, Sachin, Dravid and Laxman has to play all the games, but I am not sure about Karthik, Ganguly and Dhoni, that's where they have to rotate Yuvraj with. Dhoni lacks the technique to play in test level, Karthik should keep the wicket and Yuvraj might get a chance. Ganguly lacks in filding, running between wickets and batting skills. But he is a tough cricketer, would be good to keep him on Australia.

No arguments can justify Yuvraj out of Test cricket looking at his current brilliant performance. After hitting six sixes in an over he has prooved himself to be one of the very few super cricketers. He is an extra-ordinery asset to Indian cricket who should be encouraged to cross all boundries beyond one could think. keeping him out is not only an act of gross injustice against this brilliant young man but also a shameful example of partiality and insult to every genuine cricket lover son/daughter of mother India.

right. yuv is good but more suited for odi/t20. his technique esp. his footwork like ganguly's is pathetic. even dhoni is no good in tests. n v r projecting dhoni/yuv as capt/vc for future.

Player in form Must get place
by bhargavi consultancy on Nov 22, 2007 01:14 AM

Yuvraj is in continous touch with all fast Bowlres. Secondly he is in full form. And he has shown no of times that he can bat as per the situation. Mathew hedan was selected for ODs team only. But he was included in test team also by seeing his form.
ok i m sure he will back in test team.

Politics of idli- sambhar and masala dosa
by Arv Singh on Nov 22, 2007 01:06 AM  | Hide replies

Why are Yuvraj, Irfan, Uthappa, and Gambhir sitting out? Why was Dhoni not selected as captain for the test series? It is a naked display of regional politicking in Indian Cricket. Guess who is included instead? Dravid, Laxman, Karthick, Kumble, and Jaffer.

There will be immense pressure on these oldies to perform and I bet Delhi audience will be watching with interest. Kumble is starting on a wrong foot. Sounding over confident and making decisions to take out Yuvraj. Lets see how Laxman and co face uo to Shohaib and I believe Asif is back too. Time will tell if the dirty blanket soiled with sambhar can hide the talent for too long! Delhi crowd will treat Kumble with the respect he deserves ... "Desi jooti on his head".

Ashish Nehra should be playing
by Anish Tulsian on Nov 22, 2007 12:47 AM  | Hide replies

Everyone is talking about batting. has anyone thought about bowling? India have enough batting strength to score 300 runs in both innings of a match but do they have fast bowlers to get early wickets and lay a platform for kumble and harbhajan to clean up the middle order? Selectors have chosen Munaf patel who remains home because of injuries and have lost his pace which was his talking point when he entered international cricket. Ashish nehra who has genuine pace and can get bounce on flat indian tracks should have been playing in first 11. munaf has just played 3 domestic games this season after recovery from injury but ashish nehra has played full season. india would do good with bat no matter Laxman, ganguly or yuvraj plays. The point to discuss is about fast bowling keeping in mind the ever ansd most important Australia tour. or india would come back from australia tour as Sri lanka came back recently.

yes. need to look at nehra where is he hiding. no news. but munaf is also better if he keeps himself fit. (he proved his fitness in recent ranji matches).

I am not confident about Munaf...you need some pace to get batsmen out on indian pitches which munaf lacks now. He was a good bowler but i am not sure about his current fitness and stamina. So, spinners hold the key now.

Tests are already at their twilight. ODI and T-20 will prevail. Frankly I will feel depressed watching Yuvi scoring 1 run at 3 balls.
