sehwag is in one day team because vengsarkar wanted him.you check out india cricket history sehwag is most persistant failure and the one who has been given maximum chances.he should play full ranji session before getting in to indian team.just check his crediantials after multan innings and even bangladeshi selectors won't select him in their team too.....

he is talking abt odi ..dravid was left out of odi series..and was replaced by sehwag..who didnt do much wit the bat ..so droppin dravid for sehwag is stupid idea...
I personaly feel that picking 3 spinners is always to much and certainly Murali will not play in both the test,because Kumble and Singh will be out 2 main spinners, so why select him, instead of Murali, I think Pathan would have been better choice. Because after this PAK series we will be touring down under. The selector should have kept that in mind before selecting Murali. one performance does not guarante a test place. If Pathan would have been selected his morale would have definitely boasted. As we know that down under it is the pace that matters and not spin.

yeha even i feel pathan is better than sreesanth and he should be integral part of ODI and Test team as allrounder.he will help balance the side.

pathan shud improve his speed...pathan is a swing bowler..more than a fast bowler..
sreesanth r.p singh and zaheer khan are bolwing at 140 kph speed..so and they had good test series against england..so droppin them..wont do any justice...pathan will be picked later..wen these struggle

yeah and considering the bigger gorunds in australia,there will be plenty of running fofr the fielders.so unfit players are btter not selected for that tour else the injury will be more.
i think Gautam Gambhir should have been included, the delhi opener is in his best form and shown temperament also. Moreover, both Wasim Jaffer & Dinesh Karthik have not played much international cricket since 5-6 months. Its amusing, the delhi opener had not been provided a chance in longer version of game.
A chance may also be provided to Virender Sehwag who has impeccable performance record agianst Pakistan, it would have provided him an opportunity to uplift his game.

Gambhir has good technique but when it comes to temparament, he is far behind Jaffar and Karthik. Virendar Sehwag will play test cricket only after Sachin, Dravid, Sourav and Laxman retires. That too only if he is in great form. But unfortunately, he won't attain gr8 form in future. So, he will not play test cricket in the future at all.

gambhir..doesnt have the techniue..he is more of t20 and odi player..he struggles while playing swing bowlers...he was lucky in the pak odi series...pakistani fielders dropped him so many times...and he doesnt have the temperment

Gambhir, Utthappa, Robin Sharma, should be tried by reducing fab four quota. Newcomers are all quality material required to be groomed, 50% of fab four are fading lights in short time. Can they cope this rigid schedule with weak legs ? Fab four should start applying for TV commentators post. Possibly they are around for 1-2 series

some ppl dont understand test cricket and never will. look at australia, they never give chance to a young player who performed in one or two matches. they always stick to their experienced players and stick with them. thats the reason hayden, langer, ponting,etc are the best players in the world and australia the best team.

Gambhir has not been selected in playing 14 for first two test.Yuvraj will get chance only if we decide to play 6 frontline batsmen.

Ok accepted gambhir dropped for first two test but Yuvi and Gambhir both are better bet than Dinesh Kartik I guess.

Gambhir does not have the temperament to bat for long hours. Fit to play only ODIs and T20s. Yuvi as on opener??? Only jokers will select Yuvi as an opener. He is a good middle order batsman. Period.

Yes Kartik should have made way for Gambhir as opener.Yuvraj will get place only if we go for 6 batsmen.Also pathan should ahve been selected in place of sreesanth.But the team guessed is from the 14 selected

Team India, I would say that this team is ok for HOME Series and matches against weaker opponents but defiantely it could be demolished in AUSSIE series if BCCI persists with the same team!

Am sure you are joking. Don't compare Karthik's wicket keeping standards with Dhoni's. Karthik is the best Indian wicket keeper now. Only because Dhoni is a better batsman, he is there as a keeper.

They are on par with each other.The other thing dhoni is there coz he is the vice captai.also he is beeing groomed for the same role in australlia.theya re looking towrds dhoni as test captain in near future.thats why he is a new addin to the test team.

Karthik is also captain material. There is always a bias when it comes to selection from the southern region especially TN and Kerala.

Your point is valid. Dhoni can come into the test team when the big 3 retire. He can be a fielder. Yuvraj as the test captain will be good for the future.

To win test serise you need quality bowlers like Mcgrah, Lee, Pollock,Waquar, Akram. India doesnot have . We have onegood test bowler Kumble but still he is not in the class of Warne & Murlidharan. AND winning out is not easy task.
Still Fab 4 have won series in Big countries England, Windies and Pakistan. Opposite No. AUS, they have drawn series, it is achievement for any team coming undefitted from Australia. They have also won many serieses in Bangla,Zim & Srilanka

Indian test team without the fab four in the away series can only play gulli cricket with the foreign lads.
Everyone aspires to become captain of India but our great sachin refused the captaincy so easily. He might have his reasons for that but u cant give excuses when it comes to the country. Instead of leading India he put all the burden on a young player like Dhoni. Whats the use of seniors if they cannot take responsibility. Is he in the team only to make records and sign contracts?

Sachin knew he was not a good captain and atleast he admits it openly. Sachin would have denied captaincy thinking that Dhoni would be made captain. But the bunch of jokers selected Kumble instead. Kumble anyway will retire in an year.

If Sachin serves better as a player it is good for team. He is consistently scoring more runs than others for lasr 4-% serieses and helping team under any captain. It shows he is great but humble sportsman
