why india failed in world cup.
by on Jun 10, 2007 03:00 PM

The main reason for india's failure is the overexpectations of the fanatic and indigenoius cricket fans in india. How can a player play well when their is so much pressure from fanatic crowd who wants him to score centuries in every matches. Only god can do that. If the player fails even in a single match the people will start to throw stones at his house and make life of the players family members in danger. All the players know the fact so they crumble with fear at the crease. The football ,hockey players in india r so lucky. Even if they play bad nobody will attack their homes because there is not much outragious fans for those sports comparing to cricket in india. More higher the pressure more lower the performance. I request to all indians all over india to stop the blame game and let the players to relax their minds. Any player can play well with a pleasant mind.

Sachin VS Ponting
by Nandu R on May 29, 2007 06:43 AM  | Hide replies

People comparing Tendulkar and Ponting are real brainless people. Tendulkar has scored 4 hundred and 3 fifty in Australia against Australia with the Highest score of 241 not out and a very good average of 54.15 Where as Ponting has scored only one fifty with a highest score of 60 and the average of 12.28 in India against India. Know the reason why sachin is called greatest batsman. Ask ponting to score one test century in India before you guys can even compare him with Tendulkar

dear nandu,
for sure sachin is is a great player. such datas doesnt perform for u but your performance makes such datas. cricket is a team sport and needs all the players to give their best. but it hurts when such a great player, whome we pray so much, failed to score in world cup final and at many such moments when the team really needs his contribution. its not only about sachin but about all the indian players. they do not have that urge for winning. they do not have that killer instinct that will make them the real champions. otherwise indian condition wouldn't have been such in the recent world cup.

Dear one...
By this logic

Netaji should have been hanged.

Guru Gobind Sing should have been stabbed to death.

Shivaji should have been killed,

Pritviraj Chouhan should have been gilotined.

So many lone fighters should have been blamed exterminated just because we spineless weak skeletons the indians never performed as a unit. It was all their individual fault that they faught a lone battle at times.
I am ashamed to call myself Indian but i have no go...

Shame on our thinking......

well nandu,
Most of the Indian people gets pleasure when they can humiliate our heroes and hail the others, not everybody thinks like u and me.
This is in our culture to insult our own people who achieves the most !!!
let ponting score even a good fifty in India then compare him with tendulkar who have several centuries in Australia against australia. and yes also check ponting's record against Srilanka please u Sachin haters and his record against Murali....... u will know who is the best.

hey indian,
dont think like that buddy. no one likes to humiliate or insult own heroes. but analysis is very important further improvement. ok tell me. shouldn't we analyse, why we were out of the world cpu 2007 at that stage? are u satisfied with the fitness and practice sessions of our senior players? are they giving their best to the team?
Analyse it my dear friend.

No need to be so emotional
by CricketLover on May 28, 2007 11:00 PM  | Hide replies

Everyone is entitled to their opinions but the opinion needs to be balanced and not blind hate or blind support. Sachin is not at his best, compared to 3 years ago. Everyone knows this so there is no point on repeating that. Why is he not the same - there could be plenty of reasons, recent injuries and surgeries which may be slowing down foot movements or hand-eye coordination, age. There is no point in going through these. Despite the fact that he is not the same Sachin as 3 years ago, he is still amongst the better batsmen in the team (except Dravid, who seems to be playing better). Even in one dayers if you discount the 2 WC games, his performances have been good. He scored a 76 ball 100 against WI recently. So why are people after Sachin? Is it jealousy that is causing the blind hate? If he scores a hundred they criticize him, saying it was against a wearker team or he was too slow. If he does not score then they are after him. If he opts out of the series they see a motive behind it saying that he is not playing because it is tougher opposition. I am pretty sure that even if scores well against Aus (which I am pretty sure he will), they will find some other reason to downplay this. They want new faces in the team to replace Sachin. Yes we agree it needs to be done, but we cannot replace seniors with new comers all at once. The youngsters need to be groomed for a couple of years, rather than wholesale replacement which is a recipe for disaster.

Ya. I too aggree with him. Sachin is still best. No one in India is capable to match his credentials. These peoples are just jeleous. At the contrary, M. Ashrful of Bangladesh has scored fast half century (in 26 balls)and that too against us, and if you compare the performance of Dravid, kartik, Dhoni etc. against Ashraful, then what do you think? So Sachin has played different role here but atleast scored some runs. And he has also scored century in previous test match. My dear friends, I request you to check the statistics of Sachin and others and then you will find that Sachin didn't perform well only in the World Cup's 2 match otherwise be has been consistent. So just leave to blame Sachin and hope for the best.

i love u bro ...for what u just said....it is exactly out of jealousy....i hv not seen anybody more unfortunate than tendulkar...even kapil had to be driven outta the team...he has the hero of our nation for fifteen years...if anybody takes the performance of sachin 7-8 years back...nobody matches him...remember the the sharjah series in 98' ..i remember the batting display against austrailia which Rahul or Dhoni will hv to take another to come anywhere closer to that...after eighteen years of cricket this man can still score back to back hundreds ...how many of you can vouch the same for yuvraj..karthi...sehwag..even dravid and even ..dada...respect him he has won us more matches than anybody else its just that the people who are writing here hv not seen him play in his prime days...as they are too young...he was far better than a dhoni...or a sehwag...yuvrajjj...please don compare..???

hi,
you are very right.
no doubt he is the greatest batsman.
why to discount 2 world cup games?
thats too for such a great player.
look brother, i m not insulting him. i cant even think that for such a great man.
but brother will agree with me,that he was week when ever team was under pressure.
he wasn't able to play for most of the time when indian team needed him to perform.
So what i want to say is that, our cricket board might not have tried to rectify this problem with sachin otherwise he could have been un comparable, "na booto na bhavishyati".
and many such things............... with other players as well..................

well sir iu certainly agree with u that u ought not remorse the men in blue. But as an afterthought u must look into the problem as to y we didnt even qualify for the super 8.Politics has nothing to do with the on field perfomance. Instead of congratulating them u should expect a lot from the team which has the ability to be no.1.

Lack of fire power
by Shankar Nag on May 28, 2007 02:10 PM  | Hide replies

If you want to dismiss Australia twice in a test match, you must have bowlers who can penetrate the batting line up. With bowlers like Zaheer Khan, Ishant, Anil etc. we can only dream of beating Australia. The 2004 triumph against Aussies was mainly because our batsmen were at their prime and pitches were sportingly made batting friendly. The bowling attack too was without McGrath and Warne.

Hello Mr. Shankar. I think u need to train our bowlers so that u can teach them how to penetrate the bowling line up.I think most of the people have an intuition that the bowling attack is not so good.Remember that bowling is not just pace its about putiing the ball in the right place.Bowlers like chaminda vaas lacks 20% pace than indians still he's there in top 10.If u look at the way zaheer bowled this test u will know he's well getting the ball to swing in to rght batsmen. As far as ishant is conserned i think this is the rght platform to experiment against a not so good team. But still if u think u can get a better bowler well i would like to have u as the manager of the BCCI.
Sorry for the hurting reply but plz analyze ur posting it is just overflow of anger.

hey ..i dont think...the committee or the people who choose MOM or MOS favour anybody...be it sachin or saurav or dravid..karthik gets praised when makes a fifty and sachin gets cursed when he makes a century..even if his performance was not a match winning one..he did make a contribution towards the victory...if u cant praise atleast don curse..if he dosent play well he will be outta the team..at this point i dont think..Yuvi or Veeru can displace him in the test side..respect the guy its his 18th year in international cricket and he can still score back to back centuries.......JAI HINDUSTAN..

Because of Tendulkar (performance and his behaviour), Indian cricket is in bad shape since last 2-3 years. Ever since Dravid took over the command of Indian cricket, most of senior players did not perform either due to lack of form (or who knows some kind of this mafia group). Sachin should be removed at once for sake of Indian cricket. He was the best but no more..Nobody rates him in the list of greatest players..because he failed whenever team needs his contribution.
