It is very sad that Dilip Sardesai has passed away at such a reatively young age. He was a great batsman -- who had cricketing talent of the highest order, tremendous courage and fighting spirit, and a cheerful, buoyant temperament. He dealt effectively even with the likes of Hall and Gilchrist in the days when batsmen wore nothing more than pads and gloves. His partnerships with Gavaskar were exhilarating. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family I share their sorrow, and pray that the Almighty gives them the strength to bear this irreparable loss. India will always respect the memory of Dilip Sardesai.
"Dilip Sardesai passes away" I hope this is the message. To convey sad demise I dont understand the necessity to keep images of Sunil Gavaskar, Rohan Gavaskar, West Indies team (recent team),South African ( recent team), Sachin Tendulkar, Simran( a cine actress). Please provide images of Dilip Sardesai achievements and people present during his achievements. why all other stuff is required in this column I dont have any clue.
Oh I found some bikini pictures and beaches in Goa (images) ( Whats all this non-sense stuff in this column).
rankings make no sense to me!!!...they are all fake!! in cricket rankings do not matter, past records do not matter!!only..performance on tht particular day counts...a quickfire 20 or 30 down the order in a stiff run chase is much more imp. thn a painstakingly slow century(like sachin).. its the crucial knocks in big matches tht makes an ordinary person a gr8 player...sadly sachin & sourav are lacking in these regards!! & thts y srikanth's 38 in WC'83 final is more remebered then sachin's cetury against kenya in league matches(WC'1999) or sourav's back to back hundred against kenya(wc'2003)!!!
"During the 15 years he played for Mumbai in Ranji Trophy, the team never lost a single match in the premier domestic competition."
- Mumbai. Simply the greatest Indian team ever. The fuckin' New York Yankees of Indian domestic cricket, leagues ahead of any other domestic team. The only team to have beaten an Australian touring team in a warm-up match.
It was painful to read about the demise of Dilip Sardesai. remember his nimble footwork which made him a delight to watch. He and Hanumant Singh Were two stylish batsmen of their times who didn't do full justice to their potential. Sardesai basically a middle order batsman was forced into the role of an opener by Pataudi and as a result ended up being in the wilderness for 4 years of his prime between 1967 & 1971. But for this he would have scored many more runs and centuries. May his soul rest in peace.
Dilip Sardesi was a great cricketer who made sincere contribution for the country. He was much different from modern day players who concentrate on individual records, price money and advertisements. My sincere condolence. May his soul rest in peace.
My sincere condolence May the departed soul rest in eternal peace and Almighty God provide enough strength to the family enough strength to withstand this irreperable loss.
