My sincere condolence May the departed soul rest in eternal peace and Almighty God provide enough strength to the family enough strength to withstand this irreperable loss.
Very Sad! To lose a living legend like him. They were the true cricketers of India who played only for the country and not for advertisements. May his Soul Rest in Peace. Amen!

In those days there were no advertising opportunities for any sports persons. Let us be realistic, let us not mix up playing talents and money.

May his soul RIP. May God give his family the courage to overcome this unbearable greif.... Dear soumya as for ur version, ad opportunities were their, but they were very few n far. FYI Farookh Engineer was the first sports icon to brand endorse Brylcream!!!! but what Moumita said is true, these guys are the true cricket ambassodors, who played for the passion of the game unlike our present day heroes
Sardesai was a very happy cricketer even if he was treated poorly, at times, by the cricket establishment. His last appearance for India was as a substitute fielder, which was a real pity. He certainly deserved a chance to go out with guns blazing. As a batsman he was superb. His role model was Vijay Manjrekar, to the best of my knowledge. He was very strong on the offside and his squarecuts were fantastic. A very courageous player and a real man. He will be missed by all. I salute Dilip Sardesai or Sardy Maan as he used to be called in the Windies.
It was really sad to hear about the death of one of the legendary player in Indian Cricket History. I convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and pray to Almighty to give strength and courage to the family members at this tragic hour. May his soul rest in peace.
Sardesai never played for records. For him countrys victory was paramount importance unlike the present day Cricketers !!! Throughout his career he was humble and unsung hero whereas the media nowadays compete and encash in portraying a single individual who plays for records and for wrong reasons !!!

It is rightly said. Its diffi to find players playing for the game n not for records. Meaning people are playing for records and personal welfare. May his soul rest in PEACE. Ram Ram
