Aussies downfall! no just wait
by David Williams on Feb 21, 2007 12:03 AM

Quite a few seem to get carried away with the series win of NZ over Australia. But the Aussies are very strategic in the approach to the WC. They have rested some of their best players frequently in the recent past so that they don't wear out before the WC. And don't get carried away with their under-performance currently...they will come to back to no.1 position soon. Just wait & see! I believe in the Aussie fighting spirit..seen that happen before.

Downfall?
by Vikas D on Feb 20, 2007 11:44 PM

In the last 15 months, a total of 320 or more has been posted in the second innings against Australia in 6 matches. Aussies lost four of those. Of these 6, the Kiwis have featured in 5. The Kiwis have been excellent chasers in ODIs played in Australia and NZ. Their middle order is one of the best in the world (in 2nd innings) with Oram, Styris, McCullum, McMillan and Vettori in the ranks. Chris Cairns, till recently, added icing to the cake.

New Jersy New Leader
by Indra Sengupta on Feb 21, 2007 02:08 AM | Hide replies

WIsh team India all the best in new jersy.
Who looks like the real leader in whatever Jersy they wear.
Friends there is a difference between the Captain and the Leader.
Captains are made but Leaders areborn.
So whosoever is made or termed as Captain is not necessarily the Leader.
Abour a year or so back the Captain and the Leader was the same person.
Now the leader is back after the lay off .
The jealousies and lies can not hide the talent.
Clouds can not keep the sulight away for long.
Look how the team the young brigade the Dhonies the Yuvrajs and the Harbhajans rayy behind the real Leader.
Those who want to remain happy with the official Captain remain so no harm.
Let us enjoy the return of the leader.
Letthe team enjoy the return of the leader.
Let us listen to the awesome roar of the Tyger.
Tyger, Tyger burning bright
In the forests of the night.
He is the golden day shining
On the mountain top-
The fields and the meadows.

Dada I see you everywhere;
In the sky above us I see
Your face in the dark night.

You are the inspiration of
One thousand million who find
Their life worth living;
You made the boundaries wither away
One thousand millions dance to your tune.

Shine Dada shine and burn even brighter-
Hit hard all senseless illogical
Utterences out of the fences hundred miles away.
Live Dada live.
Live long! Live strong!!
Dada the Darling Daring!!!

This is going to be the beginning for Aussies debacle
by balaga parvatheeswara rao on Feb 20, 2007 11:36 PM

Aussies had displayed tremondous team game for over 7 years in the recent past. This was relatively a very long period and was largely due to McGrath and Warne. Now one of them was over and the other is at the edge of retirement. Therefore, I could foresee the present turmoil in the hands of Kiwis is a beginning of the Aussies debacle. A new team may well come up in the WC for the next 3-4 years. Probably, this could be the turn of South Africa.

Sudden DEMISE of australian Cricket
by puneet alag on Feb 20, 2007 09:55 PM

What a load of nonsense, DEMISE of Australian cricket,Although NZ played very well , luck had a lot to do with the wins ,inside edeges going for fours ,dropped catches etc made a lot of difference. How can a team which scored 336 and 346 have played badly and are suddenly finished?
When ponting comes back as captian he will stop those stupid mistakes that Hussey made.This is a case of a desperate indian public and media who go out of the way to find Ideas that India will somehow win the cup no matter what, and australia has always been one of the biggest obsticle to winning the worldcup.

Some Stats
by Akhilesh R on Feb 20, 2007 09:48 PM  | Hide replies

Population of NZ = 0.4 crores (4 million)
Population of Pune = 0.4 crores (4 million)

Population of Australia = 2.0 crores (20 million)
Population of Mumbai = 2.0 crores (20 million)

Population of India = 100 crores (1000 million, 1 billion)

There will come a day when matches between Mumbai and Pune will be as interesting as those between Australia and NZ. That day will be the day that India becomes a developed country.

Do you know that India has more people than the entire remaining cricketing world put together.

England - 50 million
Austalia - 20 million
South Africa - 50 million
NZ - 4 million
Zimb. - 13 million
Pakistan - 160 million (India has 160 million Muslims, b.t.w)
SL - 20 million
Windies - 5 million tops.
Kenya - 35 million
---------------------------------
TOTAL = 360 million

India = 1000 million

India forms 70% of the cricketing world. And we still don't win. DISGUSTING.

But in the matched ICC don't allow us to field number of players proportional to our population!!! You have to accept it my dear, not only in cricket, but in every odd areas. Look population cannot be proportional to win or comfort or well being. In the contrary sometimes it is inversely proportional.
